Welcome to The Beggar's Pearl, a PFS oldie from Season 1!
Scheduled to begin on March 5th! for the Outpost PbP convention
(Some good background stuff, if you're a dwarf, in this one... if you care about such things!)

Hello! Don't worry - Fimbir never quite got why frog legs are considered a delicacy, so he'll try not to singe you!
Also need to update my profile early next week. Have leveled since last PbP

Hey Tad, It's me Monty! Excited to still play with you!
Mutahir Hashem, the Cleric Killer, at your service.
Mutahir is a agent of the Pure Legion of Rahadoum, on loan to the Pathfinder society to help exterminate cultists. He is shockingly resilient to divine magic and must make saves even against buffs and healing, and opposing divine magic must also beat his spell resistance!

![]() |

Yeeeeah. Was not my intention. Just saw the scenario description and went for it, since mutahir's schtick is "Hunt down cultists" and he's not particularly useful outside of that.
I have some other recently freed up lower level options if you'd prefer I go low instead. I can shoo poor mutahir out and pull one of my other characters.

Ah well... as I said, if it's not super important than I'll just keep Mutahir... I've been more selective about his endevors since he's the heaviest role play character I have with almost all of his abilities just suited to that one thing, and I'd hate to lose him cause he went on an adventure where that WASN'T a thing.
But if we really want, I have a level 2 psychic I can bring in.

Dynath checking in after a long Pathfinder sabbatical. Thanks for tracking me down.

Hey guys, the tier is a bit of a mess here. We have one character at each possible level! I can sub in a higher level character if we want to 'unmessify' things. I have either a sorcerer 7 (water bloodline, built mostly to do damage with evocation spells) or an arcanist 5 who I could bring instead of Tad, since I'm one of the extreme examples. The sorcerer is another of my favorite characters, and the arcanist is one I'm building right now off of pregen and GM credits, so I would be happy to play either.

It's not that easy. Because this is season one, and we've been restricted to 5 players, if the APL falls between tiers we *have* to play down.
So in order to get into the higher tier, total levels have to add up to 28. You'd have to play a level 6 for it to be enough to push it up (so the arcanist wouldn't be enough)
If we could add a 6th player... We'd no longer be forced to go down between tiers. So would only need to get to a total level of 27.
Ah, the vagaries of APL calculations =)
Right now, in the lower tier, 3 or 4 of you could probably solo it =)

Meh, I'm okay with taking the lower gold... I've made all my primary purchases with Mutahir, so I don't mind just making sure the lower characters get through unscathed.

Hey GM, I've dotted and deleted in the Gamethread...but will wait till post tomorrow. I'll be 5th level and need to get him leveled up and make purchases...

Realized I forgot my typical GM disclaimer! (Tad, Mutahir, and Benny already have an idea on my GMing style, as I've GM'd for them in the past, but for the rest of you)
I tend to paraphrase quite extensively sometimes... so if posts seem a little wordy sometimes... that's normal! I get a little caught up in describing the scene at times.
I check for posts quite frequently, and try to keep things moving along as briskly as I can. The game will move as quickly as you guys do! If you've not posted in a 24 hour period however, I will move things along regardless... often having you delay, or do something relatively innocuous, if not previously instructed otherwise.
I roll initiative for you, and use group initiative for the PC's... and by that I mean that all PC's that go before the next bad guy, can take their turn, and I will resolve them in the order of posting (everyone else more-or-less delaying as you jockey for position) If you want to make sure you go before or after someone/thing else, just mention it in your post.
(note: I will not always describe things in this order... but that's just narrative color.)
I will often roll saves or AoO's for you, if I need to know the results of them to resolve the bad guys' turns. Otherwise, it's on you... though I do ask that you roll these things, when asked, first thing in your next post... don't worry about getting every modifier right, we can adjust it after the fact, if needed.
I will keep most of my rolling inside a spoiler text..
Feel free to look at it if you want... mostly just keep them in there to avoid cluttering up the post.
Otherwise, enjoy the RP of it all!

GM, I'm struggling with a rules oddity for Tad. I would like to buy some mint for him to chew so that he's minty fresh rather than stinky when he licks people. Ultimate Equipment lists a pound of mint among 'trade goods' for 5sp (pg 93). Additional resources says that that whole chapter with a few exceptions is legal. Is 1 lb the smallest increments I can buy?
Also, are you OK with me retconning buying that just before we set off? I think I mentioned it, but was unable to find the rules about it before we set off. It's entirely a flavor item (excuse the unintentional pun), not something I intend any mechanical benefit from.

I am at a conference today so I wont be able to move things from where I am st. I will post what I want to do, if necessary, so if someone else could move me, if necessary, it would be greatly appreciated.

I will likely be without internet access for the better part of the weekend. If the notes show back up I’ll shoot with my composite longbow with cold iron arrows (+9/+4, 1d8+2). I do not have point blank or precise shot. If something else shows up and I don’t know about DR I’ll charge in with the urgosh. Wolf will defend himself but only engage if I go into melee.

Enjoyed playing leapfrog with you for a bit GM!
Combat posted while I was typing pre-combat post. Then while I was editing my post to include combat actions you went and moved yours, so then I split mine into two :P
