Taldor sees the fire situation is still bad, but perhaps can be handled better now. However he see's the animals continuing to rebel. He decides they need a mother's touch. charge attack on nearest rowdy animal
Haha! I can't help but picture a fleeing goat getting nearly decapitated, yet not really hurt, flying through the air and landing in an unconscious heap.
Kara |
I'm sure someone familiar with battle or war or fighting would have no trouble at all identifying the fact that Taldor's using nonlethal damage. Kara is none of those things. Also, ooc I have no problem at all with you doing it and it's a pretty unique solution. How Kara reacts is a completely different thing though.

Resist FIVE. Walking on lava is 2d6. Immersion in lava is 20d6. There's a LOT of fire Mas'ud can't simply ignore, BEFORE you invoke magical fire!
Right now it is kind of a cheap ability, but that Fire in the Blood (or whatever the correct name is) can eventually ROCK! Being exposed to fire (damage dealt to Mas'ud) activates Fast Healing 2 for 1 round. Said damage does NOT have to penetrate the Resistance to activiate this ability! It is currently kind of cheap because the healing received under this ability caps at 2 x character level per day.
I figure Mas'ud is in far more danger from lack of oxygen than he is from this more typical fire.
Tolus the Serpent Servant |
Still, fast healing x is better than fast healing 0. It may be capped kinda low, but at our lvl any healing is good. All you need to do is carry a lighter around and you can have healing whenever. You need to look into the feat (maybe spell, cant temember) that grants healing from fire. Forget it's name though.

sand of course doesn't turn to mud when you get it wet, it just turns to wet sand.. lol... but then you can still throw wet sand on the fire to help put it out!

yes, and the body that was pulled out is badly burned at the arms, in fact they are blackened, and is clearly female with short hair, it appears to have flame in her hair that will not go out no matter how many times you attempt to do so.
The princess will look forward to meeting with you on tuesday.

Just curious: Does anyone here plan to take dazzling display or to otherwise constantly demoralize foes (or make them shaken/frightened/panicked)? If so then I'm going to build Tolus toward an archery-based rogue and pick up shatter defenses for many ranged sneak attacks, if not then I'll just go standard TWF and get my sneak attacks through flanking.
(In addition to my plans for all the poison use. I mean, when you can poison a weapon as a swift action, why wouldn't you?)

I plan on building along which ever lines seem most appropriate given the circumstances. If I am weak in combat, I will take combat oriented feats, otherwise, I plan on building towards RP ideas, like the Childlike and well-prepared feats.... So until I see how the campaign is unfolding, I will have no idea what I will do with my character. For now, I just assume that having a fiery miasma of doom plant a harrowing card on one's chest is not a good sign...

Kara:
I built a TWF character for my Jade Regent game. As a pure fighter, he didn't have any spare feats to burn on things like Dazzling Display until WAY late in character advancement. Not having all the fighter feats reduces the number of these you'll qualify to take, but it also reduces the number you CAN take by more than that.

heh... I won't be going twf!
Tolus the Serpent Servant |
Indeed, two are TWFing already (not counting me) and we have no archery at all, but deway said this would be a challenging group. If we had constant demoralization going on then I could go archery, but the damage is pitiful otherwise.
TWF is the standard for rogues, but I'm researching alternatives. Honestly, it may be standard for a reason and we'll end up with 3 TWF'ers anyway.
Khatijah |
You can make an archer rogue work. Point-Blank Shot and Precise Shot are the two must have feats for it, Deadly Aim is also nice, as it allows you to Power Attack with a bow.. Invest heavily in stealth and perception (which you should do anyway) and you should be peachy. You'll be up front, a lot, but you only have to be in 30' feet to Sneak attack.
Fionnbharanel |
We may have no very skilled archers, but we do have a cleric with a crossbow LOL... so at least we have one ranged attack, even if it will be a challenge to hit with it. She's just generally challenged in a direct fight anyway, she's more a support squad with some blasting power... though how much her firepower will do is questionable since I'm guessing we are likely going to be facing things that are resistant or immune to fire.
But you guys are gonna all need healing, so I'm guessing Fionn's going to be handy to have around regardless.
Tolus the Serpent Servant |
Clerics are handy no matter what, you're right.
As to the archery, I can't sneak attack unless I'm in a flank with a partner or they're somehow flat-footed or denied their dex. I found a list somewhere of everything that does that. I'll have to find it again.

I am not posting frequently at the moment, though I am reading all the posts.. Arizhel is a coward at heart and she is just starting to realize it. She is afraid, and now pondering what kind of omen the card was. As the adventure progresses and she (hopefully) survives, she will become more outgoing and more confident. At the moment, she is the only person here who doesn't seem to know her way around any weapon beyond simple weapons. Not a heartening experience.
Yesterday I had 4 children at the eye doctor, and today 5 children and a spouse at the dentist. This weekend we are camping, but I have an iphone with mobile hotspot, a laptop, and my car has a 110v outlet. So I hope to have limited access.
If not, see you all Monday evening!

Hey when all you know is slavery and fighting that tends to be what the conversations revolve around. :) On the other hand, once the adventure really gets going, I'm sure we'll have plenty of other things to talk about.
Indeed, though the only reason it was brought back up was azariel's comments. Tolus spoke quietly to prevent a bar scene re-visit. I didn't want to leave the poor shy summoner out of the group. :). And I thought it a good time for Tolus to make a tiny step forward and truly recognize the validity of his new friends experiences by acknowledging that slavery wasn't always a good prospect.
