Hey Guys, I heard back from Doug today. He says that things are starting to slow down a bit, and that he hopes to be back online in the early fall, so, probably another month before he gets back, but he does intend to return to us, so at least there's that.

Kaylee Pruitt |

Still waiting to play but I will be going without internet until the 18th. Hopefully this campaign will be rolling by then. Kerret, if you don't mind taking over for Kaylee if Doug starts back up before then, I'd appreciate it.

"Never heard of you, bonestack. Let's heat things up a bit."
Might I direct you to this.

Kerret is horrible at history. Yeah, that's it.

Also, if somebody would like to bot Pip in the meantime feel free to do so. If he has been gone for as long as you say we may need to consider more drastic options to deal with his absence.
If somebody does choose to play for him be sure to roll his initiative and I'll toss him in the mix with the rest of you lot.

I think this was a case of a lot of things going right for us. Vastar took down all those skeletons right out of the gate, and Kerret was able to bring to bear his fire attacks. If we had to deal with Asar as well all the skeletons, it would have been much tougher.

Kerret Malconnen |

Yeah, I mean, I critted with that scorching ray scroll. Not much to be done about that, and then just some bad luck with the GM's rolls. Right now, anything that's immune to fire would eat Kerret for breakfast. I'm mostly just glad we're back.

Sorry about missing last nights update guys. I'm posting from my phone right now just to keep up with things.
Just incase anybody needs a refresher, the objective here is to light the lantern (the one the mayor entrusted to you) from the Everflame and return it to Kassen before the ceremony. The lantern should be in Kerrets possession.

We need to make a decision regarding what we want to do with Pip. Do you guys want to continue on as a 4 member party or would you like me to start looking for a replacement?
Our next adventure does not take place in Kassen so unless he shows up soon there will be little place to have him return throughout the next module.

I'll look into adding another player since that is what the majority seems to be leaning toward.
Just to keep things balanced, what would you guys think of your Wealth/level ratio is. If I bring another player in I don't want them to be ahead of the party. To this point I've been keeping to the listed treasure in the book but have been giving out levels before I am supposed to. It just seems to work out better that way.

I joined a campaign at level eight.
The GM asked me what kind of thing I wanted (no priorities, just would I prefer a weapon, skill stuff, defence...) and then the GM chose my equipment. He did that specifically to keep me at the same power level as the rest of the gang.

With the cart:
50ft silk rope
3 tindertwigs
Potion of CLW- given to Lorant and then passed to Kerret
3 torches- I think one or two was used at the first campsite

MW shortsword- given to Pip
44 gp
At the entrance:
2 days rations
2 large pillows
10 blunt arrows
2 pints of oil
Among the victims:
1 pillow
20 blunt arrows
2 days rations

2 smokesticks
In the pit:
5 pp
In the safe room:
MW crossbow- Kerret
2 healing potions - I'm assuming cure light, not sure though
Shadow room:
+1 dagger- Pip
And a little after that another dead body:
Potion of Cure Moderate Wounds- I believe Lorant took this one and gave Kerret the CLW mentioned earlier
13gp
And a note mentioning "the Ranger's Lament" a popular bar in Tamran
After the statue battle:
Kerret received,
MW light crossbow- given to Kaylee
Wand of Magic Missle (CL 3, 9 charges left)
Scroll of Scorching Ray- used in the final battle
Lorant received,
MW longsword
MW shield

Potion of Cure Light Wounds
Bottle of his favorite whiskey

Spellbook- Kaylee has taken
Horn of Fog
Wand of Magic Missle- no charges or CL given
Bag of Holding (Type 1)- I believe Kerret is holding
+1 Shield of Bashing- Lorant
Elemental Gem of Water
Let me know if you think I've missed something.

Awesome Kaylee. Thanks for doing that. Let's add up the value of what we've received, minus Pip's personal rewards I suppose, and divide it by the 4 of us. Once we do that we can figure our WBL and have a good idea of where any new characters should start out.

DougFungus |

I posted a recruitment thread to replace Pip HERE
Once you have all come to an agreement on a suitable replacement I plan on adding them to the game immediatly.
Rest assured that if Pip ever comes around again we will find a place for him.

Kerret Malconnen |

Sorry man, just a slow weekend. Hoping to do a price breakdown on all loot later today. Can I get a CL and amount of charges on that second wand of Magic Missile, and verification that Vastar's longbow is magical, or is the +1 a STR rating?

Kerret Malconnen |

Alright, I ran the numbers (with some assumptions along the way) and our total take from the adventure is 21,790 gp, 5 sp, 8 cp. Divided by 4, this comes to 5,447 gp, 6 sp, 4.5 cp each. Since PC WBL for level 4 is 6000 gp, I'd say this is close enough.
However, this assumes some stuff that I'd like Doug to yay or nay on. First, this requires that we hold onto the +1 dagger, and masterwork shortswords. Without those, we're down 2610 gp, or 652 gp, 5 sp each, which puts us all at under 5,000 gp, which is not so nice.
Anyway, the spoiler has the breakdown by item. Let me know if you guys see any errors.
masterwork backpack = 50gp x4 = 200gp
24 days trail rations = 12gp
4 small tents = 10gp each, 40 gp total
4 winter blankets = 5 sp each, 2 gp total
50' silk rope = 10gp
4 waterskins = 1 gp each, 4 gp total
3 tindertwigs = 3 sp
grappling hook = 1 gp
potion of CLW = 50 gp (assume CL 1) x 3 = 150 gp total
3 torches = 3 cp
44 gp
masterwork shortsword = 310 gp
30 blunt arrows = 3 gp
2 pints lamp oil = 2 sp
2 smokesticks = 2 gp
5 pp = 50 gp
masterwork light crossbow = 335 gp x2 = 670 gp
+1 dagger = 2302 gp
potion of CMW = 300 gp (assume CL 3)
13 gp
Wand of Magic Missile (CL 3) (10 charges) 1 x 3 x 750 = 2250 / 50 charges = 45 gp / charge x 10 charges = 450 gp
Scroll of Scorching Ray (assume CL 3) = 150 gp
Masterwork light steel shield = 159 gp
Masterwork longsword = 315 gp
Masterwork composite longbow (+1 Str) = 500gp
Wand of CLW (assume CL1, 4 charges) 1 x 1 x 750 = 750 / 50 = 15gp/charge x 4 = 60 gp
Scroll of Lesser Restoration (assume CL 3) = 150 gp
+1 longsword = 2315 gp
+1 chainmail = 1300 gp
354 gp
Wand of Magic Missile (assume CL 1, 50 charges) = 750 gp
+1 Shield of Bashing = 4159 gp
Horn of Fog = 2000 gp
Bag of Holding ( Type I ) = 2500 gp
Elemental Gem of Water = 2250 gp
Spellbook = 265 gp
15 gp for the book itself
22 lvl 0 spells (CRB, APG, UM) x 5gp = 110 gp
6 lvl 1 spells x 10 gp = 60 gp
2 lvl 2 spells x 40 gp = 80 gp
Anyway, that's what I got. Bear in mind that we're probably only going to get 1/2 price for anything we sell, which will drop our WBL significantly. So, if everyone claim what they want to keep (or have used already in my case), we can figure out what's left to sell and what our remaining wealth is.
I'd also like to say that it looks like Lorant will go over WBL just by keeping Kassen's shield and the +1 longsword, but I'd honestly rather have him set up that way as our front liner than not, so it doesn't bother me at all.
