AK, you were in a WotR where the DM was going to run a "short" prequel to tide the group over until the first AP issue was available, and it ran several months and ended without ever getting into the actual AP, no?
Yup. Not worried about Okoya's reliability but I would prefer to keep it on the short side nevertheless.

I don't use Herolab but I think I can keep this guy straight. He is pretty straight forward.
That isn't why I was asking. :)

Aw thanks Alex. lol :)
And yes, it is quite short. As long as you allow me a little leeway in the exposition to get you to the site, it should be fairly quick. :)
My plan is to exposition a reason why everyone shows up at the same spot at roughly the same time to explore a recently unearthed tomb. You meet and greet and then decide to delve the tomb together. A short four-ish rooms later, you emerge and then we move onto the AP proper.
Sound ok?

I will admit that I am leaning somewhat towards the sorcerer (he was made for a similar setting, after all). I do find both characters interesting though, to be honest. I am hoping Joana will help with my indecision a little actually. :-)
Well, I'm leaning toward the lore warden so I'll look into finalizing that character if you want to run with the sorcerer. The buzz is that there's new swarms in the first volume, so consider learning an AoE spell. I despise the swarm mechanics. :P
Another point of interest with the prequel-delve is resources, either having to expend what we have or gaining some sort of treasure. Might want to consider a reset before the beginning of the AP proper, in that whatever we might come out of the prequel with doesn't benefit us more than in replacing anything we might use up.

Ok... I am going to tentatively assume that Joana is going with her fighter and Castor his sorcerer unless told otherwise. :)
With that assumption, I will work up the prelude tonight and tomorrow and have it ready to go for... let's say Monday? (We could go sooner if there was an interest to get things going earlier) (Stay tuned for potential questions regarding your characters.)
And don't worry, I'll be keeping an eye on the delve's potential costs and rewards. ;)
It is my understanding that this AP is very "hollywood" as opposed to gritty realistic, and as such, I will be setting up the pre-lude with the same feel.
As for the swarms? Yes. ;) Don't forget to employ mundane solutions to potential problems. A flask of acid or alchemist's fire can come in pretty handy. :)
Joana
That's the one my gnome had. Of course, hers was 2d4 at 1st level, which would have been pretty awesome. :)
I looked at your sorcerer in Mark's recruitment thread, but that was 4th level; I wasn't sure what your spell selection would look like at 1st and in a dungeon crawl rather than a presumably surface setting.
F. Castor
Actually, a Tattooed Sorcerer gets the Varisian Tattoo feat at 1st level and since Corven will have the Evocation version of it, he too will be casting burning hands at +1 caster level, making its damage 2d4 as well. :-)
As for spell selection, I was thinking: 0 - acid splash, daze, detect magic, disrupt undead, prestidigitation; 1st - burning hands, mage armor. The extra 0-level spell is thanks to the human favored class bonus spell known.
By the way, what is our wealth at 1st level? Average, maximum or do we roll for it (you mention standard for each class)?
F. Castor
Hmm... Unless I am mistaken, Professor Aristedes seems to be missing a trait. Since he has taken the Family Ties drawback he should also choose a third trait, right?
On a different note, I see a couple of Greek -or at least Greek-sounding- names. I am looking at you Mr. Aristedes and Ms. Kyriakos (although you use them as last names, I will give you that). :-P
Joana
Hey, we're Taldan. :) The sample Taldan names given in the campaign setting are vaguely Koine Greek.
Male: Domitian, Eudoxius, Galadon, Iacobus, Ioseph, Marcian, Menas, Narses, Olybrius, Origen, Stilicho, Theodric, Vors, Xanthan
Female: Adula, Charito, Eudocia, Euphemi, Ionnia, Kale, Komana, Pasara, Salvianella, Semne, Viviana, Xene
The Professor's first name is Egyptian, in homage to his family's ancient successes in Osirion. Fittingly, the name Pherenike has an Egyptian connection as well.

As both a heads up and an FYI - I shall be wending my way on holiday starting Monday, and will be out of the country from roughly 2-3 weeks give or take (through to about 10th April).
During such time my online time shall be curtailed from what I'm usually capable - which should engender a reduction in verbosity and potentially some unreliability when it comes to posting rates and speed.
I'm more that happy to be DMPC'd whenever it's appropriate, but am hopefuly that I should be able to keep up with all the PbPs that I'm currently playing in during the time down-under.

I should tell you that this week has been... tiring and will most probably continue to be so until about Tuesday with the next three or four days being spent away from my computer. I am not entirely certain whether I will be able to create a character profile or post until then, but I shall at the very least try.
Kheled Hadri
As per my PBP I think Mark is out of pocket for the next few weeks so unless you want to jump in Okoya, we may be waiting until he finds some time over the next couple of weeks.
I was wondering if his dwarf and this one were the same :].
DM oKOyA
He did post in thread that he might have time to post once everyone was at the caravan. I'll give him some time, and if he doesn't post, I'll DMNPC him to get the caravan under way. The get to know you RP can happen at the dig site just as easily as on the journey.
Keeping with the idea that we want to keep the prelude short, I was going to have the trip to the site uneventful.

Hi everybody.
I know DM oKOyA has told you all about my interest in joining the game, so I just wanted to pop in and say hi in person. Most of you know me, since I've been gaming with oKOyA, Terok and Alexander in Alex's Kingmaker PbP for the past four years. Two of my PbP games ended recently, so I find myself light on games.
For this game, I'm hoping to play Layla Meskhenet, a pharasmin undead hunting inquisitor native to Wati. She could easily be connected to Kheled. She would be filling the roles of frontline melee, enabler and scout. I hope to have her Alias and full backstory ready later today.
I hope all of you approve of my entry to the game and look forward to gaming with you.

Fair enough - I also have a male version, Tarik. And Wisdom is the characters main stat, so I can easily downplay the melee role in favor of a more support oriented character.
Another character idea I had was to play a halfling rogue, another servant of the professor's family.
Let me know your thoughts. I won't join unless I'm 100% certain everyone is ok with it. I'm late to a full party, after all.
