Hail!

We're ramping up for this Scenario. Before play, make sure your ducks are in a row. For those who are coming from the In Service to Lore trilogy, make sure you've picked your faction AND your faction trait. Once you're gold is spent and your spells are prepared, post here in this thread to indicate that you're ready.

Good gaming!

Male Human Wizard 5 (hp: 40/40 AC: 13, FF: 12, T:12) Perception +5

I am working on equipment. How much may I spend? The average amount? What is the adventure?

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

So PFS games are short missions that cover the entire spectrum of possible adventure styles (I just finished one where it was a 1e style death trap tomb, and I'm in one now where I'm at a wedding trying to build business contacts for the Society.)

Starting gold is 150 for all characters. You currently don't know the adventure paramaters, but 7 out of 10 times you can make purchases AFTER the mission briefing at Pathfinder headquarters.

I have created my character and registered him with Pathfinder Society. Here is Azdak. Originally I created him on my messageboard aliases, but I was unable to register him that way.

Consequently, I needed to cut and paste him in the section of my account called "Register Pathfinder Character Here". As a result I ended up with two Azdaks. Therefore, I changed my original Azdak to Zorestar so I no longer have two of the same character. Zorestar only has two posts and will likely change his name again once I create another character.

Anyways, Please look over Azdak and give me any suggestions. He is going to be in the Grand Lodge Faction.

Let me know when you are all ready to begin our first mission! I eagerly await!

Hey DM and everyone,

I am helping my mom move out of her house this weekend and may not be able to post. However, I will do my best. Have a great weekend.

Azdak, Fel's really only useful in combat to buff the team. He does his bardic chant giving each ally a +1 attack/damage. For that reason, we had a system worked out last adventure that whoever rolls initiative higher that Fel will delay until after him, provided they don't let a baddie go first. That way all get the +1s. Does that work for you?

That seems easy enough. No problem. I always like being inspired.

Hey DM,

Do you want us to post in order or is anytime during the round fine? I presume that whatever order we post in, you will resolve it in initiative order.

When possible post in initiative order. Makes it less confusing for everyone else. Yet if you are going to be "offline" for the next 15 hours and you are only going ahead of maybe one guy then feel free to post.

FYI - I looked it up to draw the cloud on the map.
Obscuring mist: A misty vapor arises around you. It is stationary. The vapor obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature 5 feet away has concealment (attacks have a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment (50% miss chance, and the attacker cannot use sight to locate the target).

A moderate wind (11+ mph), such as from a gust of wind spell, disperses the fog in 4 rounds. A strong wind (21+ mph) disperses the fog in 1 round. A fireball, flame strike, or similar spell burns away the fog in the explosive or fiery spell's area. A wall of fire burns away the fog in the area into which it deals damage.

DM, typical pathfinder missions have the side mission related to the individuals' faction. Is that not the case for this adventure?

Yes. It was in a spoiler early on. There are two factions represented. Check page 1.

Side missions? Ain't nobody got time for dat!

I think the extra mission was omitted... At 11:13 on Feb 6 you refer to the extra mission given above, but there isn't anything above that except the main mission.

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

I'm not sure what happened. Faction missions are vital in Pathfinder Society they determine which factions had the most influence on the adventures for the coming year. Completing a faction missions also gets you 1 prestige point. It is the sum of these points that determines your fame score. in Pathfinder Society games your fam score determines what treasure you are allowed to get.

I will re post as soon as I get home which is 2245 EST

If anybody wants a faction emblem, all you need to do is go to your Account. Under Messageboard Aliases select Edit next to your character. It will then take you to a page where you may click on what emblem you wish your character to display. I hope that helps.

Hello Folks,

I am just giving a heads up that I will be away on vacation with the family next week. We will be gone basically Sunday through Saturday. I will have my little Ipod so I may be able to post some small things in the evenings provided that the hotel has a good internet service. However, if I am absent, that is the explanation. Please feel free to DMPC Azdak if you need to. Have a great week.

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

Have fun on vacation! Which reminds me, seeing as I'm off, I have some posting to do....

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

Hey guys, now that I'm on vacation I can get my ducks in a row. I need to keep better track of my campaigns (DMing 2 table top games and 2 PbP games as well as playing in 1 PbP and 2 tabletop games.) So after some advice from Adam, Mike, etc. Let's get back to basics.

1. Post discussion in the discussion tab.
2. Post in Bold for speaking in first person.
3. Post OOC for relevant out of character stuff.
4. Post in normal text for exposition. Avoid second person (as much as I love CYOA novels.)
5. Post privileged info in a spoiler.
6. Post the round your action takes place in under a title of ROUND #. If you're posting out of turn try ROUND # (OoO)
7. Try to avoid posting out of turn, but I do appreciate the preemptive "I'm going to be gone so here's my post."
8. In PFS ONLY. Please use a "wealth change" spoiler. At the end of the scenario use a "Net Wealth Change" spoiler that includes post session purchases of both Gold and Prestige.

I'm also going to try to get into the habit of making a stock post for new rounds. E.G.

ROUND 2

Here's the summary of Round 1.......

We've pretty much reached the end of this scenario. I'm going to scan and email the Chronicle for this scenario. I'll be in Montreal this weekend, but when I return I'll be lookign to start up the next module.

I'll be running "The Cyphermage Dilemma." We currently have a party of:

Harnac
Azdak
Sumac
Fel

S, you want to ask Jacob if he wants in on the next one? I'm also inviting Andrew Trexler to the next one as he needs to catch up too. He has a level 3 ranger and a level 2 rogue. IF both Jacob and Trexler play, the APL is 3. That means you as a group would need to decide if you want to play it at difficulty 1-2 or 4-5. "Playing up" is dangerous. The baddies are stronger and more numerous. The rewards, however, are commensurate with the risk.

I could go along with playing up. Thoigh Im getting quite attached to Sumac and Grip. They are decent fellows. Id hate for them to die.

Lemme put it this way. At GenCon, when you've got folks you're not sure whether they're skilled players, you think about whether you should play up.

When you've got players you trust, ALWAYS play up. :-)

I've seen y'all in play so far. I'm very strongly in the PLAY UP camp.

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

I tend to agree with Mike.

THAT BEING SAID -Twice my main character, Castamir, has watched as 5 of his teammates die (and both times Mike was one of them). Twice I have opted to cast Gaseous Form and flee the module. Fortunately for me in both cases I managed to either steal or deliver the crucial component to keep the mission a success.

If you die in PFS you must either pay the Prestige for a Raise Dead, or drop the gold. If you cannot do it by scenarios end, then the character is reported as "Permanently Dead."

I've played about 50 odd scenarios now. I've seen 1 TPK, 2 sole survivors (mine) and the rest were successes. Not to mention the rewards are REALLY nice....

S and Phil, did you get the first three chronicles in the mail yet?

S and Phil: I have a one-in-the-world chronicle for one of my characters that is notarized. Talk about geeky.

Bill: It's pretty self explanatory once you see the sheet. If you look at the PFS rules, you'll see there's an example of one filled out.

Also, I updated the Character Tracker for this module already, no need to make any changes.
