So far, we're gonna get charged, apparently. :)

No problem -- thanks for the head's up.
Kilthan Hammerstone
That depends on who the head belongs to...

Well, whether or not you are a Patriots hater, you have to admit that was one heck of a football game. I cannot imagine a game with a bigger emotional swing than the last 2:02 in that one.
Kilthan Hammerstone
Well, as far as reasonable justifications go, I think that's pretty high up there. ;)

Had mine out at 26. Didn't realize it was anything serious (never really paid attention to medical/biology/icky sciences). Called my soon to be better half. Said I was driving myself to the hospital to have my appendix out. Was told, very sternly, that I was not going anywhere until I had someone to drive me there. Suppose it was all for the best as I am still alive and we are still together 19 years later.

If anyone is interested in trying a Way of the Wicked campaign, I am in one that needs 1-2 more players. DM seems dedicated and most of the players are interesting.
It is a gestalt campaign using a focus/foible modified system 18 & 8, 15 point buy for other 4 stats.

So after being crazy swamped at work, then missing last week with my son's surgery, I returned to pandemonium today, with me having limited time to get ready for my road trip tomorrow. The day wasn't done and the call came to get my son because he has lice.
So things seem to be conspiring against me right now. Lately I haven't had time to post, though I have wanted to, last week I had time but not the urge.
So for the next 2 weeks I am walking away and letting things settle down and then get back into the swing of things again in March.
FYI, I have finished my sign up for GaryCon in Lake Geneva at the end of March, if anyone is coming.

No problems, GMBlood. Recharge your batteries.

Two years ago I made it to Prezcon in Charlottesville and met the Iron Crown Enterprises folks after many years. They had the right to all of the middle earth materials and made the Rolemaster materials we played for a while when we wanted to roll lots of dice and have really long and lethal combats while running around middle earth :-)
Have fun at GaryCon and we can wait for your return. I am very tempted to try and get to Lake Geneva for old times sake.

So I am happy to announce we have finished Age of Worms in my home game! We probably would have gone one more game session but we kind of fast forwarded to the end and completed the campaign! I don't have the exact date of when we started but it had to have been in early 2009, so it was pretty much a 6 year campaign that included out first game using 3.5 rules, our second game Pathfinder BETA, and our third game the Core Rules and adding as we went on.
We stopped early to watch Wrath of Khan for a Leonard Nimoy tribute. (for a surreal feeling at the end)
We have been talking for awhile on doing pirate game next, so it looks like we will be starting Skull and Shackles in June! Potentially using the Kirthfinder alternate rules.

Congrats. I would ask to join your home game, but that 20 hour drive from New Hampshire to western Wisconsin really eats up gaming time.
EDIT - Lol, I guessed the 20 hours. Don't recall exactly where you are, but I checked out the driving time to La Cross and it is 19 hours and 59 minutes to La Cross according to Google Maps. Pretty good guess if you are in that area.

My home game did Serpent's Skull in about five years and just finished a couple months ago. That was a bear to GM as it was a rather poorly designed adventure path that switches between sandbox to railroad regularly without developing the sandboxes nearly well enough or accounting for the appropriate paths to gain gold and experience.
That said, I've now handed over the GMing to my younger brother and he has started us on Shattered Star.

I've never played through any of them, so I can't speak to much beyond the beginning of the APs.
I will say, however, that I've found a few to be somewhat disappointing -- or maybe it's more fair to say that there seems to be a disconnect between how the adventures start and what's said in the Player's Guides.
My home games have, historically, been homebrews -- the current campaign is set in Lastwall -- the party's a group of wannabe heroes 'hired' to win back lands ceded to the Orcs of Belkzen. Of course, we had to restart when the "old" party all basically got themselves killed -- so we turned back time somewhat and started the new group as a copycat group based out of Everstand (where the original group was based out of Firrine.)

Also, in a somewhat more game-related note, next time we have a touch of downtime, I'd appreciate if Rohara could cast Continual Flame on something for Kilthan (a stone or a cp or something that I can keep in a pouch) -- as much as being able to adapt myself into darkvision is useful, I'm thinking sometimes I may want to use a different adaptation (amphibious, for instance).

So, I return to Pathfinder after a long layoff, with only a few years of 3 and 3.5 D&D sprinkled in between my massive playing in college and post college. When I checked out Pathfinder I loved the idea of APs. I immediately started my subscription with Jade Regent, but I only read Mummy's Mask because I wanted to go through them fresh.
An epic campaign planned from level 1, what could be better? Unfortunately my PbP games die before getting out of Book One, most barely make it halfway through book one. That is why this one is so special.
Anyway, Kingmaker seems the most popular, but I haven't been through them far enough to make an informed decision. Reign of Winter and Skulls and Shackles seemed the most thematically interesting, but alas, I have never made it out of Book One with either of them :-(
But, now, for me Age of Worms has been awesome!! The first maze was great, with the little boy ghost at the end. A tragic love story and we bring back the lady. Three evil temples sharing an underground hideout. And, a gladiatorial free for all to top it off.

Snazzy, thanks. :) I'll mark an Everburning Somethingorother on my sheet (CL 9, L3). Went with a pebble -- fits nicely in a pouch.

Wasn't sure I could find a fist-sized gem to use -- and besides, I can close my hand around this to dim the light.
Plus, really, I'm sure there's like 90 different dwarven words for rock.

I just picked up Leinenkugel Big Butt Doppelbock, and, having been to Bavaria, it is an awesome dark beer. Better than Becks for sure.
GM Blood has probably had it, but, if not, get it today!!
Aarakess Halcorn
Doppelbock - 7-13% - even the weak stuff has a pretty good kick.

Apologies to everyone for not posting more than I have. I have been dealing with some family issues for the last week or so and have not been in the frame of mind to post much of anything lately. I have been keeping up and with things going on have not had any ideas that might help the current situation in game either. I am hoping things will be resolved to a state that I can get back into that frame of mind where I can again enjoy the game with you all.

Happy Birthday. I remember being so happy to get in AoW2 and, had I known at the time it would be my only game destined to progress past level 4, I would have been even more excited.
It has been everything I expected and more. Rohara, best wishes and hopes things work out IRL. This game would not be the same without you. And Patrick, much thanks for filling in and being immediately part of the team.
I see in one of the threads claims that only four APs have finished on these boards. I know I am enjoying the AoW ride we have had. It seems only yesterday we were spinning coffins to get into a maze and fight wolves and figure out what torches to light.
Thanks David for an awesome game. If I ever get to Wisconsin the Leineys are on me.
Aarakess Halcorn
Yup, it has been a fun ride, even if it has shortened me by 2 feet. I am lucky enough to have several campaigns that are pushing 3-4 years. Level wise, this is tied for 2nd right now with two others (I have one or two where the DM skipped levels, so those don't count.)
Anyway, keep up the good work. Lets get another 9 levels under our belt in the next 3 years.
