I have just read the heal skill, so I will also like to treat deadly wounds on them. Its not a big chance but...
urga: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 5 - 2 = 7
sildur: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 5 - 2 = 6
thorn: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 5 - 2 = 19
rikael: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 5 - 2 = 20
myself: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 - 2 = 18
neede to make DC20, so rikael gets an extra hp.
the -2 is because I don't have a healers kit.
Thorn Slivertip
Thorn grins as he hears spirits. Knowing that the ones around him so far were being quiet for some other reason of their own.
Survival, gather food 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
I have many spirits to let go. They chatter too much and gets distracting sometimes a the wrong times.
GM Deuce
Easy things first:
I'm on board with Agatha's long-term healing and care. I'll update my track of your stats. As always, check my work.
Thorn is able to find enough food for you all. No need to deduct rations, unless you want to.
How much are you drinking? If I remember right, you have something like 60 total drinks, but we should make a reasonable effort at keeping track.
Now for some GM rolls:
GM roll, noon: 1d100 ⇒ 92
GM roll, 3PM: 1d100 ⇒ 64

GM roll, midnight: 1d100 ⇒ 28
GM roll, 3AM: 1d100 ⇒ 58
GM roll, 6AM: 1d100 ⇒ 31
That looks like something is going to happen at or near the Sturion and Thorn hand-off. I'll have to get all that posted when I get home tonight. Standby :)

...to Agatha...I don' offer mercy ta known murderers...nor will I be one. If you be a murderer, best ye leave now.
GM Deuce
I Have a funny feeling that Sturion just started a long-term discussion/debate. You can interleave that with the rest of the happenings as necessary.
gm roll: 1d100 ⇒ 4
It would be helpful if everybody put themselves on the map and note if they are sleeping or if they are awake. It's about 900PM and dark.
About the time Thorn and Sturion are ready to trade watch duties...
It's cold and snows intermittently, but the wind had slowed considerably. The fire has died down and could use a few extra logs to keep the heat up.
Everybody that is awake, make one perception check. Whoever is on guard duty (either Thorn or Sturion, you all tell me if the handoff happened on time or if it's early or late or exactly how that happens), make a second check.

"Why do you abandon us when you have new friends?"

NPC stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
NPC stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
You guys are lucky with rolls. This should end up being easy for you without the benefits of stealth.
I place everybody around the fire and here is where I think we are for current status. If this is not not right from your perspective, speak up in the beginning.
Agatha: Asleep, Per 18
Dru: Asleep'
Rikael: Asleep, Per 10
Sildur: Awake and adding logs to the fire, Per 7
Sturion: Awake, Per 19
Thorn: Asleep, Per 17
Urga: Awake, Per 20
As Sildur reaches for extra logs from the woodpile, he is shocked to see that there are only one or two left. The last time he got some wood, there was a large sized pile.
Sturion and Urga see a few of the logs floating in the air, being carried away by moving trees! Once the trees are discovered, they turn from being stealthy to attacking!
This situation isn't clearly covered by the rules, so here is what I would like to do:
1 - roll intitiative
2 - The trees and everybody who is awake and passed a perception check get a full round of actions.
3 - Everybody who is awake but did not make a perception check gets a surprised round.
4 - Everybody who is asleep starts on round 2 with a surprised round, then continues as normal.
How does that sound?

A few things I didn't realize before...
Tree #1 has the blue background.
Tree #2 has the white/clear background.
Knowledge(nature) or knowledge(local) if you have a northern background will reveal information about the creatures.
Sildur Farwind
That's one way to handle it, should be workable.
Round 1
Sildur cries out as he spots the trees, drawing a shortspear to meet the attackers.
Knowledge(Nature): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
If Sturion is on watch and Thorn is already asleep, I imagine he would be a little ways away from the fire, no?
Sturion Stoutheart
Sturion jumps up, grabbing his war axe...WHAT THA....durn kindlin' done come ta us!
Hoping he won't regret not grabbing his shield, Sturion charges in.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Rikael Ashenstone
Rikael sits up, rubbing his eyes.
Shturuun, wads haapin?
When he sees the trees he slurs
They're juss comin' ta get thurr frens...
He starts to lay back down, but wakes up he rest of the way, and scrambles to get out of his blanket.
Ahh, what in the nine hells! The woods are after us!
GM Deuce
I figured that everybody would be close to the fire to aid in staying warm, but if you want to be a little farther away, now is the time to move yourself. Also, the barricade close to the fire would help to stop wind and keep heat close to the group.
Time for a round 1 update!
The noise and shouting stirs Thorn from his slumber.
Urga moves quickly to Tree1.
Sturion rises from his position as guard and attacks the tree with his war axe. He severs a large branch with the attack. I can't think of a good chopping wood joke right now, but I really want to make one.
Tree2 speaks to its companion.
Tree1 swings a branch back at Sturion. slam: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 I think that hits because of no shield, but correct me if I am wrong, Sturion. Reflex, DC13: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17. Sturion takes a solid hit on his shoulder but avoids any other ill effects.
Rikael and Agatha wake up and see the battle starting around them.
Sildur draws his shortspear and gets ready to engage in the fight.
Dru wakes up and stubles about.

Round 2:
Rikael struggles with his blanket, before finally giving up, and standing while grabbing Feybane in its scabbard. The blanket hangs off of his shoulder, blowing in the wind like a cape, and for a second, he looks like an epic hero from legend. Then, he starts to stumble toward the battle, the blanket sliding off.
How long after our nightcap is this? Does he still have his alcoholic benefits? They last for an hour after he imbibes.
GM Deuce
Round 2 update
Thorn looks at the trees while he works off the effects of being asleep.
Urga draws and swings his falchion at the second tree. The attack strikes true and causes the tree to stagger. The tree is clearly splintered and hurt but remains standing.
Sturion continues to go lumberjack on the other frost fir, causing large wounds with his axe. The frost fir staggers noticeably but remains standing.
The second frost fir speaks to his compatriot.
With that, in one large effort, tree2 lashes out at Urga hoping to cause some damage in return. slam: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7. The tree fails to connect with Urga and splinters, falling to the ground. Tree was at 0 HP's and attacked, taking 1 point of damage and putting itself out of the fight.
Tree1, seeing the other tree fall, goes into a frenzy and tries to crush Sturion. slam: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8. The tree falls on top of the dwarf, trying to trap him in an avalanche of branches and needles. reflex check, dc13: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21. Sturion avoids being trapped, but still takes a significant wound. I rolled back the damage from last round because of my confusion about your AC, but 22 definitely hits. Check my math below.
I'm going to call combat over, as both trees are at -1 hp. You all managed to get them both to zero in the same round and I didn't think I could have them retreat successfully either.
Thorn's check revealed information about the sticky resin. If anybody has skills in alchemy or similar endeavors, you can make a skill check to harvest some of the resin. It is usable in crafting or sellable.
It's shortly after 9. You can clean up the battlefield and/or look for the stolen firewood, but you are generally safe for the rest of the night.

Thorn Slivertip
Thorn bounces up scattering bed sheet all over, hooked lance in hand as he remembered the spirits telling him all about Frost Firs.
"These trees are Frost Firs!!! Beware of their sticky resin!!! We nee--oh the battle is over?"
His face flushing as he surveys the battle field.
"Ermm ah...I'll just look for more wood then...." His embarrassment at not having a thing to do drives him to stay away from the others as he moves off after getting his equipment ready , looking for more firewood. He could hear the entire forest's spirits laughing at him..............
Sturion Stoutheart
Sturion emerges from the sticky pile, blowing bits of leaves from his mouth, then looks down...ACH! Me BEARD!...picking a profusion of sticky leaves and twigs from his usually well-groomed beard, he seems almost in tears...until...AOOOWW! Durn, these things hit hard.
Sturion just stands there for a moment, gingerly massaging his crushed shoulder.
Rikael Ashenstone
Rikael stands there, stunned.
Guysh... Did I have too much to drink again? Or did the woodsh really jusht attack ush?
He rubs his eyes and it finally registers what everyone was screaming about.
Frost firs? So these were more allies of the fey? Why did they go for our firewood instead of trying to kill us in our sleep?
Rikael Ashenstone
I have just read the heal skill, so I will also like to treat deadly wounds on them. Its not a big chance but...
[dice=urga] 1d20 + 5 - 2
[dice=sildur] 1d20 + 5 - 2
[dice=thorn] 1d20 + 5 - 2
[dice=rikael] 1d20 + 5 - 2
[dice=myself] 1d20 + 5 - 2neede to make DC20, so rikael gets an extra hp.
the -2 is because I don't have a healers kit.
I recently read a trait that mentions being able to take 20 on this... Perhaps that's something you can do normally?
Sturion Stoutheart
Aye, Rik, tha trees themselves done attacked us. I think they was jus' wantin' us ta freeze ta death.
Sturion is still nursing his injured shoulder.
Mayhaps we should just chop down this accursed wood...or burn it.
Sildur Farwind
Sheathing his spear, Sildur shakes his head, "It's not the wood that's accursed. It's the weather, like the other threats we've seen, these were creatures of the north,no? I'd half thought the stories of fey driving the woods to murder were fiction but it seems otherwise. The sooner we deal with these creatures the sooner we should be safe."
Patting Dru, the ulfen looks in the direction the trees were trying to go for the firewood.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Urga the Ogre Prophet
Urga cleans the resin from his sword. "The trees were animated by dark sorcery. It is the work of the winter witches and their fey minions. We must be weary at all times."
Urga will return to the fire and soon is ready to sleep for the remainder of the night until his shift.
Thorn Slivertip
Thorn returns with a bundle of wood and checks the supply. Once it's enough, he'll return back to his blankets.
Rikael Ashenstone
Rikael, now extremely suspicious of the branches above his head, wraps himself up in his blanket and tries to go back to sleep until his turn on watch.
GM Deuce
Sildur and Thorn are easily able to locate what was once you firewood, scattered just inside the forest behind where the Frost Firs emerged. It is a simple matter to make it back into a pile near the fire.
Everybody seems to settle back into an uneasy rest.
Do you want to do anything else this evening or move on to the morning?
Sildur Farwind
Afraid so. Though you should still regain 1hp from sleeping normally.
With the firewood returned, Sildur crawls into his bedroll and fall asleep in short order.
GM Deuce
Yes, Sturion. Everybody was tapped out for healing after the day. You can ask for some healing in the morning or wait until you need it more. That's part of the trade-off, by design.
The rest of the night passes without incident. About the time 600 rolls around, you are all stirring and getting ready for the day ahead.
The trail continues ahead of you, farther up into the Border Wood just as the captured bandit said it would. Feel free to make preparations, decide on which spells you are going to prepare, and the like before moving on.
