Eponine
If that's really how you feel, then perhaps you should go and return that wand. We can't ignore what's going on down here. Today it is Ameiko. Who knows who'll be next if we let this fester down here. It's okay if you're not cut out for this kind of thing; not a lot of people are. I just am usually right about these sorts of things, and I was sure you had that special spark in you.
Eponine looks to Wren. Can you make magical light for us? I used to be able to, but it has been so very long...
Wren Chavali
Wren turned to Epi with genuine embarrassment, "I have that spell in my book, but I neglected to prepare it for usage today. I won't make that mistake in the future," she adds icily, looking toward Sophy, waiting for the rest of her rant.
Wren also jumps back with a start, telling the group that "the body is moving again. Maybe it has some sort of regeneration, because it sure seemed dead a moment ago."
Victor Montoya
"Oh, so you'd be fine if I stayed here and got killed as long as the light stayed on my broken, bleeding body!" Sophy snaps back at Brock. "Well, forgive me if I don't jump at the opportunity to die for Sandpoint! Sandpoint killed my father before I ever knew him, Sandpoint and its damned obsession with rustic carved birds KILLED MY MOTHER, and now Sandpoint asks me to walk down into a hole with a bunch of brain-dead 'heroes' who aren't smart enough to run away from something that they can't hurt while it kills them! Well, screw Sandpoint! And screw you! You want to die down here? Go ahead, but I don't intend to!"
Victor, still standing in his spot, goes numb as Sophy's words hit home. His mind flashes as he sees himself over a dead body, bending down, blood pooling around it. Victor bends down and turns the body over, seeing the multiple stab wounds, blood oozing from every possible orifice. "No." He whispers as a cold fear grips him. Slowly standing, horror stricken at what he has seen, he turns in an attempt to alert someone, yet stops dead in his tracks as he runs into a wall. Chopper.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Brock! Those things are still alive!" He warns, unbeknownst they already know, as he drops his dagger and readies to fire an arrow the first chance he gets.

Wren takes the time to carefully lookat the creatures to see if she recognizes them, and any weaknesses they might have.
Eponine, and Sophy seem to make their eyes alight with desire. It seems they are attracted to the anger, it's almost as if they can smell it. While they keep getting back up, the do bleed so they can be killed. It seems they have some kind of extraordinarily fast healing that is mending their wounds. To kill them you just need to make sure they are actually dead, and not just dying.

Victor let's an arrow fly just before he collapses in the corner, unfortunately it was not aimed well enough to strike anything but a cell on the far side of the room.
The creature on the floor, attempts to climb its way back up onto the catwalk but can't seem to get its feet planted well enough to get up.
The second creature crouches to leap across the gap form the platform to the bridge but its leg catches on the low railing and it plunges down to the floor .
The third comes lumbering in from the statue room, its beady eyes fixed on Brock as it closes in on the half-orc.
The fourth turns towards the corner that the arrow came and moves there to tower over the limp form of Victor.

The Second creature stands up and screams at the top of its longs a blood curdling scream.
In front of Brock the creature swings its claws trying to rip the half-orc's head off. Brock is fast enough to avoid the claws this time.

So, what happened here, according to the posts, is that Wren and Victor saw the creatures stirring to life in clear light and in view of everyone and said nothing until a whole minute passed and then we were surprised. Really? Must be the lawyer in me looking for reason and logic. MD, see OOC thread.

It is difficult to adjudicate time especially in a PBP, Here I am trying to represent that Brock, Eponine and Sophy are caught up with the argument while Victor and Wren see things and make the alert. And then put that onto the schematic of a combat round.
Wren Chavali
These things have a special kind of healing...when we put the next one down, we need to cut the stupid thing's head off to make sure it can't come back again!"

"After we kill this one, I am leaving!" Wren moves up and swings at the creature she and Epi have between them.

She turns toward the one on the catwalk, but her shot is blocked by Eponine; instead she wheels around and shoots at one attacking Brock. Attack 1d20 + 3 - 4 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 3 - 4 - 2 = 1 Damage 1d8 ⇒ 7 However, she is trembling so much with rage that the bolt doesn't come close to hitting. "Clear a way out of the room!" she demands. "We have to get Victor back!"

Brock drops his shoulder and drives it into the creature and with his huge bulk is able to push the creature back ten feet. It snaps it wicked jaws and tries to bite the half-orc but its teeth can't get past the armor. "NO! We go this way if we are going to get out!"

Begin Round 2
You are swaying back and forth, too and fro, in the warmth of the sun amid the flowers of a great meadow. In fact you are a delicate flower, leaning with the breeze as it cools your petals. You stretch and reach to get to the light, the sun far above. You stain and push, but your roots hold you tight. Again you strain to push your self up into the sky to reach the blinding sun. Then a shadow blocks the sun for a brief moment, a moment that fills you with deep sadness because you want nothing more than to get to sun. The shadow passes across you again and again circling down until you can make out it's form, the most beautiful butterfly you have ever seen. It flutters down and kisses your face, it has morphed and has the face of an enchantingly beautiful woman. You are no longer a flower, you are the man Victor kissing her soft and gentle lips. You lean back and look into her mesmerizing eyes as she softly whispers as the sun fades away leaving you in the darkness, "It is not your time."
You are upside down, slung over the shoulder of one of the creatures your head banging against its rump. Your bow is missing, but somehow your unconscious hand kept a grip on your dagger. You are in complete darkness.
You are awake gaining 12 temporary hp, so that should give you 11 hp currently; Miraculously becoming conscious is your action this round. You will be able to act again in the next round. The creature is unaware that you are awake.
The first creature leans in and tries to gnash its split jaw onto Eponine's arm, but she quickly moves it out of the way.
The second creature rushes around and starts to climb the stairs. Brock whirls and stabs it with the ranseur ripping a great wound in the creature as it closes in on him.
The third creature growls and attempts to push the half-orc back, but Brock is too determined to stay put.

Seriously, she could just spend her turns breaking bolts over her knee and accomplish as much.
Mythril DM
Eponine gives the creature a nasty cut, but Wren and Sophy are not as lucky.
Brock steps back to the edge of the platform and slashes the ranseur at his attackers. The first is slashed across the throat, blood spraying out as it falls to the floor. Then Brock plunges the ranseur into the third spawns gut. It doubles over and falls to the catwalk platform floor in a pool of it's own blood. Brock shouts, "This time you better stay dead!"

Take your action in a spoiler please. I am going to go ahead and post the Creatures action in this room to help keep the thread moving.
The last creature on the catwalk bridge tries to slash its claws at the elf in front of it. Eponine is able to duck under one but the other catches her on the side of the head.

Victor Montoya
AC 11; Hp's 11
Victor opens his eyes, unable to see anything yet realizing he's not been carried by Brock. I cannot go back to that demon's room. She will probably eat me, or something far worse. Noticing the dagger is still in his hands, Victor prays Desna will give him the massive amount of luck he's gonna need to get out of this. As he does, he attempts to stab the creature in the back.
Dagger: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

I know an 8 don't hit, but this is a situation I'm not accustomed too.
Above 50 is hit. (I'm switching it up) :)

"Leave her alone," Wren yells at the back of the monster who just knocked Epi down. "Can someone come help us!?"
Attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10

You plunge your dagger into the back of the creatures leg, causing it to yelp in shock and pain as it drops you to the floor. It whirls around and snatches up from the floor.
I don't see how you could miss seeing as you are being held by the target.
Creature Grapple check 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
You now have the grappled condition as well as the darkness
Sophy Cassell
"Ooohh," Sophy growls, as Eponine falls prone next to her. "'Let's go back and face the little queen in her lair; we can take her,' she mocks the fallen elf. "Great idea! How have you managed to live for decades again?" She backs quickly away toward the blood-spattered platform. "Brock, you want to fight something? Come fight this!"
If I read correctly that both the monsters on the platform are dead, Sophy will move to J 13 and pick up her dagger that Victor dropped there before the surprise round. If they stay down at least a round, she can coup de grace next round.
Victor Montoya
Hey Mythril, I completely forgot I dropped my dagger in an earlier post. Sorry. It just slipped my mind. Should we just disregard the attack and continue with where we are now? I'm throwing straws to the wind here, I'm good with whatever.
Mythril DM
Eponine falls to the planks of the catwalk, blood seeping out of her clotting wounds. Wren fails to strike the creature who caused Eponine's predicament. Sophy rushes over to where Victor once lay, she is unable to see her dagger lying around anywhere and in a fit of rage pulls out a crossbow bolt and plunges into the closest dead spawns eye socket. Brock growls angrily under his breath as he rushes out onto the bridge and stabs over Eponine's body at the creature. The creature reals back threatening to crush Wren before it topples to the floor.
Stabilize roll for Eponine 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (16) - 2 = 14 Success!
Sophy coup de grace Creature 3
Brock Attacks Creature 1 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 2d4 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10 points of damage
End of Round 3
Wren then Sophy are up in the prison cells; since there are several time based effects happening please continue to post in rounds even though all the creatures are dead.
Victor Montoya
Realizing that getting away from this creature is gonna be nearly impossible in the dark, Victor stabs away, hoping he can outlast the creature.
Edit: Ac 11, Hp's 11
Dagger: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
1d100 ⇒ 76 (I guess?)
Higher is hit
Edit: Yay!
Feeling the dagger bite deep, "Take that, you demon spawn from Hell!"
Sophy Cassell
"You're going to run off and leave Eponine lying here?" Sophy calls angrily after Wren as she dashes past. "I thought you two were best friends!"
Sophy needs to get to Eponine with the wand, but Brock is in the way; and technically, she needs to use this round to coup de grace, as it's a full-round action. Due to her Haunted curse, it's going to take her 2 more rounds to use the wand on Eponine anyway, so go ahead, Brock.
Mythril DM
You plunge your dagger down on the shoulder of the creature, and blood sprays into your face. It yowls in pain and starts to drag you through the darkness.
Creature continues grapple 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 Success, it use the move action
Sophy Cassell
Sophy shoves the bloody bolt back into the quiver, then fumbles in her pocket for the wand that seems to have a life of its own as it evades her grasp. "Brock! Get out of the way so I can save Eponine's life! Wren obviously doesn't care."
Move action: put away bolt; Standard action: draw wand
Wren Chavali
"If you would have stood your ground and helped us by using that wand, rather than taking our only light source and leaving all of us stumbling around in the dark, she wouldn't need to be healed. Just leave us the crossbow next time, and try throwing the bolts at the bad guys, would you? Couldn't have hit them less times doing that, I don't think," Wren erupts at Sophy. "And another thing, thanks for stopping yourself from crying for two seconds. It's a strange, yet welcome change.Between that and making goo goo eyes at Victor, I wasn't sure you had another expression there for a bit. Now make yourself useful and heal Epi!"
Victor Montoya
Go ahead and post for next round, to help things move.
Victor excited he finally is able to make contact, grunts as his face gets covered in the creatures blood. Even moreso due to the fact that this thing is still dragging him through the dark. His anger rising, "Why. Won't. You. DIE!" He yells as he stabs at the creature again.
Dagger: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Ac 11; Hp's 11
Mythril DM
Wren runs after the vanishing victor, and Sophy pulls out the precious gift from Father Zantus. Brock leaps over Eponine's crumpled form and plants the ranseur into the chest of the fallen creature Coup de Grace.
End of Round 4
You struggle with the creature as it is pulling across the floor and try to stab it with your dagger again. This time your arm's motion is blocked by the creature and your assault fails. It tries to keep dragging you, but as you squirm and fight it is forced to let go.
Creature maintains grapple 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 Fail! No longer grappled
Wren and Sophy are up
Victor Montoya
Victor unable to connect, swears at his folly, but then feels the creature drop him. Unable to see anything, and not caring, Victor gets up quickly and moves the opposite direction as far away as he can.
If I'm prone, I'll stand(move action, AOO), and then move(move 15'). If not prone, then double move(if possible 30'; also AOO) away. At least until I run into something. :)
