Vladek Odradek |
I thought that was implied, yes. There isn't much else I can do.
Karu the Kobold Strider |
Like I said, I assumed that is what you wanted but you could have had Qadathra do any number of things, so it is better to double check.

Vladek Odradek |
That's what I want.
As for Grimdoc, he did say we may need to/could puppeteer him if necessary.
Brother Grimdoc |
Ali, I ain't liking our position here. Either I need to stand where you are or we need to pick up Vlad and get back into the woods out of this here ship. This hall is not very defensible.
Grimdoc is looking to move out in the hall...
Is the circle blob visible to him or did it move into the wall per the pink arrow? Based upon the descriptions, it sounds like there are no visible targets. Correct?
GM Bold Strider |
He's been pretty good, so I don't mind waiting 24 hours for his post.
@Grimdoc: The arrow is pointing to where the creature moved through the wall, so I will move you to your chosen space with no visible creatures.
As if it seems to wish to harass you further, the creature appears on the far side of the group, near Joesef.
As it stands at the end of the hallway, it raises its hands high and you begin to see images in your mind of your violent death. You float through the far reaches of space, trapped in a metal box, knowing that you only have a few moments left of air before you begin to suffocate.
Fear per the spell on the entire party. Please make Will Saves.
As it infuses you with this thought, you see its mouth curl up into a wicked grin before it disappears back to the north.

Joesef/Grimdoc/Ali/Vladek/Qadathra - Will Save against a Necromancy effect (Mind-Affecting/Emotion/Fear/SLA)
Grimdoc - +3 HP if not panicked

Vladek's Will save (if necessary, since he's still unconscious): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
If Qadathra made his save, he heals me and I quaff the cure serious wounds potion, using prior rolls.
Can I retcon having given Grimdoc my Ward Hex? If I'd known he had a Cloak of Resistance +3 and a Ring of Protection +1, I wouldn't have given it to him, and Qadathra would still have it, meaning his above Will save would be 3 higher. I plea on the grounds of "character knowledge VS player knowledge."
Brother Grimdoc |
Grimdoc did not realize he had the hex and had not planned to use it in any event, so feel free to reapply it, GM allowing
Grimdoc's frustration shows as he tries to ward off the fear.

The dwarf then moves forward to see where the sneaking elf went.
Vladek Odradek |
If he's made the Will save, Vladek will NOW drink the potion, bringing him to 35 hit points, and since things have changed a bit, Qadathra (if he's made the save) will perch on Vladek's shoulder and ready his scorching ray wand for the next time either of those two show up.

Ali goes running from the ship as fast as he can....
Not sure which direction he runs. Also, did Ali's readied action go off from last round?
GM Bold Strider |
@Vladek: This one time I will allow you to retcon the Ward back on to Qadathra, but looking up Grimdoc's gear (which I did when you transferred the Ward) to see if it will be effective is on you. He has a very neat Character Sheet, so I am reticent to do it, however it makes no difference in this scenario as Qadathra still fails the save and the Ward will dissipate.
1d20 ⇒ 13
Just before succumbing to mind-numbing fear, Ali sends out a blast from his wand, but the arcane missile merely dissipates before it can strike the space elf.
Grimdoc stays strong, but the remaining four Pathfinders all begin to cower and weep in fear as the dwarf brings the blubbering Vladek back to consciousness and he realizes that his concussed dream is actually a nightmare that he is still living.
Grimdoc moves to the edge of the room and fails to see the space elf at the moment so he tries to call out to the group to warn them, but they are almost crazy with fear at this point and begin to choose their direction to run.
@Feared People: The safety of outside the ship is alluring but it is also the direction from where you last saw the space elf, so I am going to roll randomly for everyone to see where you run to. Space Elf Room = 1; Library = 2; Bridge = 3; Captain's Quarters = 4; Outside = 5/6. I figure that fearful people might overcome their fear to rush outside, so I am giving you a 33% chance to flee to safety.

Grimdoc takes a wild swipe at the creature, choosing to declare it an undead. The creature scowls as Grimdoc as the man strikes it, but the hammer does much less than expected, likely due to its incorporeal nature. Additionally, he thinks that his holy judgment had no effect.
You realize that it is not an Undead.
Ali and Qadathra continue to flee towards town as Vladek cowers in the room, merely able to watch the fight.
Since Joesef cannot see the space elf and knows that there is safety outside, I will give him a 50% chance to begin running to safety.

@Grimdoc: Despite being untrained, you rolled very well, so I'll give it to you. This creature is not summoned or called and would not be hindered by Prot. from Evil.
Grimdoc moves out into the hallway as he shifts his bane to target Evil Outsider. Choosing to try and save himself from death, he imbues his body with some regenerative magicks as he calls out for the team to flee.
I will give a +10 percent chance for Joesef and Vladek to flee since you are calling for them and the creature isn't visible.

Joesef/Grimdoc - Will Save against Curse.
Joesef Deadwillow |
You could have rolled the Will Save if you wanted since Joesef is not really getting a turn. I don't mind DM rolls.
Will!: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
If this keeps up I may even prefer them.
Joesef Deadwillow |
:( Sorry your rolls aren't great, but I don't want to roll everything for everyone! Then, I'm just playing by myself! I honestly thought you would pass the Will Save for the fear since you have a +12 against it, but, sadly, you haven't. Though, it seems Joesef is safely outside now!
Just in the interest of keeping the game moving. If I had the ability to take actions I'd want to roll myself, even if I suck at it, LOL. Just saying I don't mind.
GM Bold Strider |
@Joesef: Ah! Yes, I understand. That I don't mind doing if you don't post and everyone who can act has acted, but, to be honest, the effects of this curse are more long term and you are already to safety, so I don't mind letting you roll, though I think I might have rolled better than a 3.

GM Bold Strider |
As Grimdoc decides to cut losses and flee, he quickly catches up with the fleeing Joesef and tries to calm the man down, but the blonde man is running as fast as he can. To remind him of his choices, Grimdoc can hear the ear-piercing scream of Vladek as the space elf undoubtedly kills the fellow Pathfinder.
Ali and Qadathra continue to flee at full speed as Grimdoc spots something in the distance. Two giant vultures are picking at a corpse. The dwarf hoofs it over there with his quickened pace and knocks one of the creatures with his hammer, sending both back into the sky, though they stick around and circle the fresh meat.
Grimdoc notices that this is the Captain and frowns. Deciding to at least make use of his gear, the dwarf grabs his pack and strips him quickly of his cloak, rings and headband.
Curse Effect - Wisdom Drain: 1d4 ⇒ 4 Also Fatigued
By the time the fear effect wears off, the group is about a mile from the crash site and Ali and Qadathra quickly return to moving back towards the ship, but only find Grimdoc and Joesef.

Ali comes tramping back towards the ship, deciding that the ending was not ideal and that he needed an encore to really finish up the show. "Well, that was... wait, where's the other one? With the pointy ears? Should we... go back? That space elf thing was absolutely terrifying. I don't think I could face it again, not without some rest."
Joesef Deadwillow |
Go back? Are you mad? Joesef doesn't want any part of that space elf at the moment.
OK, looks like we have quite a bit of repair work to do so that we can retrieve our friend and have another go at this. Seems I need a remove curse and possibly some type of restoration?
GM Bold Strider |
Back on the ship, Vladek cowers before the space elf, trying to dodge the incoming swipes of pain that the elf knows are imminent. Since he is cornered, he dares not to move, hoping that cowering will quell the creature, but it still inexorably moves forward and shoves its hand through the elf's chest.

We gots to go back and help get Vlad back. I could not live with myself if I knew he had been turned into an undead...or not undead...whatever that spooky-space-elf was. I hope Vlad is not one.
Grimdoc will show the gear from the captain.
I guess the captain ran for it...I was afraid he was going to gang up on us too. I found some diamond dust...that may be helpful when we go back. We need to come up with a strategy for fighting that space elf and I am so far gone, I cannot make it back tonight.
Grimdoc will do whatever Ali and Joesef are willing. He will use the rest of his spells to heal himself or them, once they are back together and well away from the ship.

"I must admit, the tricks I had practiced for today are not particularly entertaining to that audience. And my wands must be misfiring today. I can't think of any tricks... if I could pull off that disappearing trick like the Captain, maybe... but I haven't incorporated that one into my show yet." Ali shakes his head. "I really don't think there's anything I can do if that thing comes back. At best I would be a distraction while you grabbed his body and ran and I don't like the thought of that."
Brother Grimdoc |
Ah just like back home! Hail and well met my brothers. The blessings of old Dead Eye be upon ye!
Grimdoc will greet them as is customary for a fellow follower of Erastil.
From his experience with Erastil and large cities, about how affluent is this town/temple? Is it likely to have someone of level to cast raise dead?
We seek healing and removals of curses for a few of us. And we hope to come back with an elf in more dire straights. He may need the services of the high priest and some diamond dust, if you get my meaning.
Grimdoc will arrange for purchases of Inquisitor spells, if available.
Scroll or potion of invisibility, 2x Holy Weapon Balm, 2x Remove Fear, Locate Object, Death Ward.
He will also see if he can gain access to the highest level priest to cast remove curse for Joesef and/or Ali (if needed).
GM Bold Strider |
"Well met, brother. It has been a while since I have seen a warrior dwarf through these parts. Usually we only recieve the traders." the priest says jovially. "As for your requests, Dustpawn is a small town, so we are not quite as capable as the big city clerics, however we should be able to help." remarks the priest as he bows and calls to his acolytes.
They have spellcasting up to 4th level, so everything is available save the Raise Dead from the priest.
As Grimdoc rattles off the services needed, the priest nods and waves his hand to the blonde acolyte who rushes off and returns with four scrolls and two vials. "I believe that we can help you with all of your written needs, but the Invisibility potion or scroll is not part of our repertoire." adds the priest as he writes a receipt down for the group to look over before purchasing.
375 GP for a Scroll of Locate Object; 750 GP for a Scroll of Death Ward; 60 GP for two Holy Weapon Balm; and 50 GP for two Scrolls of Remove Fear. As for healing, how about 4d6 Channel Energy for 280 GP (equivalent to a 4th level spell cast) or you can buy Cures at the appropriate prices.
As Grimdoc speaks of the curse, the priest grows worried and scans over the party and appears relieved. "Only the blonde man, Joesef is it, is affected. I can try to cleanse the curse, but it might become expensive." he remarks.
Want me to roll for his Remove Curse until it succeeds?
1d6 ⇒ 3
3d100 ⇒ (74, 19, 20) = 113
"Also, you mentioned that you may need to revive someone?" remarks the priest. "I believe that we have a Scroll of Raise Dead in the back. We save it for Elladas as she tends to get herself into binds, but I'm sure that she would support us in its sale as long as it was for the proper price."
6,125 GP for the Scroll of Raise Dead, I believe.
"We will prepare Restorations tomorrow in expectance of your friend." the priest says with a bow of the head as the brown-haired acolyte rushes off to find the last scroll.
