I feel horrible that I've knocked two of Tyler's characters out back to back like that. It was a sucky haunt and the save roll was crappy. He could have survived on a 12 or higher!
FYI, goblins have the worst Will saves ever!
Tyler, go ahead and whip up a replacement. I'm sure we can find a way to wedge in a goblin that just so happened to be too curious for his own good and wandered into the manor. :)

Eh, it was a fitting end for such a brash goblin. LOL
Alright, let's see... what else have I wanted to play recently? Perhaps I'll find something in Agents of Evil that will strike my fancy...

Ended up switching to an Occultist Arcanist. This way i'm not doing a pet class, and I can do some really fun things with summoned creatures. :-D
Here's the link to my google docs sheet. If you approve, I'll put it into a profile and you can introduce her whenever.
Gobbo Arcanist
Also, how much gold? Last time I rebuilt, I got 5200gp, but that was at 3rd level I believe. Normal wealth for a 5th level is 10,500gp. Might be a little high, though.

Can't a spellbook have pictures? Worst-case, though, I can be an Unlettered arcanist so that my spells are stored in my familiar instead, I would just have to use the Witch spell list.
My plan with this character is to collect scrolls but hardly ever cast them, instead she'll eat them to regain arcane points. :-D
GM Captain Trips
I think unlettered would definitely fit better. Its strange enough to have a smart AND charismatic goblin, but then throw in the whole writing thing. From an RP perspective you'd be challenged with the others in the group being constantly exposed to your soul stealing book of doom. They might just decide to eat you to prevent such vileness from being loosed upon the world. :)

Nah, we wouldn't eat him... Bart'd just keep eating his spellbooks... lol

Oh and just so you know my concept here, Agna Beastchucker likes to summon small creatures with her summon monster spell-like ability, then cast touch spells on the small creatures and throw them at her enemies, delivering the spells with them (thanks to Proxy Summoning).
GM Captain Trips
Man, I just read over Conjurer's Focus, and it seems terribly broken. Giving up a piddly exploit at first level to gain, in essence, the Summoner's complete Summon Monster SLA seems like a bit much. Basically you could summon monster I 8 times per day, not to mention methods to regain focus, as well as every other ability an Arcanist has.
The ability is actually BETTER than what a Summoner gets, because you can recharge it. How in the world did this pass QA? Compare it to ANY other exploit and it is hands down the best one any character could take.
I'll see how it goes, but I reserve the right to pull the archtype if it seems out of control. :)
Agna Beastchucker
Fair enough, though if the archetype goes I'll have to change the whole character concept, so I hope you don't end up hating it!
I do think that having to use the Witch spell list will be a significant balancing factor for this build, since there are much fewer damage-dealing touch spells on the Witch list. I'm basically planning to use the summon SLA, and then cast a touch spell on one of the summoned creatures each round and send it in as a dive-bomber to deliver the spell. I'm hoping that Augment Summoning will boost them enough to actually hit the touch AC of most enemies. If you look at my current spell list, you'll see that most of these are the inflict spells (which also allow a Will save for half damage) or debuffs (like touch of idiocy).

Just realized I'm short changing her just a bit... She actually uses summon monster III at 5th level (same as a summoner)

I plan to eat at least one of the fluffy delicious animals he summons if that helps.

Sorry for the extended absence without notice, folks. The family member that had congestive heart failure has been moved to a permanent care facility and I am one of the ones tasked with emptying her apartment and sorting through her things. I've been spending every day working from 8 AM to about 8 PM at that, then coming home and doing work for the convention that I am helping put on in a month. We have to get this done as soon as possible, because they want to rent out the apartment. I don't know how long this is going to take, but it shouldn't be more than another week, tops. I don't blame anyone for dropping me, or dropping out of my game, but I hope you will stick with it.

Stay with us, please... we love our Torchy! Maybe Trips can bot you til you can return...
Agna Beastchucker
@Trips: If you have Agna stumble upon the group now, I think she could be of aid to Kovak and keep him from killing himself or permanently harming his Charisma... she could at least heal him a bit.
Agna Beastchucker
Oh it's totally fine, I just know it'll take him like 14 days of bedrest to get all that Charisma back and be able to cast spells again, and that will be really tough for this group... :-P

Bart is bestest divine spellcaster!

Bart's plan is current to go back outside and regroup before continuing further into this accursed house.

same here, so limited gaming this weekend is fine with me... and I'll only have slight withdrawal symptoms *gasp*

Just a note, looking at where we are the current gameplay thread is in your hands. Obviously you have introductions and whatnot to make. Once you are ready to head back into the house you are free to do so.
@Kovak - You will heal 1 point of CHA damage per day of rest outside the house, 2 per day if someone uses Heal checks to aid your recovery, but you all really don't have a week to sit around and wait. You may have to make do with a reduced stat for a while.
I'll say the party can get away with 2 days rest at the camp outside the house. The Heal check to help Kovak recover would be a DC 13. You should be able to go back through the gameplay thread and count up the CHA damage, but I think it was around 9-11 points total. I could be off there a bit.
