Lirianne glances around at all the possible avenues of approach, and decides to simply plant herself by the fire to cover all possible angles, then starts a watch for oncoming foes.

As the Pathfinders set their watch, they keep their eyes focused on any possible avenue for the Vessels Below to take. A few hours pass and several members of the group aren't exactly keeping the best watch as they begin to tire.
Just as a sound draws their attention eastward, the trained assassins spring an ambush from the west. Rushing ahead at the half-orc, a man carrying nunchaku springs from the shadows along the hill's side. Further off and hidden in the large rocks, a halfling pops out with a small longbow and lands an arrow in Ulisha's gut (6 damage to Ulisha).
Ulisha grunts as she pulls the arrow free, her blood drenching the ground.
"There... ugh... here...!"

Note: The campfire provides 20ft of light. You can have any personal light source you wish in effect prior to combat, like continually refreshed Light cantrips. Otherwise, I assume the halfling by the rocks is tough for most people to see at this point.

Lirianne . |

As the assassins spring into the camp and draw first blood, Lirianne drops the cloth she was using to polish her weapon, calmly swings it up to point at the one outlined by the fire's flickering light, and fires.

Wordlessly, he gestured to the halfling sniper, who's next arrow sunk into Lirianne's arm (4 damage).
Then, the man stepped forward, his nunchaku a dizzying blur as he pummeled the gunslinger with the blunt weapon (10 damage).

~Sajan~ |

Sajan moves into position next to Jirelle (1W,1SW,2S,1SW). The firelight reflects off of his temple sword as he raises it, but instead of bringing it down on 'B' he makes a jab with his free hand in hopes to stun the assassin.
Stunning Fist Unarmed Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
The monk's fist finds solid contact on the assassin's vitals. Firelight reflects from Sajan's direction once again, though this time off of his pearly whites as he cracks a satisfied grin. The nunchaku hit the ground a moment later, it's wielder currently stunned.
Stunning Fist: (it drops what it holds, can’t take actions, loses its Dexterity bonus to AC, and takes a –2 penalty to AC)

Sajan's blow does have its intended effect as he recognizes Jirelle stabbing the assassin just before his hit connects. The assassin falls to the ground, dropping his nunchaku.
Ulisha rushes to Liranne to administer her wounds while the halfling assassin now focuses his attacks at Sajan, seeing him at the biggest threat to his mission's success. His arrow hits the monk's leg (5 damage).

~Sajan~ |

A little disappointed at the lack of a fight that the first assassin put up, Sajan turns his attention towards the gnome.
"Aren't half-orcs supposed to be fierce in battle?! Let's see what you can do!"
The bloodthirsty monk charges straight to Lerynn's side, finishing his movement with a slash just over the short head of his tiny foe.

Having his charge lane blocked and having his armor slowing him down too much to reach the last enemy and still be able to extract some revenge Oloch looks around the field of battle and notices his fallen comrade, unable to stablize her from a distance he hustles to her side
(double move next to Lirianne, will try to heal her next round)

The assassin, silent in his duty thus far, opens his mouth to respond to Jirelle's taunt.
Sssssss.....
As blood burbles up and sputters, the halfling raises a hand and tries again to explain the mantra of the Vessels Below.
Ffffffssss....
Collapsing, his efforts are cut short.
Out of combat!
Ulisha comes rushing out to take a look at her would-be assassins before throwing her arms around Zadim.
"Oh you did it! Now we must hurry before Anwald decides to hire more Vessels for a follow-up attempt!"
So you've technically made a bunch of gold fetching and selling the various items from Ulisha's journal. Anwald Tullivor is the "gentleman" who set these assassins after Ulisha by naming her an enemy of the Red Revolution. His motivation was clearly because Ulisha stole the platinum cup from the Tullivors.
You have a few choices on how to proceed to wrap this up, but essentially your goal now is to get Anwald to stop his pursuit of Ulisha, either by repaing him for the value of stolen cup... or some other diplomacy or trickery. I'll let you guys discuss how you want to proceed, but essentially it will come down to (a) Paying him, (b) Diplomacy or (c) a Bluff.
Once you decide, I'll wrap up (if you pay him out of the proceeds of the items Ulisha led you to) or set the final scene (if you use Diplomacy or Bluff). If we go that route, we'll take the person with the highest Diplo/Bluff, have them roll and get some assist rolls.

//Adowyn\\ |
I have to agree with Preg.. if anyone had a high enough diplomacy or bluff, we could keep the money and the silverhex.. but I really don't see that as a viable option. Maybe just for shits and Giggles we could all roll something and go from there if it's high enough?

Bluff: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Well, I'll be darned.. Ok. With a few assists and some props (like a blood stained shirt or something of Ulisha's), we may be able to convince the guy that Ulisha is dead. We killed the assassins for payback, and everyone walks away with no harm no foul. We dont mention any money, and he gets his "justice"

DM Panic |

Adowyn works hard along with Oloch's help, suggesting Ulisha has expired at the hands of the assassins.
His eyes flit over the heavily laden bags of the Pathfinders.
"And that means her possessions go to whom next. Your Society? I'll assume they will also inherit her debts."
Gritting his teeth, he continues.
"I've seen my share of Pathfinders in my years. Each one easily carrying thousands of gold in wealth, caring not for whom they upon to obtain it. You may believe my family is one of the wealthiest in Avistan, but I assure you, we cannot even collectively compare to the wealth of a single adventurer in the upper echelons of your organization..."
Anwald seems quite unwilling to budge on seeking recompense for the chalice stolen from his family by a member of the Pathfinders.
It's a fairly hard DC to make, even getting to 20 with Adowyn's roll and Oloch's assist.
It's funny money at this stage. You've all made thousands of gold from the items Ulisha sent you to fetch, so 500g is easily handed over.
Barring objections to handing the coin over, he will forgive Ulisha and the Society and call off his personal crusade.
