Hey all. Long time no see :)
I was talking with GM RR today about possibly dropping back into the game now that real life has sorted itself out for the better. I've picked up running a few games since returning but am itching to get back in the player's seat.
He let me know that you all had a pair of players joining up soon and I wanted to check in to see if you all knew of anything that would be a good fit for the group. Obviously I'd be happy to drop Ruke back in after a long period of conning the locals out of their gold, but I'd probably do a little restructuring on him before doing so.
Good to see the game is still moving along and you all are closing in on the end of book 1!

Hey Ruke - good to see you back! We're definitely in the market for another player, and all the better to have a familiar face. I think you can build whatever character you want.
Ruke Brightonspinner
Hey, its not my fault you posted while I was typing my response! :)
I'll see what kind of nonsense I can come up with from a divine caster perspective. I was leaning that way to begin with, so that makes it easier. Of course, it may leave Ruke a bit "modified". :)
Silvio Errico
Sweet, need to find some time to level, but it shouldn't be too hard for a rogue.
Ruke Brightonspinner
Ruke is trying to avoid overlap and at the same time provide some much needed divine support to help keep Staryth from having to serve as party healer. :)
I'm working on a second idea, but right now the character I've pitched to RR isn't Ruke at all.
Ruke Brightonspinner
Mainly that Ruke isn't overly impressive in a fight and him and Silvio have a lot of overlap being skill based characters. You have some inspire as well, but thats really not my main concern. I'm still trying to hammer him out as a divine character but halfling is a tough race for that without giving up a lot.
Ruke Brightonspinner
Correct, original Ruke was a Dawnflower Dervish, until I found out that type of bard didnt get inspire, and dropped the archtype.
However, I think a pure divine caster is going to make a good difference to the group, and would rather try to give that a shot. I've got a pretty fun oracle worked up that will really help with buffs and support skills, as well as the obligatory healing part. RR is going to have a look once he gets freed up and I'll probably tune it a bit before the end product.
That being said, the character is not purely healing devoted, so having plenty of ability for healing is beneficial. With Staryth and Lucius also having some abilities there we should be golden.

HP: 1d8 ⇒ 8 Woohoo!
Level 4:
+10HP
+1 Ref
+1 Dex
Uncanny Dodge
Rogue Trait: Weapon Focus: Dueling Sword
+9 skill points - to be determined.
Silvio Errico
Skill points spent as follows:
Acrobatics
Bluff
Disable Device
Intimidate
Knowledge (nobility)
Perception
Sense Motive x2
Stealth
My current thinking is to take a level of Swashbuckler next, and then go into the Aldori Swordlord prestige class for a bit.

I'm glad to see a divine caster popping into the party, because the upcoming parts would be a bit rough without one.
RR, without spoiling anything, can you be more specific about what might be rough? Obviously some ideas on what kind of divine goodness they could use is gonna help me! :)

I'll just say this: Make sure you can cast Remove Disease. That is all.
By the way, were you guys planning on making use of the wand of ghoul touch and the robe of bones, or do you intend to turn them in with the church? The bounty for turning in an unholy magical item is equal to the typical sales price; that being said, the city laws would probably turn a blind eye to heroes using such items for the good of all.

Considering thats a 3rd level spell, we wouldn't be able to touch that till 5th level. My guess is we would be seeing it at 6th if I go the oracle route. There are always scrolls and such.
That clue makes me very worried, lol. This isn't Mummy's Mask! :)

Yep, I also have aid and if you have any divine scrolls, I am very good at using them.

Hey all, posting this to all my games because I don't have much time:
I'll be very busy today; I'm on the tail end of my software engineering studies, and today is the commitment ceremony for the Quebecois Engineers' Organization.
As you can guess, this will leave me little time for PbP.
See you all tomorrow!

Groovy. Trying to catch up on the story as time permits. A lot happened since Ruke was running around on the docks with most of these guys. :)

Worked out pretty well that while we are both charisma based casters, one is bluff focused and the other works the diplomacy angle. Hopefully that will help.
And both can make respectable healers as well as being able to toss some solid support spells around.

Wanted to give everyone an update on my schedule for the next few weeks, since I'm about to hit convention season full stride.
I am supporting or running conventions this weekend, next weekend, and the first weekend in May. Basically what that means is I'll be doing prep in the evenings, starting tonight, and will be mostly unavailable between Friday and Sunday of those weekends.
After this spat of weekends I will also be gone the first week of June supporting Origins and the last week of July for GenCon. During those two weeks it is likely I will have no time to post, and those specific conventions run from Wednesday to Sunday.
If I'm introduced to the group by then please GMPC me as needed! :)
