Reinald Malcoms |

Still round 1
As I said before the creatures are out of reach(you can see this and wouldn't need to test to see if you can reach). Attacking without a reach weapon when they are in the tree and you are on the ground is a wasted attack. If you didn't see that in my last post then you may repost your round 1 actions.
Waiting for Genade and Sejanus(round 2) before I update again.
Round 1
Going to take you up on the redo. Re-reading your post it looks like I wouldn't be able to help Sejanus.
Reinald backs away out of the reach of the vines. As he moves back he fends off the snapping vines.
Full withdraw to avoid AOO
Round 2
Reinald drops to his knee crossbow raised aiming for the creature tormenting Sejanus.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Reinald curses and his face burns red as a watches stunned as the crossbow bolt missfires spinning end over end off toward nothing.

Dr. Genade |

Genade hears the creatures hit the ground and peeks around the tree. "Ah, that makes things easier." He lets go of the tree and moves in to flank the last one with the cleric.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 2 = 22
Damage: 1d4 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 1 + (5, 3) = 11

Diamondust |

For Sejanus' cries to attack them from out of the range of their vines, Reinald and Morgan aren't having much luck. As Genade comes in behind it he has to dodge his way through more flaying vines than before but he makes it and he and Jord hack away a few of its vines. No it is not the last one though. Only 1 has been killed so far.
The vine creature near Jord wraps one vine around his Morningstar and rips it from his hand sending it flying against the stockade wall in the north east corner. The other one follows above Genade and tries to grab him.
Round 3
Initiative: Vine Creatures - Everyone - Sejanus(round 4)
Stockade map

Sejanus Corvus |

Sejanus targets the plant monster between Genade and Jord.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 vs touch AC. 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1) + 2 = 7 fire damage. Additional 1d6 ⇒ 6 fire damage and he lights on fire if he fails a DC 16 Reflex save.
For reference, I am using Gather Power and Burning Infusion. They will be my SOP if I have a full round to act.

Morgan 'Sharky' Teach |

As the vine creatures continue to move about, the tree and the movement continue to throw Morgan's aim out. Eventually he manages to land a shot in the vicinity of the creature still in the tree.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 1 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 1 + 1 - 2 - 1 = 12
Dmg 1: 1d8 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 13
Attack 2: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 1 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 1 + 1 - 2 - 1 = 18
Dmg 2: 1d8 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 10

Jord Sturmsson |

Jord watches where his weapon lands and then steels his fingers together and attacks the creature again
Knife point hand chop: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Knife point hand chop damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Dr. Genade |

The doctor continues to perforate the plant, while keeping an eye on the one still in the tree.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 2 = 24
Damage: 1d4 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 1 + (3, 6) = 14

Diamondust |

Reinald will reload and reshoot
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 241d8 ⇒ 1 amazing
Morgan and Genade finish off the second creature leaving only 1 still up above Genade. Sejanus sets it on fire with a perfectly aimed blast of fire. It crackles and begins to turn black, several vines hanging limp. It scrambles away, leaping over the stockade wall via the overhanging branches and going into the trees beyond(40ft. north).

Reinald Malcoms |

Thank you. Busy weekend. You figured my next steps brilliantly.
"This island sucks." Reinald looks about at the surrounds scanning for any other issues. "Glad you are still with us Sejanus." He looks to Jord, "Jord let us know when your divine favor runs low. This place is a grinder."

Sejanus Corvus |

Sejanus walks back, coughing hoarsely and rubbing his neck. "Happy to still be here. I don't need healing immediately, but I hope we don't have another fight like that one."
HP 27/42

Diamondust |

Several of you catch a glimpse of something reflecting the sunlight at the top of the tree. It looks like there is some sort of nest there roughly 70ft. up.
2 potions(?)
3 silver shoe buckles worth 5 gp each
a ghoul finger with a gold wedding ring on it worth 50 gp
a silver hatpin worth 5 gp

Reinald Malcoms |

"Anyone else see something in the tree. Shiny bit way up. I suppose it would give us a view." Reinald studies the tree and starts a purposeful climb.
Take 10 =18
Once up the tree he gathers the items. Before climbing down he takes survey of the landscape.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
He sighs and makes his way down.

Reinald Malcoms |

Reinald lays out the find. "Some trinkets and random drinkables."

Jord Sturmsson |

Jord noting Sejanus injuries will cast a cure light wounds on him
clw: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
"Here my friend this should help a little, i'll hold off on the rest as I need to keep me healing under lock and key, this island be a dangerous place."

Dr. Genade |

The doctor looks in his bag. "Ah, I thought so!" he pulls out a vial. "I do have a potion here, in case things get even more desperate." One Cure Moderate potion.
"Oh, let me look at those." He takes the two potions and holds them up to the light, swirling them a little.
Identifying potions in the loot
Craft(Alchemy): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Craft(Alchemy): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23

Diamondust |

They are both potions of water breathing(CL 5).
The rest of the island is mostly the other side of the mountain covered in the same jungle and then straight into the sea. Inside the stockade you have a place to refill your water. There is also a spyglass affixed to the southern wall pointing south.
The wooden door to the lodge, just like the stockade gate, is ajar. Inside is a single chamber, crowded with a large amount of furniture including a comfortable bed, a small writing desk, cooking gear, and several barrels of rotting food The stench of rot is overpowering and flies swarm within the room, particularly around the hooded corpse hanging from a chain off a beam in the middle of the room. A stool lies on the floor nearby where it was kicked.

Reinald Malcoms |

Reinald notes the spyglass and looks through it.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
He notes the corpse. "Life in the tropics."

Reinald Malcoms |

"Finally! I see some of our squid goblin friends. There is a cove to the South."

Morgan 'Sharky' Teach |

Morgan continues to mumble about cursed islands, but when Reinald spots the squid creatures he perks up. "I'll go aloft and see if I can see a route down and glean any knowledge of those creatures"
Slinging his bow on his back Morgan scales the tree with ease. Upon reaching the top, he casts his eyes in the direction of the squid creatures.
Climb: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Climb: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Climb: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Climb: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Climb: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

Diamondust |

As Jord enters the lodge to search for valuables the hanged man suddenly comes to life. It tries to grab him but finds no purchase. The swarm of flies come to frenzied life at the sudden movement and swarm around Jord(10 damage and DC 13 Con save).

Jord Sturmsson |

Con: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
"Ahhhh.. more swarms." Jords will move 20ft away from the corpse and cast cure light wounds on himself
clw: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Reinald Malcoms |

Reinald appears in thought a moment. He runs an Intercept course and turns to face the swarm as Jord runs past him. The captain swings the sword and unleashes a wave of water from the Tidewater Cutlass at the swarm as it moves into range.
Move, draw sword while moving cast Hydraulic Push.
Hydraulic Push (Bull Rush): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
I need a DM's ruling. Reading on swarms it says they are immune to bull rushes. But this is a magical wave of water. My guess is that a gushing on rush of water would disperse or knock a bunch of insects out of the air. Like a hose on a hornets nest. My roll might muck it up any way but I ask for the ideas soundness against vermin swarms because the fluff of the spell would have an effect that the RAW might not allow.

Diamondust |

That's a weird one. If you didn't miss I think I would give you damage like a normal attack(1d6+7).
The 'man' or undead thing inside the lodge is unable to chase Jord, being held in place by the noose that failed to take his previous life. He must have been succumbing to the ghoul fever already and tried to make sure he did not become one of them.
The swarm of flies swarms angrily around Reinald when he tries dousing them(10 damage and DC 13 fort save).

Sejanus Corvus |

Sejanus stands ready to blast the swarm with fire if he gets a clean shot.
Ready action. Attack if there is line of sight.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 192d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 2) + 2 = 8 Vs touch AC.

Reinald Malcoms |

This sword sucks.
fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Reinald's face falls pale when the wave of water hits a minuscule portion of the bugs.

Morgan 'Sharky' Teach |

Morgan notes the route and the difficulties. As he is just trying to get a better look at the creatures, a commotion breaks out below. Using his boarding axe, Morgan hurries down to join Sejanus and lend a hand if he can.

Reinald Malcoms |

Round 2 Assuming I can move with the failed dave
Reinald pulls himself together and scrambles desperately away from the swarm.
Withdraw action to nearest healer.

Dr. Genade |

"I'm wishing I'd been able to brew up some alchemist's fire," Genade laments, "would be quite helpful at the moment."
He retrieves the cure potion and holds it ready to administer to anyone who might need it.

Diamondust |

Reinald you are only infected with Ghoul fever. That doesn't stop you from moving... Yet ;)
Sejanus burns through the swarm just as Reinald runs for Jord who channels healing for all. Jerieth saw Reinald's trick fail and she tries the same with her last spell. Her aim is better and it drenches a portion of the flies. The flies buzz angrily and change directions again heading straight for Sejanus and also Jerieth 9 damage each and DC 13 fort save).
Inside the lodge the ghoul swings helplessly from the noose still around his neck. He's not going anywhere unless you release him.
Round 3
Initiative - You - Enemies
The Lodge

Reinald Malcoms |

Reinald looks about concerned his skin turning pale. "That helps but things are still foggy."
He looks at the swarm. "Are we running or does anyone have the means to fight this tiny army?" He moves to the stockade and grabs the spyglass and stuffs it in his gear.

Sejanus Corvus |

"Distance!" Sejanus withdraws and prepares for ranged attacks.
Double move east.
Hey DM, I'm supposed to be 60 feet to the right on the map. That's why my attack was a readied action if I had a clear line of sight.

Dr. Genade |

The doctor focuses on staying out of the swarm's way, while staying close enough to dash in to help should anyone fall.
Readying action to move in to help if someone falls or calls for my potion.

Jord Sturmsson |

Jord moves 10ft towards the ghoul and fires off a channel energy to heal again..
"Kurgess benevolence bless my companions with your healing light."
Channel energy: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6

Morgan 'Sharky' Teach |

Seeing that Sejanus seems to have one of the only ways of stopping the flies, Morgan falls back to his position. Racking his brain for any knowledge that might allow him to hurt the swarm, he nonetheless readies an arrow to see if it will have any effect.
Knowledge(nature): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Knowledge(dungeoneering): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Sejanus Corvus |

Well, then!
"Taaaake that!" Sejanus gathers power and lobs another ball of fire at the swarm.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 vs touch AC
Damage: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 6) + 2 = 9 fire damage
Reflex DC 16 to avoid catching on fire and taking 1d6 ⇒ 3 fire damage.

Diamondust |

Morgan you're still climbing down from the tree. You also know a standard arrow would be useless against a swarm.
The ghoul swipes the air in front of him as he swings from the noose when Jord comes a little closer. But not close enough.
Sejanus fries thousands more of the flies, crackling becomes louder than the buzzing. The flies now turn on the origin of the flames and buzz around Sejanus(6 damage, DC 13 Fort save).
