Sophy heads across the catwalk and shines the light of her crossbow down the hallway. Ahead she sees a short passage the leads into another room with a doorway on the far side.

End of Round 2/ Begin Round 3 (Brock still has a delayed action)

Seemingly impossible the creature that Sophy just ran over gets to its feet and lurches after her biting down hard on the back of her shoulder. The creature facing Victor slashes at the warrior with both his claws, but Victor easily evades the attacks. In the corner the sphere reveals a creature not unlike a living bonfire. It's flame tongues searching for things to burn. It streaks at Victor who feels the unnatural heat but is able to avoid getting burned. Erylium appears hovering high above the chambers floor away from the catwalk and flings her tiny dagger at Brock. It bounces off his armor and clatter down the catwalk stairs behind him.

Is Erylium around the same level as the catwalk or significantly higher?

Edit: And does the 90 degree turn in the catwalk prevent Eppy from charging the creature in F18?

Confused, my readied action should have gone off when the fire creature appeared before it attacked Victor. Brock does have 10' reach so he could have reached it from his present square. Do you roll that attack or do I? You could use the same attack rolls and say it came after Brock. Trying to keep them off of you, Vic!

Sorry, I was treating it as a Delayed Action. Once it appears you act, then it continues with it's attack on Victor. You effectively act first this round changing your initiative to right before the creatures.

As the creature appears Brock stabs into the midst of the flames causing it to hiss and flare demonstrating its pain.

She is hovering at the same level as the catwalk, about head high for a standard human if they were standing on the catwalk. Yes the turn prevents a charge.

Eponine runs to Sophy's aid, the creature lashes out at her with one of it's nasty claws. Eponine is skilled enough to evade the attack.

Opps, I was rushing this morning to get all those posts in before going to a work out. I will add 2 more damage to the fire elemental. It's still alive and burning though.

Victor is up next, then Wren and Sophy to finish the round. Brock is now the top of the order and will go after Sophy at the beginning of the next round.

Victor noticing Sophy's nowhere near him, turns and sees her in trouble. "Blasted!" Ignoring the creature in front of him and the other creature that seems to be composed of strictly fire, he takes a step back, turns, drops the dagger and fires and arrow at the one attacking Sophy.

I just died on this! You really do have to wonder, I myself am even beginning to wonder.

Taking in Brock's speculation, Victor can't help but reiterate his previous irritation, albeit a bit more improper. "Dammit!"

Well, I guess it's obvious that we don't play with minis in my home games. We're more a tell the story vs. fight the battle group as is evident on my lack of knowledge on the details of things like the reach and size of creatures, and my other mistakes. Since the demon could not have reached Wren then she could not have attacked her so no damage and no poison. It made a good visual though, the mage dashing across the catwalk, the demon slashing at her face as she ran by. Let's say that part happened except there is no effect on Wren.

It did look cool and I apologize for ruining that...

Female Human Lore Oracle 5

Idiots! Sophy fumes, looking back at Brock stubbornly standing his ground. Men! If they want to stand and fight, let them do it in the dark. She's not going to stick around and die so they can prove how brave they are.

Sophy withdraws around the corner to at least G 25; if there's no monsters there and enough room, she'll continue to back away as far as she can and hope to have room to use the wand on herself before something can track her down. Sorry, guys! Hope that fire creature is giving off at least a little light.

Sophy storms out of the chamber taking the light with her and heads to the next chamber.

Sophy:
The room you enter contains several ancient relics of what appear to be torture implements, although their function and style seem strange and archaic. In one corner sits a spherical cage with spikes protruding inward from its iron bars. In another stands what appears to be a star-shaped wooden frame, its surface studded with hooks. And in the center of the room is a long table covered with leather straps and a number of cranks that seem designed to rotate and swivel. Two doors leave from this chamber and are both closed. You retreat to the corner and are able to use the wand to heal your wounds.

Brock stabs the fire elemental and it bursts apart in a puff of sparks and smoke plunging the room into darkness. With his keen darksight he turns and works his way down the stairs so that he can use the ranseur to attack the creature on the catwalk.

On the catwalk the creature slashes its wicked claws at Eponine wounding her. Victor is also attacked by two claws from the other blood thirty creature. He is able to block one of the long arms but the other draws blood.

Erylium shrieks with glee, "You should have surrendered to us when you had the chance pretty. You can not hide from us in our own kingdom! Your friend will be dying soon and you will be all alone." Sophy can hear the demon taunting her. Brock sees with his dark attuned eyes the tiny creatures dagger appear back in her hand just before she flings it at him again. This time the tiny dagger pricks him in the neck.

I think Eppy still has a direct line of sight to Sophy's light source, unless the door closed behind her. I believe that would put her at the edge of normal light and dim light with her elven low light vision. I'll go on assuming that the room being plunged into darkness stands.

Wren was torn as to what to do. She wanted to run far away and then decide what to do, but she still heard fighting in the darkness as the monsters surrounded her friends. Sophy uses the wand on herself, starts to put it away, and then hesitates. She's still hurt. Normally, she'd worry about the others first. But she's spent her whole life putting others' needs before her own, and where has it gotten her? Trapped in a dark hole with monsters. Well, this time, Sophy's coming first!

Sophy shouts back at Eponine through the doorway. "Don't tell me what to do! I am so sick of everyone telling me what to do! Who made you boss anyway? 'Ooh, look at me; I'm an elf with pointy ears and I'm centuries old so all the men think I'm so good in bed.' Bah!" she spits. "You're probably only 75!"
