Oh, core only? I'm not all that interested now.
Sorry, but core is too binding, in my opinion.
I'm trying to create the same set of rules my tabletop players will have. I dont have many books so I must keep it simple.
You dont have to play. I can get someone else

Well, core only excludes oracle, majus, any feat tree other then TWF and archery for ranger....
It's prittymuch saying, if you ask me, "i don't trust my players to come in with honest, unbroken material, so I'm going to bind them to nothin but the most basic rules."
"Core only" seems to be a lack of trust in my eyes.
But that's just me.
Might as well play... I think I'll just look up an iconic and play that.

its not just because game is breakable. but this is the only physical book I own besides the GM books. I'm still wanting original characters.
all of my 10,000+ books on my flashdrive are gone...

There is d20pfsrd, has pritty much everything from the advanced rule book. And how do you get an original character out of core? It's all been done before.

There are four of us yes?
Do we want to go the old Frontline/Skillmonkey/Arcane/Divine, or are we gonna mix things up? What are everyone else's thoughts on what they want to play? I have a few ideas.
Fireclaw Drake: here
Magic: here
Lord Foul: ???
Icehawk: Here

I'm not sure I'm going to play.
I'm thinking about wether it's worth it or not.

I am well aware. I done even bother really "munchkin-izing" my charecters.
Seriously, I'm currently playing a lv 3 bard kobold who's only real offense is acid flasks and tar bombs.
the campaign will go from lvl 1 to 17-18 eventually. so making a strong character will come in time.
but just because you were one of my first choices doesnt mean you Have to play; i would just like to run this with some experienced players before I run my n00bs.

This is the first time i will have /ever/ played a module, or anything core.

Just like to point out: not everyone allows phones or other electronic devices at their table (like me for example).
Ah. Yes, that makes sense. It doesn't at any table I'm at, because i can't afford a real book. So instead, i just memorize... Pretty much everything.

Death_Keeper |

same here, if I can't even play a witch or a summoner just no point.
LF, As i said I am trying to run this out of core book first so I can run my noobs through (tabletop) using the same circumstances. I may be able to buy new books but until then sorry. I dont have a laptop so looking them up at the table is out of the question.

*shrug* I prefer books for my tabletop.
if you have to play non core classes to feel the game is worth playing, i can find someone else

Anyway, I'll probably play, but it may take a while for me to make a Charecter, because... Yeah. First time I'm ever doing anything core, and i am obsessive about getting a personality right, and building them properly.
Normally, i see something and think "oh, that would be cool to play" and then i build a character that suits that class. /nothing/ core makes me feel that way, and as such, I've got to come up with something i like put of what, to me, looks somewhat dull.
But I'm going to do it. Because I'm stubborn as heck.

There is "core" and there's "base."
Core is wizard, cleric, rogue, etc.
Base is witch, alchemist, summoner, etc. Also made by paizo and in normal rules. Just expanded some by them with more options.
When you say "core" you mean anything from Paizo and not 3pp, right?
No.
Core is only the core classes. Not anything pazio.

no he means core
fighterwizard
cleric
bard
rouge
sorcerer
barbarian
ranger
druid
monk
paladin
Dwarves
Elves
Gnomes
Half-elves
Halflings
Half-orcs
Humans
no archtypes
no alternate classes
I think only 5 prestige classes
very few feats (I don't even know which ones are core, as I only have one book actual book and it's not core)

icehawk333 |

Would anyone like to switch topic to what you are going to play?
(this is not a first come first serve basis, but general role would be nice)
I reserve what I'm planning, so that other players make their choice first, that way they don't feel any pressure to be a character that doesn't fill the same niche.
Likewise, I'm ignoring what others are playing, and still making my character the class i want to.

icehawk333 |

If you insist, I'm planning on being a cleric.
But honestly, i down see the problem with withholding. A party shouldn't be made with just effectiveness in mind, that may force a player to play something he doesn't want to, out of a feeling of obligation.

It should be made with cooperation in mind, and knowing there is a cleric means someone else doesn't feel obligation to be a healer and choose to be one on that reason alone.

hrrmm I was going to play an oracle
...
do you rule that all necromancers have to be evil
as in are magically compelled to be evil
sorry for the mini rant,
if you don't rule that, I might play my first cleric, otherwise, maybe a druid, a sorcerer or a paladin
what bloodlines are core?
likewise what domains are core?
