Whistle Pig clears the door for traps, but he can hear the sound of.... weeping coming from the other side.

Raen pushes open the doors from an advantageous height.
This room contains a rectangular, giant-sized table with chairs beneath a stained-glass window and two wooden cabinets. Opposing archways lead to spiral staircases on either side. A young wood giant crouches in the space near the window, looking apprehensively over the table. "Please don't hurt me, I'm not like them. I am a slave here." The voice is deep, but trembling.
Ushyle eyes the figure closely, looking for any hint of deception or falsehood.
Raen nods her acceptance slowly, and sets herself down gently atop the table. "Do you speak any tongue but Jotun or Taldane?" she asks in a soft voice.
The hair stands up on the back of your neck. There's something off here. She's lying, and you feel like the intent is nefarious
In Taldane, "I speak the language of the woodlands too."
Ushyle hardens his face into a scowl. You are no prisoner here, he says simply, his voice colored with anger.
"It's not true! I AM! They compel me with magic to obey! The giant who casts the spell stopped coming yesterday and now I'm technically not a prisoner, but where would I go? How could I leave? They'll kill me!"
Vael watches Ushyle, trusting the man's instincts. "Then tell your tale, complete and without falsehoods. Because we will know."
"There isn't much of a tale to tell really. You see... I..... BLASTED BOLLIX!" The "wood giant" reaches for a massive kitchen knife!

A frown creases Raen's brow when the wood giant replies in Taldane, rather than Sylvan, and darkens further when Ushyle speaks. She was just about to cast a discerning spell when the kitchen knife became involved...
Raen leaps into the air, securing the safety of distance. From there she flings a powerful disjunctive spell at the creature, to dispel any compulsion charm or illusion spell that might remain beneath the guise.
Raen's attempt at dispelling magic produces no change in the situation.

The scowl never leave Ushyle's face as he spurs Rosewind forward, over the table and chairs while he takes the measure of the lying giant. I do not like liars, he growls, and I like less liars who threaten my friends.

Vael draws upon his magical energy before he invokes the spirits, empowering to transpose Doxon in a swirl of stardust!

Tulia fires a crossbow bolt at the giant.
Lykophos flies in to provide a physical distraction, hoping to help Ushyle.
Tulia's shot misses. Thankfully Lykophos doesn't draw the giant's attention. Vael gets Doxon into the thick of it.
The giant takes a small step back and tries to cast a spell defensively
The spell is a ruse! You look to the west by the stairs and realize that the western wall is an illusion. Emerging through it, though still invisible to all eyes but your own, is a three headed dragon! All three heads unleash a torrent of flame over the majority of the party!
Suddenly a wave of fire washes over the room from west to east covering Hamilton, Sammi, Whistle Pig, and Ushyle:

Vael attempts to identify the magic he's seeing...
Vael.... knows that whatever that giant did, it was no spell. The words and somatic gestures were meaningless!
Vael is blasted by the fire, though Tulia manages to avoid the worst of it by moving behind the shaman.
Ushyle catches the curious angle of the incoming flame out of the corner of his eye...but not quite fast enough to evade it.
It burns.
Raen's shout rings clear over the heat of battle. "Dragon! To the west! Lykophos, a dusting of glitter at the western wall by the stairs, quickly! The giant is a ruse!"
Hearing Raen's cry, Doxon calls on Torag for a little Grace and stomps his way towards the western stairs.

WP scowls as he sees a giant play on his friend's better nature with lies and deceit!
"Lying filthy GIANT!" Pig spits as the words come out of his mouth live venom.
He loads his sling and attacks the giant with clinical precision.
He then tries to tumble out of the way of the fire blast...
WP's rage helps him leap free of the fire.
Whistle Pig's stones are not their normal, lethal, selves! He misses on all accounts.
The giant is an illusion! you definitely saw a stone fly straight through it and then the giant simply moved like it was a miss!
Meanwhile Doxon goes for the western threat!

Raen groans audibly as Whistle Pig's stones and Hamilton's swipes swing for the giant, and the dragon gets an easy shot at the roughrider. "The giant is almost certainly an illusion!" Raen shouts, adopting simpler language than before. "And there is a DRAGON, to your LEFT!"
To Lykophos, in a kinder tone, she calls again, "Aim your spell at the aperture of the hall to the stairwell, please." She points to the invisible dragon's location.
With a snap of her fingers, Raen becomes invisible herself, but leaves behind a copy of herself for all to see with unaided eyes.
She then dives down into the center of the company, and weaves a spell to speed their steeds and swordarms, leaving her copy to mimic the same up above.
BOT
Ushyle, already near to his purpose but unable to discern the dragon's precise ground, pauses with a glance at Lykophos.
Lykophos flies around the illusory giant and casts the requested spell at the requested location.
Raen hastens the party and then gives some direction. Lykophos abides and drops a spell on the dragon. . The party sees the outline of a three-headed dragon! Suddenly all eyes focus on the real foe.

The all-too-familiar wounds open on the shaman's body, and he grunts from the pain. He calls on the Spirit of Life to grant the company succor and bind up their wounds, including his own.
Tulia, meanwhile, lets fly with her crossbow, aiming now at the real foe.
Vael's succor is much needed as the dragon seems plenty hale. Tulia score a light hit, but every bit counts. It's hard to see, but Raen thinks without acid, the dragon's wounds will continually heal.
With the ruse foiled, the giant simply stands frozen as the dragon fights back.
The right hand head breaths another cone of fire! It catches Ushyle, Real Whistle Pig, and Vael . the other two heads go for Ushyle:
