Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

Well, it's one of my primary character builds... The 1st one I posted, actually. I thought about making a Dex-based Oracle as well... Don't remember why I dropped the concept, actually. :/

To cover what the cleric can do whe need healing (so a lot of wand of cure light wounds), recovery from ability damage (scrolls?) and a way to deal with undeads...there should be a way for inquisitors to deal with that.

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

Wands of CLW and Lesser Restoration are cheap. 750gp a piece (Thank You, Paladins!). Dealing with undead is as simple as dealing with the living... Hit it 'til it stops moving! ^^

I dunno... If anyone wants to be an Inquisitor, I'll go with the Oracle. Otherwise, I'll keep the Inquisitor. Both are equally cool builds, IMO.

Female Aassimar (Lawbringer) Fighter 5/ Spellbreaker 1 - Hp: 62 - AC: 32( 29 FF, 15 touch) - CMD: 24 - Saves: +10,+7,+10 - Darkvision 60 ft - Perception +12 , S motive +12- Init +2

Finished.

Male Goblin Vivisectionist Trap Breaker 10

We'll likely have a Bloodrager as well in the group.

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

As a Drow, could I switch my proficiency with rapiers and short swords for proficiency with wakizashis?

Lemmy wrote:

Sure

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

Cool.

You know... It's surprisingly difficult to find a good drow image. At least one that is not wearing some variation of chainmail bikini.

Finding an image here is always a pain. Specially elves, Golarion elves are weird.

Nicos wrote:

True. I have to keep reminding myself that they have weird eyes and bunny ears and are taller than humans for some reason (every other fantasy game I ever played said they were shorter than humans, but okay).

So has anyone locked in a character they definitely want to play? I'm flexible as to what role to fill if we need a base covered (Like *shudder* opening chests).

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

I have a melee Inquisitor and a Dex-based Oracle... So, one of those. Which one depends on what everyone else will play.

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

Oh, gods... I just realized drows have SR.

Can I switch it for something else or just not have it? SR is a pain in the ass. -.-'

BTW, I created the profile for my two possible characters already.

That remember me that bloodrager archetype that lose spellcasting (and I think bloodline powers) and gains SR, who can think that is a good trade?

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

I have no idea... SR is the kind of thing that makes me completely drop a concept.

How come there's no rogue/wizard in pathfinder? Is there?

Mercheros wrote:

Closest thing is a Bard... There is the Arcane Trickster PrC, but I don't think it's very good...

Bards are pretty good on the other hand. you are a wizard a rogue and you coudl even be a fighter at the same time.

Arcane Trickster could be good. Just avoid using Rogue to qualify for it like the plague.

Ok, so I've got a Witch , a Brawler/bloodrager and a Wizard/investigator.

Male Gnome Wizard 2/Investigator 1 HP:19/19 AC:15 (tch:15 FF:10) CMB:-1 CMD:+2 Fort:+3 Ref:+6 Will:+3 LowLight Perception:+8 Sens motive:+4 Init:+3

Ok, i'm definitely going to play this illusionist/investigator. I've got a wand of cure light to help with healing while i'm causing distractions, plus trapfinding.

Come one people! i wnat hte zombie apocalypse :(

Male Goblin Vivisectionist Trap Breaker 10

Dont make me break out the iconics!

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

I already have my builds... Which one I'll use depends entirely on what everyone else is playing.

Unless I can't remove the drow's SR. In that case I'll just makemy alternate a Tiefling or Aasimar.

I'm debating whether to give you +2 vs spells and spell-like abilities or do you just not want the SR?

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Seems a fair trade. EX Dwarves trade Hardy (+2 vs spells, spell-likes, and poison) for SR and a -2 to Arcane Concentration checks.

So a +2 to saves vs spells (no poison) seems equivalent in power.

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

If I can get something in exchange, that's great. If not, I'm okay with just removing the SR.

SR sucks.

Male Goblin Vivisectionist Trap Breaker 10

Let's go with just remove the SR.

There is also the houserule of using SR the old editions way. AKA, it works again harmful spell only.

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

I'm okay just removing it. That's enough of an improvement for me.

Also, I got a free week! :D

BTW, right now we have:

- A ranged Slayer
- A S&B Fighter
- A Wizard/Investigator

I think I'll go with Hoeen, the melee Inquisitor.

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

How often will the characters be travelling? I know you said the game play is somewhat based on Kingmaker, but I never played that AP, and kingdom building can range from a small town to a whole continent, so I'm not sure what to expect.

BTW, as a half-orc, can I replace my proficiency with Falchions for the Additional Traits feat? I kinda want the traits "Birthmark" and "Enemy of the Undead" for flavor. :)

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

Hey, when you guys have the time, please, take a look and tell me what you think of this:

Lemmy's Revised Monk for Pathfinder

It's somewhat based on a few other homebrew... Including some of my own, and some of a friend of mine.

Cheers.

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

Anyone there...? It's taking quite a while for people to post their builds. oO

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Sorry, this week has not been a great week for building characters. I've been like half done since Monday. I'm off work today, I'll try to finish it either tonight, or tomorrow afternoon (only working 9 to 4 instead of 4-11:30. I actually like the shift itself but it plays merry hell with my free time).

Male Goblin Vivisectionist Trap Breaker 10

Ive been playing Destiny =P

We could like a mini prologue, please :)

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

I got a lot of free time this week, so it might just be me being impatient. :P

BTW, no comments on my Monk homebrew? :(

Male Gnome Wizard 2/Investigator 1 HP:19/19 AC:15 (tch:15 FF:10) CMB:-1 CMD:+2 Fort:+3 Ref:+6 Will:+3 LowLight Perception:+8 Sens motive:+4 Init:+3

Hmm, why..why does your monk have fly as a class skill?

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

I think it would make it feel more wuxia-esque if the Monk was good at flying (assuming he gets a Fly speed at some point).

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

I just realized that a Cleric of Shizuru can make a really fun undead hunter! Especially if he's an Aasimar.

Questions:

1- Could I use this class variant?

Universal Unarmed Class Variant:
- Evasive Maneuvers: You can exchange your armor and shield proficiency to instead be able to add a Dodge bonus to AC equal to your Int, Wis or Cha modifier (whichever you select at 1st level) when not donning armor or shield of any kind. If your class has proficiency with medium armor, this bonus increases by +1 at 6th level and every 6 levels thereafter. If your class has proficiency with heavy armor, this bonus increases by +1 at 4th level and every 4 levels thereafter. This bonus does not stack with other class features that allow you to add Wis, Int or Cha bonus to AC, unless said class features allows the character to replace her Dex bonus to AC.

- Unarmed Combat: You get the IUS feat and your Unarmed Strike damage die rises to 1d6 (1d4 if you're small). You're considered to have the Stunning Fist feat for the purpose of fulfilling prerequisites.

2- Would you allow me to use katanas with Weapon Finesse? If yes, could I spend an additional feat to apply Wis to damage instead of Str, similar to this feat:

Celestial Fist:
Through insight and discipline, you learned to harm your opponents by attacking them with precise strikes and superior martial techniques rather than brute strength.

Prerequisites: BAB +1 or Monk level 1; Improved Unarmed Strike; Weapon Finesse; Wis 15.
Benefit: When attacking with unarmed strikes, natural attacks, monk weapons or your deity's favored weapon, you can apply your Wisdom modifier to damage rolls instead of your Strength modifier. This bonus is not increased by any condition or ability that would allow you to add 1.5x your Strength modifier to damage rolls (such as wielding a weapon 2-handed or using the Dragon Style feat), nor is it reduced for off-hand attacks.

3- Could I trade a 1st level Domain power for a single trait?

4- Can we, please, please, please, get rid of Combat Expertise? Please? With sugar, honey and strawberries on top... Please?

PS: I know I ask a lot, because I keep trying to do stuff the rules aren't very helpful with (in this case, I'm trying to go for a Monk/Cleric thing similar to the one from Diablo 3). Anyway, feel free to say no as often as you see fit. I promise it won't hurt my feelings... ^^

Unless you say Rumormonger is required to spread rumors... Then my hatred shall be limitless!

Male Gnome Wizard 2/Investigator 1 HP:19/19 AC:15 (tch:15 FF:10) CMB:-1 CMD:+2 Fort:+3 Ref:+6 Will:+3 LowLight Perception:+8 Sens motive:+4 Init:+3

Where's this celestial fist feat from? Is that homebrew?

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

It is. It's part of my Monk homebrew. I like it because it's not as powerful as Dex-to-damage but is more thematic and less restrictive than "you can only use it with this one weapon" (I hate pointless restrictions)... Besides it can already be done with Guided weapons.

Male Goblin Vivisectionist Trap Breaker 10

1- Yes
2- No, not with katanas.
3- What trait?
4- Sure, power attack and Combat Expertise will merely be part of the combat system and maneuver feats no longer require them as prerequisites as well as the stat requirements.

What do you all want to do for the prologue? I hadn't exactly planned on doing a prologue and just wanted to jump right into this.

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

1- Thanks
2- But... But... Rurouni Kenshin! And Shizuru's favored weapon...*tears up... manly tears, somehow...*
3- Birthmark, I think.
4- Yay!

5- Prologue-related question: I think just a general description of where we are at the start of the campaign would suffice. Like in Blackest Scale, Myrial and One Step Beyond.

Male Goblin Vivisectionist Trap Breaker 10
Lemmy wrote:

3- Yes.

5- The Stolen Lands, south of Brevoy is where our unnamed fallen bastion Skimmer base is. Very much literally an undead kingmaker.

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Is Undead Crusader a valid Trait choice? The PFSRD seems to have it listed both as a Mummy's Mask Campaign Trait, and also being from People of the Sands.

If not, I'll go with Undead Slayer and Hunter's Blood (I need Kn. Religion as a class skill somehow).

Male Goblin Vivisectionist Trap Breaker 10
Rynjin wrote:

Yes that's fine, but Hunter's Blood is vastly more flavorful =P

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

It is at that, but I'd feel awkward using it without slinging a whip...

I'll think about it. If there's no other traits that catch my eye, I'll take that and Undead Slayer.

Also quick question, in your estimation is Dustbringer (Assassinate vs Undead) going to be a worthwhile ability? It seems cool, so I took that, but if not (or the campaign is unlikely to go to 10th) I might swap out the Slayer levels for Sanctified Slayer levels.

Edit: Also, do we have anyone with Disable Device?

Male Gnome Wizard 2/Investigator 1 HP:19/19 AC:15 (tch:15 FF:10) CMB:-1 CMD:+2 Fort:+3 Ref:+6 Will:+3 LowLight Perception:+8 Sens motive:+4 Init:+3

Monks get temple sword.. your temple just happens to have temple swords that appear to resemble katanas but with holy trinkets and inscriptions. The only advantage to katanas is a one step crit increase and deadly but temple sword gets trip! Trip I think is way more versatile in this setting.

Male Human Dungeon Master 10/ Munchkin 10

Could I use a Wakizashi and just reflavor it as a Katana? (I need the proficiency, and that's also the favored weapon of Shizuru).

Puzzler Waldorf wrote:

Trip (the combat maneuver) is fun. Trip (the weapon property) is completely useless. (And TBH, I don't even know what the Deadly property does).

The requests are for a possible Cleric character I thought of. Clerics don't get proficiency with Temple Swords.
