The hag steps into the room, notices Kavriki sitting on some cushions, and raises a claw to her lips. ”Hmmm.. unexpected. Are you sure she’s the one?”
"Yes-", the Mariner answers coldly as he plants cleaver at the hag's head.

Cats seems very confused, but does draw his curveblade.

See now, This is what I wanted. Thank you Mariner. This prompts Cats to join in the reaction. I tip the dominoes and they fall down, one after the other. I'll be damned if I am NOT the smartest person in the whole bazaar.
Brother smiles, he is pleased. Subconsciously curling and twisting his mustache with one hand. sliding his other hand over his bald and cleanly shaven head.

As Quaveandra considers the assassin, the Mariner makes the first move, drawing his sword and aiming for the hag’s ugly face. His blade takes a pointed ear.
”AAARRGHH!” Quaveandra howls, clutching the chopped remains and looking incredulously at the man that just attacked her. ”What in the hellish F$&#!!”
Brother Butterfly rejoices in his faith, asking for a blessing of fervor.

Finding herself surrounded and bloody, Quaveandra snarls and makes a waving gesture with her hand. She pauses for a second, a look of surprise on her hagface, then makes a couple more quick gestures before screaming in rage.

Cats nearly takes Quaveandra’s head off, his blade leaving a large slash in her neck. She falls to the ground and gets pummeled by a few magic missiles from Fearless, then stabbed a couple times for good measure by Pinkie.
Slipping out from behind the pillows, Kavriki takes a look at the night hag’s corpse.
”Hmm. Well, looks like I found the right assassins for the job. Good work!”
She tosses her empty potion flask over a shoulder. As it shatters, she steps to the body and cuts off one of its fingers. ”I’m sure you’ll find her heartstone on her somewhere.”

Remember the name The Watchmen. We are taking the Dreamlands by storm. Also remember to be a good girl -if/when- we meet again. We are the good guys, and ...well... your profession might put us at odds. I don't think anyone of us want that.
BB bids her goodbye. Watches any of the other Watchmen grab the heartstone and the sapphires. He doesn't want that level of wealth on him right now.
Then he'll concentrate on disappearing back to the ship.
Fearless gives a small nod of appreciation as he concentrates on getting back to the ship. While this mission had been easy on the others it was fairly brutal on his own body. He collapses on the floor, snoring loudly as he sleeps his internal injuries off for a night.

Cats will follow suit, happy to get out of the Dreamlands and not wanting to return, ever. If he could. But probably not.
"Hey Catless, you're mostly normal, right? Have you noticed anything weird at Catiner recently? I mean, he's always been a scary catthirsty maniac, but now he's even a *more* catthirsty maniac, you know?" Cats asks Fearless when they are alone.

Fearless moans in his sleep as he is awoken. His bruised body hurting, he rubs his eyes and sits up part way. "What do you mean?" He thinks back on it. "Guess I noticed a little bit but we are doing what we need to escape and survive. You thinking his old ways are beginning to come back?"

Brother B, not really being nearby checks out the galley to see if there's some good wine or rum to drink. He doesn't find any. Peculiar, like it was hidden from him on purpose.
Meanwhile, elsewhere on the ship Fearless and Cats are engaged in a good heart to heart
another empty bottle? That's the fourth one I've found.

”Wait, what?!” Cats questions Fearless as the halfling brings up something he hadn’t thought of. ”You think we’re *already* going cat to where we were?! Oh cat no, that can’t be right. Have you notice a change in me?” Cats crosses his arms and shakes his head. ”No, I don’t want to go cat. I thought I mentioned that already. I don’t want to go cat to who I was. Nope nope nope.”

"Hard to tell as I can't remember much of our past but the Shapeshifter is sure drinking more and more each day. Not sure if you noticed the empty bottles all over the deck." Fearless kicks a few empty bottles with his foot.
Uncertainty plagues the thoughts of the Watchmen as the Starling continues along its course. Is the Mariner losing his grip? Is Brother Butterfly falling off the wagon? Is everyone against Fearless? Why is the crows' nest called the crows' nest? Hey, what happened to the Harrow Deck?
Some of these questions remain unasked, and some drift out from under the bed where Pinkie has taken up residence.
Fearless gets back to work, finding more clues about the last object you will need to offer as tribute. You are seeking the red webbed
foot of a rare monster called a wamp that is rumored to reside in an abandoned city of the Dreamlands called Arventon.
A few days later...
Cats lounges in the crows' nest, watching the world drift by. Somewhere below one of the old sailors rasps a lilting sea shanty. Suddenly, from nearby, he hears a small squeaky voice.
"Melon rinds and cookie crumbs, apple cores and dripping goo. Yum yum yum yum. So many things a rat can chew!"
"Oh yeah, help yourself. Plenty of cat for all," Cats scrunches away so the rat can help himself.
"What are you doing up here? I figured all you cats would have fled the ship with Catterfly aboard. He might have tried to, uh, you know...well, it's best not to think about where he might stu--, well...uh, I'm glad you're here. Help catself."
Cats looks at the rat.

The rat blinks at Cats, snaps up a morsel of discarded bread, then scampers back over the rim of the nest and is gone.
As it does, the small voice pouts.
”Awww, well that’s just ripe.. it left without leaving anything for me.”
Cats follows the sound of the voice and realizes it came not from the rat, but from a tiny mushroom growing out of a small amount of rotting leftovers in the bottom of a long forgotten wooden bowl of stew.

Cats looks down at the mushroom.
”Oh yeah? What do you cat there?” Kast asks. ”You look like a fun-guy. What do you need? I can help. I’m making up for past wrongs, you see? And don’t want to be mean to no cat, never.” Cats smiles at the tiny mushroom.
Oh yeah. Gunna be nice to things and earn more redemption. This is a good plan.

”Oh! It speaks! Ahhh!” The voice cries out in shock. ”Run away! Run away!!”
A second later...
”Oh yeah, I don’t have legs. Guess I’m just going to sit here while you... wait, how are you talking? I didn’t think you big hairy huge-mans where intelligent. I mean, the other one that sat there didn’t talk at all, just sat there staring off like a rock. Though I must admit he smelled a lot better than you. Like a breakfast sandwich. Speaking of which, yes, you can help me! See that nugget over there? No, not that... nope... warmer, warmer, cold! Warmer, hot, hotter, yes! That’s it!”
Cats hand hovers over a rat turd.
”If you could just drop that on me, that would be great.”

Cats picks up the rat turd and moves it over to the fungus, happy to help.
”And yeah, if you need any fresher stuff, just let me know. I’m sure I can create some for you, or visit the poop deck and cat out the stalls. Might be some nice swill around, heck, the way Catterfly been hitting the bottles, might be some fresh runny stuff, if you’d prefer,” Cats continues his completely normal conversation. As long as he can be of service, he won’t think about how and why this conversation is happening.
"Ohhhh.. that's perfect. Thank you so much!" The little mushroom exclaims in joy. A moment later, it wiggles.
"Hmmm. Well, that's weird." A tendril from its base slithers out, cracking the bowl before colliding with the side of the crows nest. "Uhhh.. I think I'm gonna..."
Suddenly a mass of slimy tendrils and vines burst from mushroom, filling the nest to overflowing and tossing Cats over the side!
Hanging from the rigging, Cats sees two more tangled shambling masses rising from the deck below, vines flailing about and threatening some of the Sellen's crew.
Brother Butterfly, Fearless, Pinkie, and the Mariner hear a commotion from outside the cabin and Skywin's voice calling out in alarm.

The Mariner stares bleary eyed at the bulkhead, just having sat up from the Dreamlands massacre. A row of folded maps tucked in journals sits on a bookshelf upon the wall. One title lingers in his vision, a paper bound smut bought from many ports ago, The Wee Shop of Horrors. He had picked it up after hearing cheerful hymn from the street troupe that sold it.
A furry ball with a long tail runs by, breaking him out of the haze. "SKYWIN!!! There's a godd@mn rat on the ship!" He furiously stalks to the door and yanks it open to shout across the deck. "I--! ...."
Cats hits the deck, but bounces quickly back to his feet.
Within the cabin Pinkie argues with himself under the bed, but doesn't come out yet.
The vine monsters writhe about, the one in the crows nest pulling hard on the top of the mast, the wood creaking loudly.
Below, the others slam vegetation about, threatening pirates and Cats.
One pirate is slapped hard between a couple vines and hoisted into the air.
Skywin dashes from the helm, leaping down to the deck as she draws her rapier and stabs the thing holding one of her crew.
The old pirate near Cats screams out "Hell with this!" and dives overboard to escape certain death.

Hearing the call of alarm, he brings about the best defensive prayer that his Goddess likes for him. It makes him look good. Like a preening peacock.

Cats is feeling pretty smug about his carefully orchestrated tactical retreat to give the party time to recover and adjust to the foes. By denying any of the bad things an overwhelming position (thus making it necessary others to risk more to help him), Cats is feeling good...
...until he sees Catterfly blithely walking into the center of the creatures.
He’d facepalm, but his hands are full of sword.

Fearless, not expecting trouble, comes running out of the cabin in his underwear and dagger in his hand. "What is happening out here?" He sees the massive plants. "Did they come from the ocean?" He tosses his dagger to protect the crew.
