might want to link the gameplay thread in recruitment, or PM it to the other players. With the current board redesign, it's not as easy to find as it used to be.
I'm in California, which is GMT -8.
I've never used Roll20. How's it work?

Emilio Cross |

It's pretty easy to figure out.
There is a huge online library of pictures, tokens, and backgrounds to let you choose from as a GM, and the rolls are usually pretty random.
You can check it out at roll20.net. /url wasn't working for it.

Gm Razor |

Roll20 has maps there if we decide to use and and times to host the battles, the maps and tokens would all be there. If not then I will try to make maps on Gooledoc if I have the time due to the fact that I am going to be a but more busy when school starts.

Gm Razor |

I might need help with the map because I got pretty last minute stuff that I am moving sooner then I thought and that means school is starting sooner. I already have a back-up GM for if I can not post as often since school is from 7:45-3:45. That and my dorm-mates might be stupid and rude about stuff.

Emilio Cross |

I just finished reading through Rasmus' post.
Dear god. I felt like I just read an award winning novel. That was amazing!
Who's Zakarum, by the way? Is he a deity in Diablo?

Emilio Cross |

Rasmus, I love the super long posts involved in both your train of thought and the concepts behind those trains.
I can't wait till we get to combat!

Emilio Cross |

Just as a heads up, GM Razor can't continue as often as she'd like, so this might slow down a little more than normal.
Don't get discouraged! This will stay on as long as we can do it.

Aylya Lafina |

Sorry to hear the, I have some bad news, I am shedding all my slow games, they take up to much time and I have others that move faster. I was hhoping this would be one but with what Emilio;s said I am going to have to drop out.
GM would you be so kind as to remove me as a Player.
Aylya

Rasmus of the Viz-Jaq'taar |

I have been completely unaware of updates to this thread. I have no idea how it happened, so I apologize if I seemed impolite by not responding here.
I'm definitely staying on, though I'm sorry to see Aylya go. There was some personality clash there that I was looking forward to fleshing out. Ah well.
Thanks for the compliments Emilio. Sometimes sincerity can carry a sarcastic tone on the internet, and vice versa, but I'll assume it's sincerity unless corrected. Regarding Zakarum, it's the most prevalent religion in the world of Sanctuary, that is, the setting of Diablo. There's not a whole heck of a lot regarding the actual religion in the lore, but you can read about it here. For reference, the Paladin character from Diablo II is a Zakarumite. Rasmus assumes Emilio's a Zakarumite because he meets most of the obvious stereotypes and characteristics that would indicate one: armored, faithful, crusader-type. Iomedae is actually a really good parallel for the Zakarum religion, at least aesthetically.

Emilio Cross |

Finally have my backstory up! Took me way too long to do that.
Rasmus, this is gonna be a pretty funny combat if you keep sneezing at the skeletons.

Aylya Lafina |

Ok as Lanfearon has gone as well, I do not want the game to end, I was keeping tabs on this game, I dropped for another game I was in, but just just pulled out of then after a player said negative things about me because I am Dyslexic, takes all the fun out of a game when someone dos that.
So guys would you be happy to see Aylya back in, gold hard Aylya and Farther Bear.

Emilio Cross |

As sad as I am to see the four-armed freak (just kidding) leave, it's good to see a familiar face again.
Boy, Rasmus is gonna have a hard time keeping up with that!

Cole Vedic |

Fine by me Aylya.
I've seen Lanfearon submit that same character concept to at least 4 games in the last few months. I hope they find a game where their idea fits. It's interesting, but didn't seem to work well for this setting.

Aylya Lafina |

Thanks Cole, I have a similar PC Rosa Luminass but I play her to fit the game, just the name stays the kind of the same. I did not offer her for this ash she would have been a bad fit, Aylya is much better I feel. She cold and hard will the is soft and nice, if you talk to him :) He likes playing cards

Cole Vedic |

I tend to build families if I submit characters with similar themes across multiple games. At this point I have 4 dwarves from Clan Bellowpiper running around the boards and 5 knights and nobles from House Ravencourt of Ustalav.

Emilio Cross |

And I thought using the same character concept with a different name was just me.
Hopefully I won't make a Rogue or Inquisitor like my other ones should this one meet an unfortunate end.
Just wondering, what do you guys think of this guy? This was my first Cleric build ever. If this works, I may make this guy again.

Cole Vedic |

Consider me scolded. I didn't know what languages would be appropriate. The diablo world is different than a standard fantasy world.
I have 5 languages to pick, and I probably learned most of them from Cain. How about I let GM Razor, or someone else more familiar with the setting, pick them for me?

Rasmus of the Viz-Jaq'taar |

You're a scholar, trained by the man who happens to be the most credible demon scholar currently living. I'm not the GM, so I don't know what her plans are for the setting and the languages, especially 'outsider' languages, but if there's a 'magic language', a 'demon language', and/or an 'angel language', you're probably competent with them. If the Horadrim have their own special language, probably that one too. Of course, I don't know if your character is aware of Cain's Horadrim status or if he's being trained as Horadrim or as merely a generic apprentice. If the mages of Kehjistan speak a different language (or languages), you probably speak one or two of those. From my knowledge of the setting established by Blizzard products, there only seems to be on 'human language', as there's never an indication of other dialects or languages among mortal populations.

Cole Vedic |

Those were pretty much my thoughts as well.
The creatures I remember having distinctly different languages are the small imps from act 1 and the pigmy tribes from act 3 of Diablo 2. Other than that, it all seemed to be the same language.
Except maybe for the cows. Seems like they got an awful lot of variation out of 'moo'.

Dorian Filleul |

Yo, Cole, I'm going to let you finish and all, but first I have to tell you that you're doing your fire wizard abilities wrong. It's a 1d6+1 per 2 caster levels, so at your level it's actually 1d6+2, not 2d6.
As a standard action, you can send forth a 20-foot line of fire. Anyone in this line takes 1d6 points of fire damage + 1 point for every two wizard levels you possess. A successful Reflex save halves this damage. The DC of this save is equal to 10 + 1/2 your wizard level + your Intelligence modifier. Creatures that fail their saving throw catch fire and take 1d6 points of fire damage on the following round. Creatures that catch fire can avoid this damage by taking a full-round action to extinguish the flames by making a DC 15 Reflex save. Rolling on the ground gives a +2 circumstance bonus on the save. Dousing the creature with water automatically extinguishes the flame. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Intelligence modifier.

Gm Razor |

Hey, I'm here to make an executive decision.
I'm gonna close the campaign.
Before you fret, I have good reason.
School has been very hectic, and I've been online much less than I'd like. So for now, I'm gonna close the campaign.
But don't worry! I'm gonna keep everyone who is currently playing as well as everyone who was previously playing in the loop so that when I have more free time, I'll start it up again.
Thanks for your consideration and I hope you enjoyed the game.
