Torches would have a limited affect on the swarm of bats. But it will be better then a piercing weapon.
Try to think about how a normal bat swarm would act around fire.

Rather difficult since bats don't actually swarm or attack people. But yes hitting something as fast as a bat is difficult at best.
We may have to just haul in some firewood and burn them out if no one else has anything. Clerics just don't have a 1st or zero level spell that will work
The building is stone correct? What about the interior ceilings and roof? I don't want an inferno collapsing on our mushrooms.

Just be sure to select the most updated map when you say the map is updated, because then people use that map to update.

From the map, I guess I didn't realize there was enough of '12' left to counts as a room.
GM Giants, What are the walls, ceiling, and roof of this portion of the structure made out of? If it is all rock, we're pretty good to go. If it has some wood, shingles, tar, tiles, etc... we will have to be more careful.
But we should be able to smoke them out. Get wet/green leaves, green grass, leafy vines, moss, bark, and things like that should just barely burn and give off huge amounts of smoke without any significant danger of it spreading.
If each of us has a backpack full of dirt ready to dump on any area that spreads also with our canteens or any other containers filled with water, we should be fairly safe to try and control it.

@Nebdel the building mostly stone will a stone or clay tile roof. So your plan sounds good for the purpose of not burning the place down.
@August I assumed you had the Masterwork Studded Leather. The hammer is unknown right now.

@Nebdel the +1 August is talking about is the Masterwork Studded Leather.
@August it up in the Corebook. It will give you +1 to your AC over your Leather Armor and being that it is Masterwork it has a 0 Armor Check penalty at skills instead of the -1 ACP for normal Studded Leather.

just a thought, what if I wielded the torch as a weapon, to keep my shield? How would that work, some type of improvised weapon?

If a torch is used in combat, treat it as a one-handed improvised weapon that deals bludgeoning damage equal to that of a gauntlet of its size, plus 1 point of fire damage.
So a -4 to hit 1d3 damage +1 fire damage

I was thinking that the others did not have a way to attack the spider so I was moving on to the next round but they could always try a ranged attack into melee with you providing cover for the spider. Not likely they will hit but they might. They could do other actions as well.

This was a big OOC comment, so I moved it here, but it's directed at GM and everyone.
First, my character is assuming it's a spider in the corner (but he'll ask it to respond just in case it's a trapped beast). Which corner? Or, more to the point, can I shoot that corner with the crossbow from outside, or must I move inside?
If we can shoot it from outside, is there a way from the map that we can get multiple fighters to get AoOs assuming it comes out after me?
If we have to go inside, can we arrange the players form a gauntlet the critter would have to run to to attack whomever shot at it?
If it's impossible to shoot at it, can we throw a torch in the corner from outside?
I'm just trying to maximize our group's chance at AoOs so we can minimize our damage since heals are all gone for the day. Would anyone mind if me or the GM moves the group members on the map to accomplish this? I normally wouldn't want to move other people, but it might be faster, since I really don't want to shoot or toss a torch until everyone is in place.

How many hit points of damage does each individual still have?
I want to make sure I make the best use of my very limited casting. I only have at max 3 level one spells and a single d6 channel.
I will scan through the lists again, but I don't think I have any spells available that will be useful against a bat swarm. If it were bigger individual bats? Yes. But not a swarm.

@ Nebdel - I will take Calm Animals and Speak with Animals. That means I won't have a heal spell, but it may be effective to just talk the bats into leaving.
