Fleet or Combat Casting are both pretty good. Maybe save fleet for later though to better show Mhar's adaptation to his curse?

Edit: Vem is fully updated now with Spirit's generous gift of Improved Unarmed Strike I can follow a very neat build path. I went ahead and purchased the masterwork armor I need Mhar, came out to 576 gold. With the remainder Vem purchased an Ioun Stone Torch, a Wand of Savage Maw with 5 charges, and a Wand of Magic Fang with 10; pocketing the remaining 14 for a rainy day.

Hi, Thorrpe.
Since you have UMD, I'm guessing that you're getting your own wand of Cure Light Wounds.
(It helps if multiple people have them since we're likely to be somewhat spread out in combat.)
You could get a wand with 7 charges of Cure Light Wounds for 105gp.

Hey, guys, instead of a cure light wounds, since Spirit let us have spirit healing (basically infernal healing without the [evil]), I'd suggest that we should get one of those. It's worth noting, however, that I kind of blew my gold to make said spell, unless I misunderstood something, or someone is really interested in throwing some in there. EDIT: to be clear, again, unless I'm misunderstanding something, I think I researched it for all of our spell lists.

Okay! Sorry, I wasn't following all that with the Spirit Healing before.

So, Mhar spent his 1k to research that spell, so Thorrpe is now giving his 105gp to get a wand of 7 charges of Spirit Healing that Mhar will hold.

Jez will also sacrifice 75gp to add 5 more charges, so Mhar's Spirit Healing wand will have 12 charges.

Spirit Healing is cool because, unlike CLW it cures a total of 10hp per use instead of 1d8+1hp per use.

Its use is limited, though, because it only heals one hp per round, so it's great to use between battles, but not so much during combat.

But, if anyone wants to contribute 75gp to add five more charges of Spirit Healing to Mhar's wand for the good of the party, let us know. :)

Spirit I really like this game and idea...I just don't think Thorrpe fits. Vem is a lovely character but I just foresee us doing nothing but arguing the whole game at that is just not fun for me. Everytime I speak or she speaks we have to fight to be true to the characters.

I will give it a day or two, but I just think Thorrpe is a poor part of this team

I think I'm a little confused if only because Thorrpe initiated a conversation with Vem. So I responded to him. If you feel our characters don't mesh well that's ok and everything, but it seemed like you were actively pursuing interaction with Vem?

Edit: I guess I'm going through something of a culture shock after having played for years in groups who so often have diametrically opposed characters; to finding someone who wants nothing to do at all with internal conflict.

uh no you initiated it and immediately insulted his eidolan, and are generally antagonistic. Vem has been antagonistic towards thorrpe from the first interaction. And I even asked you OOC not to do that.

But hey its fine, you are playing what you want to play, and it just happens to be that Thorrpe clashes. Arguing with other PC's is not fun to me. Vem is a bit of a jerk and that just isn't fun for me.

to respond to the pursuing conversation that is exactly my point. If you talk to Thorrpe I have two choices ignore you or dive into an argument. One is lame the other is no fun.

I do wonder why you have such an aversion to interactions between different characters. I would say Vem is supplanted currently pretty much in the neutral good range for a while. Are the majority of all your games all lawful good players? Doesn't always agreeing with one another get tiring?

No they are not nor is thorrpe. But it is a game where we are supposed to work together and Vem is antagonistic. That is not the game I want to play.

In any event this interaction solidifies my decision. The only end result between thorrpe and Vem is pvp and I do not condone pvp.

Spirit please make my character inactive.

I'm sorry for my lack of direct response.

It's been difficult getting into Mhar's head due to a combination of things. With the complete drop of so many folks that're so deeply tied to his personal character growth over the past year, the retcon (a fine decision, but it changes his feelings on the situation substantially), and the nature of how he's being focused on (... didn't see that coming), it's a little hard to grasp how he'd respond... and even what to respond to.

The few things I've come up with either no longer function in-game (due to altered social dynamics and characters present) or really aren't appropriate, hence I'm having difficulty zoning into the current game dynamic and character interactions. I apologize, as I understand it's not fair to my fellow players. I will try to post something soon.

Sorry if I kind of put you on the spot there Mhar. The thing is that based on the abilities that you presented during the training, the fact that you speak so well to the group and also manage to come up with good plans logically made Braeth consider you more for the diplomatic mission than any of the others who seem to display either a greater lack of communication skills compared to you or even sociopathic tendencies depending on who we're talking about

So just take your time and react as you think Mhar would, and don't worry it's always possible to reshuffle any of the positions thats whats fun about suggestions in game :)

Oh, you're fine! It's very nice of you, that's for sure! It's seriously just a combination of factors, not any one thing. I suspect had it been any two of those I might be fine. By the time all three hit... heh. Mhar's comments, by the way, effectively mirrors my own, when Jez mentioned that to me: "Wait, what?" :)

I would have been okay with how things sussed out, regardless, vote-wise. I do appreciate the statement of confidence! It was just surprising to me:

Mhar: "yeah, she has a good idea"
Several: "Mhar for leader!"

Which I found fairly funny, if humbling, and surprising. But right now, not being Mhar, I'm going through Continuity Swirl, trying to retcon my mind around everything. Add that to GMing, a couple of real life things, and other game stuff, and I'm just kind of having what amounts to a case of writer's block. You've done nothing that would normally make things difficult. We're cool. :)

Well, one is a ranger, not ninja. But similar enough - sneaky skill type - that I grouped them, especially with his (not abnormal) build (focus on stealth, sleight of hand, perception and movement). The big difference is that the ranger gets full BAB and favored enemy instead of sneak attack and ki. Regardless, the point is: our tanks aren't, really. (Though a ranger is better at tanking than in 3.5!) Also, at this time, I can say: masterwork armor is definitely available, Vem...

I was thinking...
What if I take levels in Ranger?
Precisely, a Sable Company Marine/Urban Ranger/Skirmisher.
The first third of the build has another name in the site (Sky Stalker).
The reasons of my thinking; I get trapfinding without being a rogue (this is actually an inability due to "ninjasness"), I get favored community (I know this isn't strong but Jian wants to have a place of his liking), I get Hunter Tricks (just because Jian has enough Wisdom for cantrips only (and rangers don't have cantrips)), and I get an Hippogriff as companion, with a druid effective level of ranger - 1 (effectively + 2 levels if compared to standard rangers). Boon Companion will me another 4 level of companion, up to character level.
Consideration of levels taken (beyond BAB and saves):
Lv 1) A bit of class skill mostly redundant, track, wild empathy, first favored enemy.
Lv 2) Hippogriff. Well, I'll let it speaks for itself:

Stats:
Hippogriff

Starting Statistics

Size Large; Speed 40 ft., fly 60 ft. (average; unable to carry a rider while flying); AC +2 natural armor; Attack bite (1d6); Ability Scores Str 15, Dex 15, Con 14, Int 2, Wis 12, Cha 9; Special Qualities darkvision 60 ft., low-light vision, scent.

4th-Level Advancement

Speed 40 ft., fly 100 ft. (average; unable to carry a rider while flying); Attack bite (1d6), 2 claws (1d4); Ability Scores Str +2, Con +2.

Mastery (7th Level)

The hippogriff can carry a rider while flying, but reduces its fly speed by half while doing so.


Lv 3) Favored community and Trapfinding.
Lv 4) Dead level. There is nothing here. Truly nothing.
Lv 5) An Hunter’s Trick 3/day, second favored enemy.
Lv 6) A f#@**%$ flying ninja! (boon companion will be taken)
Lv ...) I'm going to find a way to get a bit of sneak attack while still gaining levels in the companion. It cares a little if I have to leave ranger.
Thoughts? Advises? Any help would help.

EDIT: d20pfsrd says that Urban Ranger and Sky Stalker don't stack due to favored terrain replacement. Actually, Sky Stalker touches only the companion (and only if it's a Hippogriff), not modifying but just adding things to the bonus feats, as the archetype says that the bonus feats are added to the list of the available regardless of the chosen combat style.

EDIT 2: I'm going to stick with ninja for another level minimum.


As long as it doesn't break the rules, it should be fine.
