GM, can I get confirmation that my 5-foot step was in fact okay? His intention is to step into the square that would have been flanking if Marcus hadn't killed the thug first so he doesn't provoke when he takes out and drinks his potion.

Go team Riddleport! Cut their tonkers off!
Pay no attention to that no good Calistrian Harlot. No telling what he'll catch off her.

Yeah Tipster. The 5ft and potion was fine. It was the further movement that wasn't allowable.
Oh!! I understand. That square I gave was to show where he went with his five foot step, since there were two options that put him out of reach. That's all.

I'm loving this. It's challenging to GM and I hope it's rewarding for you also. Forcing the story on after this though.
I totally dig this! I don't know if this is a story encounter, a random encounter, or GM-crafted add-on but it's really cool. On the one hand I don't have a clue who these guys are and what they want from us and that makes it feel that there is something bigger going on that we don't know yet. On the other hand I love battles that last for more than three rounds. That's when tactics start to really matter.

Sorry guys, I'm a little in over my head ATM. In addition I'll be on a trip to Vienna from tomorrow. Could you please npc Ascaria for that time? I hope everyone's still alive when I'm back :-)
Vienna? Wicked!
Sorry about my absence. THings got really busy this week and I've not yet had a chancce to catch up. I didnt wnat to lose my place in the main thread... :P
Feel free to bot me, and bear with me for a few more days!
| Twigs |
Thanks for botting me thus far! I did half of my catchup this morning and did the rest just now. I'll try not to disappear for that length of time again, though Waife's rolls were amazing. It seems he makes a better Iscarel than Iscarel. :P
Uni, work, and an increasingly more demanding girlfriend tore me away from my Pathfinder books for a few weeks, and with a friend joining my other pbp and me dropping out of another (I figured this one was more deserving of my posts!) it took me a while to get around to the hundred-or-so posts in this thread, though I'm sure the father-of-two is much more busy. Sorry once again for my absence!
Looks like I've just met the cutoff for spitting some snark at Saul, so I'll just make a low-key entry and focus on the happenings tonight.

Fires up the VCR and hidden camera. :3
LOL! Yeah... I get the feeling - yon elf maide... ...er 'Lady of Passions' likes herself a bit of mingled elf-blood every-so-often! Elven women ARE a little more petite than human women. Half-elven men ARE a little... er more 'robustly built' than elven men! LOLS!

I know, I jest, I jest. But I'd like something to do but whisper in corners tonight. Nothing seems to go my way in this city, does it?
Would getting some poison be out of the question? I've been meaning to do it in character, but I missed the latest block of downtime! That is if I can afford any...

It's a tricky balance to make, to be sure. Everyone (including Tam) seem to write him off as a snake on sight, though. Perhaps I'm overplaying my nasty streak? I've been trying to strike for a one on one conversation since I jumped back in to hint at some appreciation for Marcus saving my hide, but these damnable womenfolk keep dragging us every which way! :P
... also I'm sort of delaying my character development for some kind of homecoming. Perhaps it was not the best way to plan out my character.
| 'Tam' "Darquestryder" |
Now wait a minute! Tam is nothing but reservedly polite to everyone... especially prickly Calistrians who seem to thrive on taking offense and getting revenge! :)
It's not that Tam treats Iscarel as if he were a snake as more that Tam does not get chummy with anyone he has no previous dealings or knowledge of. He is VERY cautious not to attach himself to anyone who he has not made the measure of. He's had years of folly under his father's ungentle tutelage to teach him the error of that!
As for his growing friendship with Marcus.. he has seen his valor and courage.. proven in battle in his refusal to abandon a comrade! As far as Desna is concerned no greater devotion can be made than to defend ones allies with one's life in risk trusting to luck and skill to see one through!
Tam does not know much about Iscral and ... his father's influence has made his very cautious of elves from Kyonin as, Tiam - his father, is a wanted criminal from there and Tam looks Soooo much like him! So Tam is not readily going to get 'chummy' with elves... even if he is interested in knowing more about them... though he would NEVER admit that!
Tam has no idea what crimes his father is guilty of in Kyonin... kidnapping and murder he expects... but he certainly knows his father never went within 1,000 leagues of that 'accursed land'... as he always put it. Tam does not want to be confused with his father's crimes due this his similarity in appearance.
"The Sins of the Father of the burdens of his sons!"
Tam does not have a 'fatherless-boy' complex.. he had a father and he was a terrible dad!!!
I notice also... at least Iscaral is getting the npc's to talk to him... Tam usually gets ignored! LOL! but I'm enjoying the story none-the-less. You can keep all the drama... Tam's got his own problems - in his own head!
hehe!

I select what posts are most important with the time I have available. Yes, I may intentionally ignore a post for a time but I do always intend on answering it.
LOL! Please take not offense at my words meant in jest.. they were not a chastisement of you DM_Waife! I realize that sometimes one must wait quietly for the lime-light as it were. The main story plots take precedence especially since this, encounter-plot has been building for sometime. :)
EDIT: Wow.. that's odd! Why does this forum change words sometimes in your posts?
"The Sins of the Father ARE the burdens of his sons!"...
I distinctly remember tying are not of... strange. Maybe I'm typing too fast?

Working hard playing catchup this week. So I'm going to try cut down on how many times a day I check the thread. Every two days rather than thrice a day might see my essays done. I should also probably start posting in my other PbP's again rather than just my favourite... :P
I'll chat with the others for the rest of the evening (I feel like Iscarel hasn't had a chance to act friendly with all this whispering in corners), but once it's time to act we can cut it all short.
