Hello all!
As you might gather by taking a glance at his profile, Danbaris is not a very likable fellow. He is probably known amongst the other halflings as a coward and a sycophant. Both are true, more or less, but his main motivation has always been to worm his way into the master's good graces, to better wreak his vengeance upon the slavers. I imagine his role as a "personal assistant" (whatever that means, exactly) would allow him access to some places the others would not be allowed to be in.
His worship of Norgorber and Thamir Gixx would probably be something of an open secret among the slaves, but I guess the reactions to that would vary. Seemingly religion is something Miro and Danbaris share in common, along with being house servants. Maybe they get along a bit better than most. For all his faults, Danbaris is ultimately loyal to his people, and his cowardice reins in his darker impulses. Him being evil simply means that he has very little in the way of conscience, so nothing is really holding him back from committing all kinds of terrible things, were he not absolutely, and obsessively afraid of the consequences. He'll play nice. :)

We should all be good at sneaking quietly past the "big people" to get a head start. It looks like Miro and Jago will be good at procuring (nicking) a few locked supplies!
We just have to be alert to any halfling slaves who might squeal if they find out what we're planning!

Danbaris is suspicious of everyone and everything, oblivious to the irony that he is perhaps the least trustworthy person around...
He has some rudimentary knowledge of alchemy as well. Maybe he can be convinced to aid, if its not too risky to be found in the kitchen at the time.
"Procuring," though. That's dangerous. Perhaps it's better that you handle that part. Unless the humans happen to leave it laying around, and there is someone else to blame for the deed... :)

GM JIB |

Hi all.
I guess ill start and re clarify. This thread was suppose to be about introducing yourself and your char. This wasn't meant to be a start of the game/ place to talk in character.
Introduction
My name is Justin B and Ill be Gming this adventure. I have been GMing for about 8 years. I ran a couple PBP games on here years ago, but besides that I am pretty green to PBP. I have also ran about a dozen or so one-shots and an Ongoing campaign on Roll20, as well as close to 50 PFS games and countless other games/campaigns in my hometown.
I started out with 4E (ducks) and after some frustration with that system I found Pathfinder. However, it was not the system that I initially feel in love with, it was Golarion. It is such a rich, large and ever expanding setting that truly inspires me. I haven't looked back since.
Game Information
I have set everyone up with Roll20 character. In the time being please play around with the client. Get use to the dice rolling mechanics, typing in the chat room, and moving your icon around the board. I am creating a guide that will explain in depth how we will be using Roll20, but having these basics will help alot.
Please take a look at forum in Roll20 game and read the Galt Wiki (if you are not already familer)
More details about the Farm, security , living conditions etc will be presented at the start of the game. Some backgrounds (or "roles" rather) might need a little tweaking, and that will be covered in the beginning of the game as well. I still need to flesh some things out, so will get this going ASAP.

We're just getting to know each other, boss. I assume our characters know something about each other, right? :)
I'm new to PbP as well, though I've read multiple in preparation for an Curse of the Crimson Throne game (including yours, Misty/Dragoncat, I like your style!), so I have a pretty good idea about what I am doing. I'm running said campaign in Roll20 too, so I'm familiar with the mechanics of that site as well.

Jago Ostwig |

Here's a short outline of what Jago should be like:
He is a sullen hothead after his parents were killed without a second thought by a drunken master. He is also smart enough to make use of stealth, which halflings excel at, rather than brute strength, which halflings are not good at.
He's fast, agile and tricky. He wants to excel at fighting unseen from a distance. Hence, his desire to become a slayer.
He is a wee bit gruff with anyone who isn't a halfling.
He likes to do his bit to help out … but he likes to do his bit HIS way!
I think the expression on the face of the avatar I'm using for Jago is a pretty good summary of his mindset once he's got a goal to achieve. Especially if it involves making life a misery for slave owners! Muahahaha!! :D
I've tinkered with the Roll20 thing a bit already. I am still new to it, but it looks some nice!
Oh, yes, I've been playing Pathfinder, live, for about two years now. After many years of not playing RPGs at all. That was from working night shift (yuck!). I am looking forward to taking part in this, since I've never played a halfling character before.

Miss Dillia |

Hi all, I am looking forward to this. My name is John. My forum tag is Dorgar. I have been gaming for quite some time. I don't have extensive pbp experience but there is some there. Miss Dillia or simply "Gran" is the midwife, wise woman, and general physician for the halfling house. When not busy with those duties she can often be found in the communal kitchen baking what simple goods she can muster up the ingredients for. Known for her tales of hero's and ledgends of old she often is called on to help teach youngsters the simple but important lessons of life as a slave. Her face is a bit gentler looking than her portrait implies, but was the best overall fit I found in the avatars.

Hello everyone...
I have a few years of experience with roleplaying and have been playing on these forums since last July. Even though I feel like I'm still inexperienced at PbP I guess I really am not. I have some experience with Roll20 as well.
Mydeo, if you haven't read already, is fairly new to the winery. He was originally hired as an entertainer. However, he was not really interacting with the world at that point and, after a few severe lashings (and possibly a suggestion from a personal assistant,) was moved to the fields. He since then has started to recover some of his good cheer and occasionally can be found singing a shanty or two in the "halfling house." He has no intention of moving back into a house servant position and having to play for anyone even associated with his parent's execution.
Still undecided on Skald or Bard but I can wait to see how other play and whether rage like effects help or a static boost would be better.
and the forums really don't have many good old lady avatars sadly...

Another adept? Curses! Here I thought Danbaris would be the only one to tend to the party's spiritual needs! Perhaps this is for the best... ;)

Assuming you are talking about this personal assistant, definitely possible. Danbaris had a brother who died the same way. As mean as he can be, he has no desire to see anyone share his brother's fate.

Hmm... Just making sure...
Is it safe to assume us adepts can start with an (un)holy symbol? Danbaris would just have a sharp, polished black rock with a hole through it hanging from his neck on a string (equivalent of a wooden unholy symbol, I think). Shouldn't be too suspicious, and it's essentially worthless.
What about a spell component pouch? It's basically just a belt pouch, containing miscellaneous trash like bits of wool, lumps of wax, dead fireflies, etc. I suppose it could be suspicious (and as a result something we might want to keep hidden), assuming there is someone amongst the slavers who knows how magic works.
More expensive material components could be a problem, though... Luckily, those won't be a problem for a while. I hope.

Jago's nicked a few items: padded armour, four daggers (cutlery!), a heavy pick, a scythe, two short spears, a sickle, a sling, and a sling staff. No proper lead sling bullets. Just have to make do with a stash of rocks lying about, I suppose. I guess they don't trust us! Funny, that!

Mydeo gas scrounged a few sickles here and there, a dagger or two, and some thick clothing.
Just head to roll20 and login, it should be on your home page.
