Hey Rookseye, I told you I have not rolled a good roll since combat ended. At least we didn't crash.
Welcome Davi and Wrath to the game. You are entering it just as it is getting interesting.
One degree of failure is a lot better than three, Lorm. I think Uriah availed himself pretty well considering his rustiness with flying spacecraft.

Heya Rookseye, been busy with teaching stuff so havn't responded sorry.
Some ideas for background
Ivaanov is a member of the machine cult. They often have their own agends for being in an area, but are loyal to the empire so will work with other factions. Ivaanov could have been dispatched to check on some rare tech in the area and been sequested to the arbites official the others are seeing.
Alternatively he has been sent by the machine cult as part of his training, assigned to the arbites but they're trying to get rid of him (for whatever reason, maybe he's just an annoying guy hehe). Either way, when they arrive for their meeting, he is there to join them.
Another option is he has been working with Armhazzi's old mate and he is going to send him with the investigators for tech support.
I don't know how much you want harmony within the group. Ivaanov could be a great support working with the guys, or he could be a mole for the Adeptus mechanicus. I leave it you master dm.
Cheers

Wrath those both excellent ideas, and I'm thinking of incorporating both of them. I see Ivaanov as someone requested by Desius Krade to serve on retainer from the Adeptus Mechanicus as part of the group to aid in the investigation. The fact that Oremor is rife with abandoned archeotech in the 'equatorial dumping grounds' (I really need a better official name for this area) is just another reason for the Machine Cult to go along with the request. Perhaps Krade has clout enough to allow Ivaanov unfettered access to this region.
If you can keep a secret, I will brief you on exactly what specialty Ivaanov has that is so necessary to the mission if you want to email me. I'm not ready to reveal this as group knowledge just yet.

OK, Wrath, I have transferred your profile over to a character sheet and just wanted to note a couple of changes I made. I bumped your INT up to 38, and your PER up to 32, purely by GM fiat. So please note this on your profile sheet. Like Albrek originally was, your rolls seemed to be on the low side, and this brings you more in line with the attribute scores of the others.
I will try to have your sheet posted to the wiki in the next 24 hours or so. Once it is up, I will let you know. I am only waiting because I would like to post both you and Davi at the same time.
For my current players that have take advances, your updated sheets should be on the wiki later tonight.

Some new material has been added to the Oremor Affliction wiki, I'll let you guys discover what it is.

Wow you sure have been busy. Read most of the changes earlier. Got your email and passed the word along.

Hi Lorm/Bal, since we will soon have five playing again, I was wondering if your friend still wanted in. I offered him some alternatives for characters, or if he preferred, the opportunity to assume Albrek or Ishmael, but I haven't heard back to this point. Despite not being able to accept his initial character concept, he is still more than welcome to join if he so wishes.
Any feedback would be appreciated. Things in game are about to get interesting, so having an idea would help so that another new PC would have a logical entry point.

Might be offline for awhile. Both my computers died this week. So will try to cannabalize parts to get one of them going. If not will try and use a friends system to check up on posts every few days.
I will see my friend tomarrow. Ask if he still wants to play in the game. I know he had his heart set on playing a Sister. Its the army he plays in 40k. He is the one trying to rebuild one of my systems. Lorm will give me game updates on the game; and he will post my replies til I get a system going. Hope to be back in the flesh soon.
Balfic

OK, thanks for the heads up Bal, hope to see you again soon.
One computer is completely dead. Blown motherboard. Will try and get the other one running tomarrow if I am lucky. Talked with my friend said he will bow out for now.

Sorry to get back to you so late. I've been busy with a computer LAN party over the weekend and getting into a new job outside of that. I haven't been on my computer while it's online in nearly a week.
Balfic/Chris is right. I've decided not to play. Not that I didn't like your game, I would have been honored to play in it. After the initial anticipation of playing a Battle Sister wore off, I just realized that I might not stick with posting as much as I might need to. I really have to pay closer attention to my own real life roleplaying game. As I am a stickler for details in making characters, I am also with my game world. I'll pay attention to the posts, though and continue to read your superlative, descriptive content. Thank you again for the invite.
As for Balfic/Chris, I plan on getting him up and running tomorrow. One of his computers has a serious motherboard issue and the other needs to have an entire overhaul. It's gonna be a chore.
Talk to you later.
Steve

Thanks for the kind words, Cera, I'm glad you're enjoying following along. Like I said before, it will probably be worthwhile to remain a lurker, because I think I may have an interesting NPC role you could segue into a little further down the road. Also thanks for helping Balf with his PC issue, his hive-scoundrel will be moving center stage in short order and we'll need his seedy expertise!

Davi The Eccentric |

Davi, Wrath, I should have your character dossiers up on the wiki later tonight. I foresee Ivaanov and Iacton coming "on stage", so to speak, within the next couple of scenes, so be ready.
Hurray! Also excited to finally read another pair of character dossiers.

Davi The Eccentric |

<sigh> unfortunately I have no money to buy all the expansions for this game. I have invested in the Pathfinder system instead, and only have the core rulebook for Dark Heresy. However, I hope you all enjoy the amazing reading the book is likey to provide.
Cheers
Yeah, and I can't afford it because I'm a jobless college student who's trying to make his remaining money last as long as humanly possible. Still, it sounds like a good read, although if I had the money I'd get Rogue Trader before this.

Lorm Dragonheart |

Rookseye, I hope I am not screwing up your plot, but I felt Uriah had to keep to what he said to Ishmael. I hope you are enjoying the byplay between the characters. Uriah just hates being told that he is not religious when he knows with all his heart, that he is. I guess that Ishmael and Uriah will just never get along. lol

![]() |

Lorm, don't worry, the interplay between Uriah and Ishmael isn't screwing up anything. Until Val jumped the shark with Ishmael's behavior, I felt that the pair's disparate backgrounds would lend itself to some mutual animosity that could provide a little spice to the RP'ing in the group. I decided to keep Ishmael roughly intact, personality-wise. I think the most recent posts are in a sense a 'clearing of the air' between the two of them. Essentially an "I don't like you" and "you don't like me" but "we need to make this work on some level to get things accomplished".
I don't necessarily foresee this getting much better between them, nor do I see it turning into open violence (Hopefully, heh). It will probably remain pretty interesting, however...
I'll be posting a little bit later tonight, as I have to get the little people off to bed.

Rookseye, was Uriah given a code in case of major complications to send to Ahmazzi? Like our contact being kidnapped or an attempted assassination of us, or a code that identifies us as acolytes so we can act with at least some authority. I know this would be used with caution and should not be use unless it hit the fan, but I believe that Uriah would know if this is such a situation.

As acolytes acting under the authority of one of the Inquisitors of the Holy Ordos, you and the others are essentially extensions of his power to act in the Imperium. Often, just mentioning this is enough to get your point across, as few wish to question or contradict the will of the Inquisition.
However, when necessary, to prove your vocation and allegiances, you also have the option of displaying Inquisitor Ahmazzi's rosette. However, the use of the rosette is something one should do sparingly, as it not only blows whatever cover you are masquerading as, but also exposes your master's actions, intentions, and name to the scrutiny of the world at large. As the Inquisition favors secrecy and subterfuge, abuse of the rosette is considered a serious offense in the eyes of the Inquisition.

Additionally, Uriah has the necessary information to contact Inquisitor Ahmazzi through an astropathic transmission, provided there is an astropath available. Your transmission channel is "Code Iota", which will reach Ahmazzi regardless of his location. Incoming messages from Ahmazzi use the "Benedum" cipher, and those outgoing messages sent by your particular group of acolytes use the "Taper" (like a candle) cipher.

Hi guys, can we just clarify in OOC who is with which team, and just where everyone will be going?
My present assumption is that Rico, Uriah, Quincus and Druuther will be making their way to Krade's offices, while Savalos, Albrek, and Ishmael will be tailing them looking out for trouble.
I just want to make sure we are all on the same page.

Balfic-graa |

I was under the assumption group 2 would be lead outside the Spire, and would tail group 1 once it ventured outside. To see if anyone was had marked Krades men and were following them. Quincus and her bodyguard were also part of group 2.

Picked up my copy of the Radicals Handbook today. So far its a good read. It does have a Penal Legionnaire Career Rank which would be good for Albrek. Sadly there is nothing for the lowly Scum in the book. They mention the Saboteur Career Rank, but forgot to put it in. Guess I will have to wait a bit for my Radical idea's.

Anything interesting for assassins?
(Just blatantly curious.)

Balfic-graa |

Yeah there are a few choices. The Sin Eater being the coolest in concept. Which Guardsmen and Arbitrators can also take. Maltek Stalker is unique to the Assassin Class, and all of us can take Warp Dabbler. The Saboteur can be taken by all of us all well. Sadly its not in the book.
They added 3 new Orgins:Blighted Schola, Darkholder, Hive Mutant, The Tainted Blood of Malfi. Darkholder is an alternate background to a Voidborn. Looks like a good choice for you Davi from reading your background.
