Wren Chavali
Wren reveals the magic to her friends, and sees who wants to make a claim to any of the items.
"I suppose the authorities need to know what has happened up here. Anyone else have anything to do here, before we go back?"
Mythril DM
To finish off the cellar chambers
The door to the east reveals an empty room filled with the light stench of decay indicating the zombies that attacked you upstairs probably were kept here. The western door reveals the necromancers bedchamber. It is a relatively stark room that features a simple bed, a study table, and a plain wooden chair. A spell book sits atop the desk.
Wren Chavali
Wren never failed in the opportunity to check out a Spellbook. She grabs it, and places it in her satchel. "Perhaps some good can come from this nasty necromancer after all...we can use his spells for the side of good.". She uses Detect Magic to help point out any other magical items that the group needed to consficate.
Wren Chavali
Im thinking return to Sandpoint and let all the authorites know what was going on with the necromancer. I could also be talked into exploring the "ghoul activity" on the map however!
Nuri Besnic
Not taking Grayst. He's too much of a danger to others. I'd rather leave him locked up here at least until we can get Father Zantus's opinion. I would like to take the necromancer to the sheriff if we have a way to carry him that far. Could we requisition a mule or something from the sanitorium to sling him over?
Mythril DM
After securing the prisoner with a lacing jacket and a gag you are able to bring him back to consciousness. He is weak from his injuries and remains passive, though his eyes betray his feelings for all of you...disgust. In short order you return to Sandpoint and turn him over to Vachedi, the shoanti jailer, and then head off to meet with the Sheriff.
Once in his office you fill in Belor on all that transpired at the sanitarium. You can tell the news weighs heavy on his soul. "This is difficult to hear, but good job getting to the root of it. I will dispatch some of the guard to deal with this "ghoul activity." Kern this may be a good job for your patrol now that Belril's men have abandoned us. I'll trust you to handle it. As for Gryst, what is you plan to handle him?"
Mythril DM
The sheriff nods with approval. "Yes Father Zantus could be of great help in this matter. As for Belril I am uncertain. He supposably left with his patrol to seek out this killer and went south. Towards this ghoul activity. He has not reported in, and Sargent Blake reported hearing a rumor that some of his patrol were acting more as highwaymen then highway patrol. I hope it is not true, but due to the dire circumstances of this case I am going to assume the worst."
Mythril DM
Finished with your teams report to the Sheriff, you walk across town to the cathedral and request and audience with Father Zantus. In a short while he appears and ushers you to a sitting chamber where you all my speak in privet. "How can I be of service to you today, friends."
Wren Chavali
Wren takes the initiative and tells Father Zantus all about the group's investigation so far, and the undead menace at the asylum. "Undead trouble is taking over. It sounds like Gryst has been taken by the infection. Is there anyway to cure it?"
Mythril DM
Father Zantus listens to Wren and then says, "If he is to far gone, then I doubt normal physician techniques will be able to cure him. Your only hope for aid will be a divine blessing." He excuses himself politely and several moments later returns with an incased scroll. "This should be able to help you."
He hands you a scroll of remove disease

Here is a redo of the Leads List I posted awhile back...updated to reflect recent events. What do you wish do do next? Feel free to go off track of the AP I will adjust as needed so that you all do not feel rail-roaded. The next logical thing is to go and investigate the ghoul activity, but if you come up with a different plan thats fine.
Mythril DM
Before leaving town and returning to the sanatorium, you report in with the Sheriff. While Belor would prefer Kern lead his squad to investigate the ghouls he understands the importance of your current investigation. "Kern you go with them, I will take your patrol and investigate the ghoul activity. From this point on I need my best sergeants working with Nuri and Roakkad to figure out what this mess is all about. Consider yourselves special investigators relieved of all your regular duties until such time as this problem is dealt with. Sergeant Blake will check in with all your squads and make sure things are good for you".
A few hours after leaving you are once again at the Sanatorium. Habe does not seem pleased to see you back so soon when one of the orderlies ushered you into the large downstairs room again. "And what can I do for you now deputies?"
Mythril DM
Habe eyes the scroll suspiciously but consents to your request. "For the safety of my other patients I will have him brought down again. We will then return to the upper floor to continue our work while you deal with mister Sevilla." You wait a fairly long time, but eventually the mad man is ushered once again into the long room, his arms secured behind him. Seeing Eponine again he shrieks, "Oh, you have returned. Did his lordship spurn you...does he love me more? Oh take me to him." His tone is pleading, but then he sees Nuri standing before him with the scroll out. He eyes grow wild and he starts shouting, "YOU, NO NOT YOU. Stay away...away, go go go gogogogogo! The master said that the bodies you are finding are signs and portents, that when he is done, you shall be remembered forever and the Misgivings shall be your throne! Go away I do not want you here!"
Wren Chavali
"Signs and portents, remembered forever, the Misgivings shall be your throne? Does this mean anything to anyone? "
Basic knowledge roll without any skills applied. 1d20 ⇒ 6
Nuri Besnic
"I'll have to touch him after I've read the scroll," she says under her breath to Roakkad and Kern, clearly not relishing the prospect. "Do you think you can hold him still?"
I presume she could have taken 20 on Spellcraft to decipher the scroll back in town with Father Zantus's assistance? If the pair get Grayst grappled, here's her caster level check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 Aaaand all this kerfuffle has been for naught, as she can't remove the disease. :P
Mythril DM
Kern and Roakkad hold Gryst tightly, but he seems not to struggle as Nuri approaches reciting the divine words that should remove the taint from his soul. He curses her and screams, "You know my master, you have spoken to him before, find him at the Misgivings...join the pack and the killing will end." The scroll burns away in bright but harmless blue flame and she places her hand on madman hoping his rantings will cease as the fever is cured.
He laughs wickedly, "Oh his lordship will love devouring you. yesssssss!" He rolls his head and sees Eponine pressed back agains the wall. "But you he loves, why not me? Oh make him love me!" His head drops forward and he shudders violently vomiting blood that reeks of rotting flesh onto Nuri's feet.
Wren Chavali
"Misgivings seem to be the key. If you have this situation in hand, I might sneak over to the library and do a bit of research on this term, and see what I can find out."
Eponine
He laughs wickedly, "Oh his lordship will love devouring you. yesssssss!" He rolls his head and sees Eponine pressed back agains the wall. "But you he loves, why not me? Oh make him love me!" His head drops forward and he shudders violently vomiting blood that reeks of rotting flesh onto Nuri's feet.
Eponine lunges forward, getting closer to Grayst than she probably should. She shouts "Who!?! Who is he?!? I can tell him NOTHING if I can't find him! Who, damn it!!!"
Nuri Besnic
"Does this situation look in hand?" Nuri snaps at Wren, recoiling from the hot mess at her feet. "Just let him go," she tells the men. "Let him turn and kill everyone in the area. No one else seems to care one way or another; I don't know why I should!" She stalks outside, tears in her eyes.
Mythril DM
Gryst eyes go wild as Eponine approaches. "He is the master, he is the lordship, he is the one....oh why will he not love me as he loves you? I gave you his message, you must obey! Go to his Misgivings, join his Pack, he will end his harvest in your honor." Blood foams at this mouth and he fights to pull free of Roakkad and Kern.
Consider him having the grapple condition due to the straight jacket and Kern and Roakkad's hold, but they are not in the grappled condition

"What are you two doing? Let her go be by herself. It's not our fault that she can't work a scroll properly," Wren snaps back in anger.
