Hi David,

Here is one more for you to consider just for the fun of it:

Sirasa Seeks the Sources, Female Human Shoanti Sorceress.

Would Mathematical Prodigy as a Trait be OK?

Mathematical Prodigy is good.

Good luck everyone!

Liberty's Edge

I am in a neck to neck competition with you Walter... Good Luck! (and to the rest too).

Well, I didn't go to the mutt-hut (I am a second level canine handler; it is a four level prestige class) because my back is hurting, and I got responses to a couple of PMs that I sent out, and I had a short nap to sleep on my decision and it didn't change after I woke.

So without further waiting, will the following six (6) folks head over to the discussion thread to confirm that they are still interested in playing:

Ordrud
Lothalian Sybellus
Sirasa
Rask Delvedeep
Harek Ironshirt
Kazmir Brightbeard

Thank you very much! Creating the alias...

Hello all,

The skill monkey character has dropped out, so we are looking for a replacement character. LINK to the first recruitment post. We are looking for a rogue or perhaps a bard (with Trap Finder trait) to fill the hole.

Create a 6th level character, but only 500gp in gear and a single +1 item (weapon or armor). You are with Lady Alexandria Galekin trying to figure out a way into a fortress to rescue her husband who was kidnapped by some barbarian mercenaries.

I would like to have this wrapped up within one week, if possible.

Dotting

GMT+1. I have an elven ranger I could kitbash into something that'd probably fit very well here.

Would Dungeon Rover be good enough for trapfinding, or should I go full on Trapper?

Edit, actually, just found the Trap Finder trait, that should be more than good enough. Might still go for Dungeon Rover though.

Edit2: I just noticed that this is a core only game. Given that my idea was for an elven Ranger into Lantern Bearer, I'm obviously going to be dropping interest. :(

Damn. It was pretty much a perfect game for that character too. Oh well. The best of luck in finding a trapper for your game!

Have you allowed any unchained rules as suggested in that first post? If so, would an unchained rogue be acceptable?

Sorry, No unchained.

Hey DM Papa.DRB, when you posted this game seven months ago I was in the mood to play a Halfling, now I've got two in games, at the time I was thinking a Halfling druid to have a mount, should-a could-a would-a, right? Kazmir had a Halfling druid already posted so I dropped out.

Now that you are looking for another skill guy I was wondering if you would allow an "Eldritch Knight." I had an idea for a character that I started in PFS. He just didn't fit well in that venue so I haven't played him much. He started his training as a Ranger (trapper) and then trained in Magic so he could be a knight like his mentor/hero.

Obviously with no archetypes he would use the trait "trapfinder" to simulate his trapping skills, he will only have one level in ranger so it will not change anything. Then the next five levels as a magician (universal school). So at level seven he would go Eldritch Knight with your approval. In his desire for adventure he would have wandered north and came into the services of the Lady.

@Robert Henry - That would meet the requirements, but I would have to be really impressed with the other roguish abilities / knowledge skills in order to select this character.

@All - It is Wednesday 2015/11/18. The current crew are just about wrapping up an important battle, and will be moving on where they would meet your character and Lady Galekin (after they level and get a nights rest), so please have your submissions ready in the next 48 hours or so,

thanks for your interest.

-- david

Can you tell us any background on Lady Galekin, presumably she's from somewhere in the Land of the Linnorm Kings, in the region of Rybalka. And her husband has been kidnapped. Anything else you can share?

Ex-adventurer who married a local minor noble (also an ex-adventurer) and they settled down. With some of the trouble he hired some guards to help move the family but they betrayed him and captured him. She moved her family to Rybalka (village adventure started in) and is now going to find her husband and hopefully rescue him. The party does not know any of this. In the long run, this is a minor plot point so no need to build a huge backstory with her or her husband in it.

Hi DM Papa.DRB. I would like to throw my hat in the ring for this one - would a
ranger/wizard going EK/AA be acceptable? Seems to be ok according to the character creation rules?

@Albion, The Eye - Read my post three above yours please.

May I present Esgalwathel Ninaelil, Elven Rogue, for your consideration.

Please let me know if anything looks problematic. Thanks.

48 hrs is doable, a little nervous about the "other roguish abilities" this character would be more a replacement for your ranger.

Since we are in the north, would you permit the racial subtype "Artic Elf"?

As for the single + 1 Item, can we do a mitheral chain shirt instead?

"Other roguish" along the lines of scouting mostly.

No racial subtypes, please.

Yes to mithral chain shirt instead of +1 item.

Liberty's Edge

This is RH’s ranger/wizard Eldlen Meirdrerel, he has the trapfinder trait, instead of the trapper archetype.

He is a little older and wiser since his left his home in the Fireane Forest. He spent a couple of years with the pathfinders in the city of Absalom and eventually tired of the internal politics. Wanting to see more of the world he wandered north eventually turning to The Lands of the Linnorm Kings where he has been working in the employment of a local lord.

The fifth level wizard feat I took as craft magic arms and armor, if you would prefer something else, or if the group needs something else I would be happy to oblige. Obviously since he just turned 6th level he has not created anything.

I am still working on his spell book, the remainder of the money will go to purchasing scrolls to install in the spell book.

Edit: I am -5 GMT, and check the boards several times a day.

My bad DM Papa.DRB. I did not realize a similar concept had already been put forth...

In any case, I realize you intend this to be a fast recruitment, and since I will be away for all next week, there probably isn't a chance for me to actually apply on time.

EDIT: Actually, now that I look at Eldlen, I realize we would be quite different. Namely, mine would be a mostly ranged character.

Ok, submissions closed.

Eldlen Meirdrerel - Ranger / Wizard / EK
Esgalwathel Ninaelil - Rogue

Thank you both for the applications. Both are very good, however, I have decided on Esgalwathel Ninaelil. Please go to the discussion thread and confirm that you are still interested in participating.
