"It's worse than that, Telion. Looking at this information it looks like this might have been a control node for a much larger system. I've got labels here for 'Power Transmission', 'Maneuvering Thrusters' and one labelled 'Auxiliary Fire Control.' This rock is probably worth hells of a lot more than anyone thought and it's unknown tech. This language is barely decipherable."

August looks around.

Telion, you're correct: the Void Disease that you have has made you Weakened - that is a combination of the conditions Fatigued and Sickened. Your lesser restoration amp will get rid of the Fatigued condition for now, but unless you rid yourself of the disease, it will return when you next make a Constitution check to fight off the disease (after you sleep next or 24hrs pass since the last check, whichever comes first. Sorry for the confusion. I've updated your status in my records.

Fatigued (which Telion temporarily isn't):
You can neither run nor charge, and you take a –1 penalty to your Armor Class, attack rolls, melee damage rolls, Reflex saving throws, initiative checks, and Strength- and Dexterity-based skill and ability checks. The amount of bulk you can carry without becoming encumbered is reduced by 1. If you are fatigued, doing an activity that would normally cause fatigue causes you to become exhausted instead. After 8 hours of complete rest, you are no longer fatigued.

Sickened (which Telion still is):
You take a –2 penalty to attack rolls, weapon damage rolls,
saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.

Jaxom, you can read about the Medicine skill and tell me what specific action you’d like to try. That section of the Starfinder Core Rulebook is very specific.

Telion, you will get a +4 on your next saving throw against your disease thanks to Jaxom's ministrations that will take place prior to your next sleep.

August sits and flicks through the computer controls, his fingers a blur as he cuts through screen after screen of alien jargon. With deftness, the android pulls up what appears to be a simplified directory of information. Deciphering it for the rest of the crew, you all learn that:

  • This computer technology and the Drift Rock itself are incredibly ancient - possibly over a million years old.
  • The equipment in this room is designed to operate minor subsystems of some larger structure or device, though the control room is no longer connected to that structure.
  • That larger is likely a space-based weapon system.
  • The Drift Rock is a piece of heretofore-unknown technology of exceedingly advanced age, and the larger structure it was once a part of may still be somewhere among the stars, just waiting to be discovered!

It's at that point that Diamaante and Jaxom level up to 3rd level! Congrats!

Then he'll pull his weapons back out and make sure there's still charges.

    August:
You found no evidence of traps, though the alien nature of the door mechanism leaves you less than reassured.

The door springs open at August's touch and the android dives to the side, leaving Telion, Jaxom, and Jagjug peering inwards with raised weapons. After a beat that does not include a hailstorm of laser fire, the android jerks his head in for a view as well.

With its vaulted ceiling and smoothed stone floor, this sprawling cavern has the appearance of a primitive shuttle hangar or landing bay—an impression reinforced by the presence of a starship taking up the majority of the space. Only the wall you enter is finished with the ceramic-metallic plating found elsewhere in the complex; the remainder of the cavern is hemmed by natural rock walls. Huge doors stand in the far wall of the chamber—doors easily big enough to accommodate the starship parked in front of them. Of more immediate interest, however, are the two human bodies splayed on the floor just inside the doors you just opened, their internal organs spread artfully on the floor around the corpses.

Though not visible on the map, the stern of the starship is marked. the ship stretches 180 feet to the far end of the chamber, just in front of the two massive double doors (also not seen). Remember: each square on this map is 10 feet.

Upon further disturbing review, it appears that all of the parts of the corpse have been arrayed out on the floor much in the same way as someone would spread all the parts of a model ship out before putting them together.
