"How long does key take to work? If we get lost, we should just find good weather."

HP: 142/165 AC:32 FF:29 T:17 F:16 R:18 W:20 Init:+4 Percep:+28

"Why does it smell of death here?" Ragnvald asks drawing his sword. "Mobo can you sneak ahead and see what lies in wait for us before we blunder into its maw?"

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

Jez raises her nose and takes a deep whiff: Smells like where I grew up. Except that it was not as quiet since those being tortured by the demons tended to yell a lot.

Mobo scouts ahead?

The path winds through the forest and you can only see as far as roughly 50m until the path vanishes behind another turn.

Dark Archive

Male Goblin Gunslinger/6

Mobo slips into the underbrush, quieter than a mouse, and follows the trail and stench ahead as far as he dares or until he sees something amiss.

Stealth 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32
Survival 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Attalas waits for the scout, seemingly happy to be taking a break.

@Mobo:

You follow the trail around the next turn - a strange sight appears before you: There are at least half a dozen large der bodies lying on the path. Since they have already begun to putrefy, the stench here is almost breathtaking. The bigger problem though is that the stench has lured a gigantic carrion moth out of its lair. The monster feasts on the carrion and you guess it will not like anyone who interrupts it...

Dark Archive

Male Goblin Gunslinger/6

Looking down at Boomstick, Mobo decides instead to turn back and let his friends know what's ahead.

Stealth 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22

If not seen, Mobo makes his way back and says quietly,

"This many dead deer," holding up several fingers on each hand, "Being eaten by big bug with pretty wings."

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

Jez listens to Mobo: Does it look tasty? It would probably make a good meal for Attalas, you and me.

Male Ogre HP:72/72, - AC: 20/T:12/FF:17 - Perception: +2(Dark Vision) F: +12/R: +3/W: +0 - CMB: +13 - CMD: 27, Speed: 30ft, Init: +5 Warrior 1/Fighter 4

"I hate big bugs, they as bad as Mayors" Attalas spits the last... he draws his sword and starts advancing.

As soon as Attalas turns around the corner and comes into view of the pale carrion moth, the creature begins to shriek and flap its wings.

For a moment it blocks out the sun with its 15m spanning wings and even Attalas has to gulp down a flicker of fear.

The white body of the monster is covered with small fur markings that look like skulls and the stench the monster emits is by far the worse you ever encountered.

Charge?

male Half-Elf Wizard 6

15m?????
This looks like a good chance to make it up with Desna
Charge would not be the right word, but Kosti spreads the fingers from his right hand out , pointing in the creatures direction, speaking a few words in a harsh sounding language.

On his sad initiative of 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 Kosti casts Magic Missile for a meager 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3) + 2 = 6 points of damge.

Is Kostis Mage Armor still on?

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

Jez looks at her large companions. Then as she draws her falchion.

Attalas and Ragnvald, shall we?

Ragnvald grins. "I think something has finally gone right today."

Problem is, TPK aside, we had to run away from the last encounter, so the next one was getting a fight!

Attalas charges...

Jez misses the massive monster, but Mobo's bullet puts a nice hole through one of its wings.
The moth, agitated by the band of smaller creatures attacking it lashes out at Jez with several tentacles and its large mandibels and simultaneously begins to flap its wings

Drone (Ex)

The flapping wings of a carrion moth emit a mind-numbing drone that affects all creatures within 80 feet that hear it. Affected creatures must succeed on a DC 15 Will save or become confused for 2d4 rounds. A creature that successfully saves cannot be affected by the same carrion moth’s drone attack for 24 hours. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Carrion Moth attacking Jez /Bite 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

The tentacles cause paralysis for 2d6 rounds if a hit char does not succeed on a DC 15 con save.

[ooc]A tad confused myself sorry I just woke up.

Seeing the droning begin to affect hsi companions Ragnvald replies with something to shatter the droning.

Standard: Countersong

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 Perform check

Jez: Why only one save vs. the tentacles? I guess two should have hit?

Ragnvald's booming voice just drowns the droning, suddenly the air is filled with words of steel, power, women, fire, fights...

Waiting for Nymeria

Didn't realize I needed one for each tentacle.

Does this mean that none of us have to worry about the confused since I believe we can use Ragnvald's countersong in place of our save?

As long as I am not confused.

After a sucessful save you are immune against the droning for 24h

male Half-Elf Wizard 6

alas I didn't roll any succesful save yet, I was asking because of Ragnvalds countersong.

P.S. Sorry if I seem a bit dense at the moment, not your fault, just a lousy day

As Jez pointed out, you may use Ragnvald's save instead of yours, so all is good :)

Female Tiefling - Demon Spawn Fighter(Lore Warden)/2 - Oracle(Lore)/1 - Sorcerer(Crossblooded-Draconic(gold)/Orc)/2 - Dragon Disciple/1 [HP 52/52; AC18,T13,FF15; F+5,R+6,W+5; Per+7; Init +2]

Yeh, Countersong has always seemed pretty useless, but now in two campaigns is has suddenly become very useful. It allows the Bard to counter any sonic effect, in effect giving the players within 30' a second save using the Bard's perform check. So in this case you all got a second save using the 19 that Ragnvald rolled. As the 19 beats the DC of the Moth's droning, you all made the save and as the effect is save and be immune for 24 hours, you are all save from being Confused which is quite important. None of us want Attalas to be hitting us because he is confused.

I think that would be quite interesting!

male Half-Elf Wizard 6
