Dhaavan wrote:
"You can tell me what's going on here, now that we're in private," once they are out of earshot from the strangers.

"Well, for one, we are in the Stolen Lands. And strangely enough, when I arrived here after Amen and Horatio - and I entered the door not moments after they did if you recollect - it was 2 hours later to them. I know, I know, it is quite odd."

"Anyway, there is no sign of Horatio. We've no idea what has happened to him. And these four horseman came upon us and have been friendly enough. We are not in the midst of battle so all is well. They are having some form of trouble with one called 'Marquis' - I believe was his name - and they wished to be certain we were not part of his regime."

"Outside of that, I believe that covers everything up to this point. " He then begins to chew on the inside of his lip in thought, running it all through his mind again as he tries to figure out what he might be possibly missing. Shaking his head, "I guess that is all. Although, it does feel like I've left something out."

Currently at the ruins
As Amen-set points out the message, Rajah looks over at it and moves a bit closer, deciding to give it a try with his newly acquired helm.

Not sure if the Helm can read it or not but what the hey, might as well try. :)

No worries at all! The writing is in Infernal :)

You move from the trees to the tower door, getting close enough to read in the rain, but not so close as to set off any potential traps.

After studying it, you can see glowing letters in Infernal -

Message:

- To Servants of the Order of the Scarlet Wyvern -

If you serve The Order, then speaketh, then, the word "Friend" in the Infernal Tongue and the door shall be opened and thy shall not be burned alive!

- The Marquis

If you can speak the word "Friend" in Infernal, then you may try to do so :)

As you ponder this message you're now closer to the tower; depending on Rain's actions, you should be better able to hear her from your current position, though she is still on the other side of the tower and nearly 40 feet above you - but that will depend on Rain's action and what she decides to do on her turn.

"HA! This is fantastic! Okay, all, just one moment," he says to the others and then speaks in the dialect of the written language as instructed.

Infernal:

Rajah actually speaks Infernal! That's awesome! I knew he spoke one of the devilish type languages but wasn't exactly sure which one it was, so, I had to check. :P

"Friend"

He then waits to see what happens.

Dain GM: Is the heavy rain coming down on the webbing and spider through the broken roof? Also, has the spider seen Rain yet?

Rain flapped her leathery wings and flew back 5 feet (she's now 25 ft back from the edge). It was unwise to try to engage the creature alone, if she could help it.

Fly check to hover with penalty for strong wind (DC 17): 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 10 - 2 = 19
Stealth not to be noticed by spider: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15 (Sucky roll. Hoping the sound of the storm and the heavy rain can help Rain here and give her some kind of bonus.)

Rain then began to cast defensively in the storm,
Casting Defensively (DC 17): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19 and the metal spear point became notably denser in look and feel - giving her some advantage if a fight ensued between her and the giant hunting spider.

The DC for concentration check for casting this 1st level spell in wind with rain or sleet is 6, so I'm going to assume the above suffices as her modifier is +11 and she succeeds.

Giving a quiet command, her magical pike extended to its full 20 ft length. (Swift action.)

With her off hand, she searched inside the pouch around her waist and withdrew a vial of antitoxin just in case. She'd be ready to imbibe it as soon as she was able to.

Communicating to Neko via their open telepathic link she gave warning, //North of tower. Giant hunting spider. Beware. Help. Tell others.//

Free action: Fly 5 ft back and hover.
Standard Action : Casting Defensively Lead Blades on her magical pike. Spell duration is 5 mins. Used 1 1st level Ranger spell.
Swift action: Extended reach weapon - magical pike - to 20 ft length.
Move action: Retrieved antitoxin from pouch.
Free action: Telepathic message to Neko.

-----

Neko's Stealth: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22

Neko, having quietly moved a little closer to the part/section of the tower where she had seen Rain fly up toward (north side), heard the mental message and relayed it immediately to the others via the telepathic link with the party,

//Rain in trouble. Warning. Giant hunting spider. North of tower. Careful.// Neko kept the message as short/simple as possible in hopes the others would know how to act upon it.

Active Status for Neko: Mage Armor on herself (lasts 6 hours), Telepathic link 100ft range. The telepathic link includes: Rain, Jiro, Amen-set, Rajah, Dhaavan, Christopher Ironhorse & Daeron.

The words on the door shimmer and then they fade. You hear a click and the latch lifts and the doors swings open into a dark, dry room.

Rain Taneththir wrote:
Dain GM: Is the heavy rain coming down on the webbing and spider through the broken roof? Also, has the spider seen Rain yet? .

Rain; the chamber this spider is in is essentially intact. You think but are not sure, that there is a set of stairs at the opposite side of the chamber which goes to a floor above the spider’s lair; but, the entire upper floor is completely crushed and broken, except for a piece of the wall. If you landed on that part, you’d just be standing on a pile of rubble; the only place to move in or around is the window before you. Since the spider is through the window before you, the weather is not effecting it. Also, it is near the window itself and can see you very clearly.

You are now 5 Feet back from the opening of the tower where the spider is residing; your spear is now extended 20 feet and you’re able to hit the spider if you want to use a Mythic Point to do so. Do you want to do that also before the spider takes its action?

Amen-set hears your telepathic link and calls out –

”My senet is in trouble! We must hurry!” she adds, then charges forward into the deluge toward the tower.”[/b]

Amen-set uses a double move to move 60 feet. This will move her twenty feet from the trees and then begins to move 40 feet around the circumference of the tower (from your position there’s roughly 94 feet to get around to the north side of the tower from the south side). She is now only 54 feet from the base of the tower below Rain and doing her best to hurry.

Seeing Amen-set run both Daeron and Christopher set off after her – they’re about 10 feet behind her and moving fast; sadly, all three are ignoring the open doorway.

Okay, thanks to the GM for his rough sketch of the tower and position of the enormous spider. Let me try this again. Retconned action.

Seeing the hateful look in the eyes of the enormous hunting spider and being on her own in its presence, Rain remembered the section of the roof on the floor above the spider that was still in tact from her earlier aerial scouting.

Rain flew up, against the heavy, cold rain, and landed on the slanted end portion of the roof, behind a half wall which would give her some cover against the spider. She furled her wings by her sides to keep steady.

Fly check with strong wind penalty: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 11 - 2 = 26

Using a Mythic Point to cast a spell - Lead Blades.
Holding her pike in both hands, Rain began to quietly cast, making the metal spear tip of her pike more dense. Concentration check to cast in wind, rain and sleet (DC 6) - Rain's modifier with Combat Casting is +11, so auto succeed.

Sending a quick telepathic message via their open link to Neko, Rain asked to golden cat to warn the others about the giant hunting spider and its venom and poisoned web attacks. (Please use Neko's action (her stealth to move closer to the side Rain is on and her telepathic communication with the party) from my original posting, GM. Thanks.)

Using the command word, Rain swiftly extended her magical pike to its full 20 foot length, and, from behind the half wall, pointed it down toward the open window on the floor below, ready to strike at the spider if it pushed its head out of the recess to look for her.

Readied attack against Goliath Spider - two handed mythic power attack with magical pike: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Damage, with lead blades, if hits: 2d6 + 15 ⇒ (1, 4) + 15 = 20

Move action: Fly up to floor above (on the edge of roof behind wall). Rain has a fly speed of 40ft.
Swift action: Extend pike to 20ft length.
Free action: Communicate via telepathic link to Neko.
Standard action: Readied pike attack on spider when/if it shows itself.
1 Mythic Point used to cast Lead Blades on Pike.

Rain's Active Status:
Animal Focus (currently tiger) 4 mins duration, Used 1 first level Ranger spell: Lead Blades - duration 5 mins, Used 1 Mythic Surge Point out of 5.

Rain:

As you wait for an imminent attack, you're able to see the spider move forward and thrust itself out of the hole of the tower which causes it to crash forward into the trees to the north.

Standard Action; rend its webs - Move Action; moves forty feet forward to crash into the treetops across from you.

As it moves past your space, you do get an AoO on it; but it will continue to move forward whether you hurt it or not...

Despite its massive weight and size, you notice that though the trees bend and sway under it - some of the branches creaking and snapping - the bulk of the elder trees are not sundered by its size, but their massive girth is somehow able to support the spider's bulk.

It turns and stares at you; it's eyes fixed on your location on the summit of the tower.

You cannot read its expression, but it doesn't matter. You feel only a sense of immeasurable rage pouring from it - yet it is layered with cool calculation, as if it is plotting something especially cruel...

You are aware of the sound of heavy crashing and thunder on the northern side of the tower, yet you do not know what it is.

Amen-set, Daeron and Christopher are using their turn to continue to double move around the northern part of the tower.

What do you the rest of you want to do on this round?

He immediately hurries through the open door wondering if this might be a quicker route.

Beginning of Round 2 -

I'm giving you guys the same Initiative as Rain. So you guys can all go at this time; then the enemy...

Variel:

As you rush up the stairs you manage to see the huge spider squeeze its massive, bloated body through the ancient window frame and then thrust itself out into the storm quickly and you hear it crash forward on to the trees far beyond it.

Your Move Action would have you at the top of the stairs and 10 feet from the stairs, with an additional 50 feet to the open window.

You see no sign of Rain at this time.

So via your action, I gave you your first Move Action to move up the stairs to this position. Of course, you have at least another Move Action or Standard Action you can use if you’d like to, not to mention whatever other powers you might like to activate. But I wanted you to see the room as it is now before you committed the rest of your actions. That said; what do you do?

Oh, also, make a Perception Check as a Free Action to see if you notice something else.

Jiro, you charge around the tower after the others!

With a Double Move it will take you at least two rounds to get to the north side, given that you were at the doorway not the trees, but that the tower has a 60 foot diameter and you’re on the south side.

Rajah, as you enter the tower you instantly see inside of the room is dimly lit by gray light from the doorway. There are no windows in this room. You can see that the ceiling is 20 off the ground, making the room feel much larger.

There are some bunks and other miscellaneous furniture scattered about, but you give no time to that, being more concerned with what looks like a stairway to your left.

At the base of the stairs are several large rocks, but they have been pushed and pulled aside enough so that a human could get on the stairs and move up them.

The stairway itself is made like a passage; it is not exposed to the room (as in; you see the bottom of the stairs through a doorway). The stairway is roughly the size of the doorway to the tower (it seems about ten feet in width) and the height from the base of the stairs to the ceiling above seems taller than other stairways you’ve seen; almost as if it was built for a very tall person.

Given you are already at the doorway when you advance, you’re free to use the rest of your Double Move to rush up the stairs and get to the top of the stairs this round; but given the room itself, you may decide to change your action; you don't have to, it's just an option, though.

Dhaavan, you can see everything in the room that Rajah has, will you come in with him - and if so, will you rush for the stairs, or search the room? Or will you try another option altogether?

Those who ascend the stairs:

Upon reaching the stairway you’re at once assaulted with a foul smell of rot. It reminds you of when a person takes a bandage or splint off a wound that has been on a wound for weeks and you’re able to smell the stench of dead skin, sweat, and other filth – only the smell is far worse.

As below, this room looks like it is roughly 20 feet from ceiling to floor.

The stairs go up again, but not far; the top of the stairs have been severely collapsed and heavy rocks clog the stairway if you attempt to go up to where another floor might be.

On the north side of the wall you see there are strands of thick, silvery cord swinging and blowing from the ceiling as the wind and rain sweeps in from what might have once been a huge window (you’d guess the window was roughly 18 feet in height; with about one foot of stone on the bottom of where the window was, and a foot of stone from the ceiling from where the window was).

There are piles of bodily refuse everywhere; as if an animal as defecated many times here without cleaning it out. There are other cords hanging from the ceiling and around them are silvery bundles dangling; as if someone took things and wrapped them with thick, heavy cord then hung them from the ceiling.

As you emerge into the room you see a humanoid with its back to you and a weapon drawn rushing toward the open window and the storm. You cannot recognize the humanoid in this light, but it looks somewhat familiar.

There is no sign of Rain.

What do you do?

Dain GM: Did Rain's readied attack hit the spider as it squeezed its enormous form out the window?

AoO on Goliah Spider: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Damage, if hits: 2d6 + 15 ⇒ (6, 3) + 15 = 24

As the Goliath Spider was squeezing its bulk through the window and was somewhat defenceless in the undertaking, Rain took the opportunity to strike at it with her positioned magical pike.

Alas, the strike went awry and she could not breach its skin to wound it.

Rain watched as it somehow pushed through the window and landed among the branches of the elder trees across the way. She remained, for now, behind the little wall barrier and sent another telepathic message to Neko,

//I'm on the broken roof, by the edge behind a wall. The spider jumped from window to the trees opposite me. Warn the others. I'm going translucent.// (Free action)

Neko sent an affirmative feeling through their link, //Will come to you.// and informed all those within 100 ft of her (as a Free action) (Amen-set, Christoper Ironhorse, Daereon, Jiro, Dhaavan by the front doors. Not sure if she can reach Rajah who's now moved through the doors and is inside the south section of the tower.) //Rain on roof. Spelled to be translucent. Spider in trees across from window.//

Placing the pike on the roof beside her, but still holding onto it, Rain began casting, laying her other hand on her leg. Within seconds her form began to waiver and become translucent and Rain faded into the background. (Spell Chameleon's Stride. Duration 4 mins, has concealment from creatures more than 5 feet away (attacks have a 20% miss chance).) Rain quietly/stealthily moved back 10ft, up the slightly slanted beam, pike still in hand, making room for Neko behind the small wall.

Concentration check - casting defensively (DC 17): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
(Auto succeeds casting in heavy wind, rain and sleet as DC is 6 and her mod is +11)
Rain's Stealth check plus bonus from animal focus and spell: 1d20 + 15 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 15 + 4 = 35
Acro check to keep her balance on roof beam in the rain, if it is necessary, with animal focus bonus included: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

Neko now knowing where her mistress was situated and the current danger Rain was in, visualised Rain's position on the summit of the tower and speaking the location began to teleport herself to Rain's side.

Variel, as you move into the room you can see that though there are some strands of webbing, most of them have been torn apart by the massive movement of the spider which had torn through its own webs.

You can move forward closer to the edge with no real difficulty, if you’d like.

As you move forward, you hear someone behind you.

Turning, you see Rajah standing there, peering at you in the very dim light…

"The Blue Rajah" wrote:

Rajah; the smells are very much like something you’ve not smelled before. At least, I had hoped to communicate that with the narrative; this den is not a mere animal lair – it’s something far darker, older and more evil than the usual stink you’ve encountered… well, HOPEFULLY it is, because it’s meant to be really, really foul…

Also, though you can’t make him out you’re right next to Variel – he can introduce himself via talking as a Free Action now. However; at this point I think you’ve finished your turn unless you’d like to use a Myth Point?

Rain, your weapon did not manage to strike the creature as it passed through the window, unfortunately. However, you are now in a much better defensive position on the roof and Neko is next to you, ready for action.

Not sure if you mean do you get a Readied Action to attack AND AoO? But at this point I’ll say “yes”, if you’d like to toss up another attack, you’re welcome to do so; it would have happened as he rushed under you to the trees.

That said; I’m ready to act, but unfortunately Dhaavan hasn’t made his actions for this round. I’ll give him a bit longer; but if he’s unable to post soon, is anyone willing to bot him?

Instead, it moves forward onto the ground and down and begins to charge around the the side of the tower. The spider has moved from the trees itself to forty feet around the base of the tower to the west side only to see Amen-set, Jiro, Christopher and Daeron rushing forward.

It elects to use it's poisoned web on the party -

The rule for it is a bit tricky; basically, the web is formally touching you, but your Reflex Roll means you’re not entangled by it, so theoretically you could use your move to dash out from the web as a Move Action, then use a Standard Action. Unfortunately, because the web touched you, you also endure the Poison which does Paralyze you for 1 round, and you lose –

1d6 ⇒ 6

EDIT: 6 Points - In strength damage. If it weren’t for the Paralysis you could just move out of the way. However, if you’re able to use a Myth Point to adjust your Fortitude Roll then toss it up and hopefully you’ll be okay.

Dhaavan wrote:

Dhaavan, I’m going to say you did that on last round, then. This round has you moving around the tower to see - This -.

Also, as you round the tower you see your friends are in a web, and they are 15 feet in front of you; they take up a 10x10 square.

The spider is 20 feet beyond that – so, 45 feet from your current position. Also, it doesn’t seem to notice you. You’re free to use your Move Action and Standard Action on the spider this Round.

Variel, Rajah

While you cannot see the spider you did hear gunshots outside the tower to your west and can only assume your friends are in trouble. You’re both twenty feet from the ground if you jump. If you do jump and round the corner, the back of the spider (on the ground) is only 10 feet from where you’d land (it’s a big spider).

Rain

As you’re on the summit of the tower, you can basically move your position to see the situation beneath you. You are free to move to the side of the tower (as well as Neko) and attempt to assail the spider on this turn. Your current position means you’d have to move 20 feet to the side of the tower overlooking the spider as part of your Move Action; plus you also have your Standard Action.

Also, behind the rubble on the roof/remaining floor of the tower, you have “Partial Cover” from ranged attacks.

Note on Spider

It’s completely filling the gap between the tower and the trees. You cannot run around the spider unless you go through the trees, and that will be difficult.

Make a Perception Check as Free Action DC 20:

The trees around the spider seem to be swaying somewhat; not from it’s bulk, and not from the wind – you think – but almost as if they branches are leaning in to the spider, as if they’re trying to grab or hit the spider.

Spider can't stare Rain down as she is technically transparent due to the Chameleon Stride spell she cast before Spider's turn.

Through their teleptahic link, Rain relays to Neko who cannot see her at present, //Moving 20 ft to the side of the tower. Follow.//

Rain moves around to the side of the tower (20 ft), using her Chameleon Stride spell to camouflage herself so she can draw a little closer to the spider now chasing her companions. She uses the rubble from the collapsed roof as partial cover.

She then swiftly switches her animal focus to that of the BULL (+2 to STR)

With extended 20ft magical pike, she viciously attacks the spider below,

2 handed Mythic Power Attack with lead blades: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Damage, if hits: 2d6 + 17 ⇒ (6, 2) + 17 = 25

Summary of Rain's actions:
Free action: Quick telepathic message to Neko.
Move action: 20 ft on the roof.
Swift action: Change animal focus to BULL (+2 to STR).
Standard action: Mythic Power Attack on spider with 20 ft pike.

Rain's Active Status:

Neko's Perception check of the trees and their antics (DC 20, Free action): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Neko, then heeding the message from the transparent Rain, moves to the side of the tower and stops near where she thinks Rain is currently.

She first sends out a telepathic message to her allies within 100 feet of her, //Trees leaning in toward spider and look like they're grabbing or swatting at it.//

The golden cat then begins to cast in the wind and rain; using the rubble of the collapsed roof as partial cover. Her concentration is keen and the spell is finalised. Lifting her paw toward the spider, she releases one, two, three missiles of magical energy at the enemy.

Concentration check - Casting Defensively (DC 17): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

Magic Missile 2 Force Damage on Goliath Spider: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Magic Missile 3 Force Damage on Goliath Spider: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Summary of Neko's Actions:
Move action: 20 ft to the side of Tower to stand somewhere near translucent Rain.
Free action: Telepathic communication to allies within 100ft of her.
Standard action: Cast Magic Missile and attacked spider.

Neko's Active Status:

Cool! So quick summary...

Jiro: I had made an earlier response to you last night just before I wrote Rajah; it looks like it got erased, unfortunately. So here's the gist of what happened -

The rules for the web are complicated, but basically I'm going to rule that if you want to use a Myth Point you only take 1/2 Strength Damage (for -3 instead of -6) and you're not paralyzed this round so you can take an action this round. You're still under the spiderweb, but your Reflex Save prevented you from being Entangled so you can run out of it.

Before you and to your left is Amen-set; Chris is directly in front of you and Daeron to your left (you're closest to the tower).

The spider is 20 feet wide and roughly 20 feet high - the space between the tower and the trees are 20 feet, so if it moves forward, it will be able to trample all of you where you're currently at. You can use your turn to teleport if you'd like to on this action (Rain is currently 60 feet above you and roughly 5 feet to your right).

Variel - after you cast the Fly spell you're able to use your Move Action and now you're outside the window coming around the spider. At the end of the move you're literally now 10 feet behind the spider, but you're also 20 feet off the ground, which means if you move forward you could attack the spider from above if you'd like on your next move (if the spider doesn't move).

Rajah: - given your starting location when you saw Variel, you now drank the potion; you moved forward to the window at you're at the wall of the opening of the window ready to act next turn.

Dhaavan: I ret-conned your running forward could have gone on the last round. This means I'm still going to give you time to take your action right now. Your Cloak of Shadows is still in effect; does that give you Stealth Bonuses too? If so, please let me know what they are.

Rain: Both you and Neko hit the spider! You both did damage and so the spider has lost quite a bit more health.

Note For Rain and Neko:

From your position up on the tower you notice that all of the trees surrounding the tower are swaying back and forth. This does not surprise you given the storm - but your long experience at sea instantly notes that the trees are not swaying with the wind itself. The branches are swaying, but it's almost like they're moving back and forth, trying to move, but unable to move because they're just trees...

So at this point if Dhaavan and Jiro want to formally act, they're able to make appropriate actions. Jiro - you can make a Standard Action (assuming you burned the Myth point you mentioned last time; also, if you burned that Myth point you'll only have to take the 3 Strength Damage instead of 6).

Dhaavan; you're able to take a Full Round action. Your friends are 15 feet in front of you. They take up a 10x10 foot square. The spider is 20 feet beyond that; so you're formally 45 feet from the spider, and you're currently hugging the wall to the tower.

I'll give you guys a bit longer for Jiro and Dhaavan to post actions.

With Rain, Neko, and Chris's attack; you've now done 80 Damage to this thing.

Dhaavan: Your Cerebi managed to miss most of its attacks, except the bite – it managed to bite the spider for a total of 9 damage for a total of 89 Damage.

The spider seems to glare the party with an almost savage rage.

Seeing the companions in front of them trying to escape, and the newly made Cerebi before it, it elects to rush forward and attempt to trample everyone in its path!

It goes far, it’s slavering bulk moving as far as it can, but not quite able to reach Dhaavan – yet…

Moves 40 Feet for it’s Full Round Action to Trample the Cerebi, Amen-set, Daeron and Chris.

All of them are free to attempt a Reflex Save against DC 32 to endure half Damage; if they survive, they can also try an AoO on it as it passes.

Trample Damage
4d8 + 22 ⇒ (7, 5, 2, 2) + 22 = 38

Reflex Save for Amen-set
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Reflex Save for Chris

Reflex Save for Daeron
1d20 + 3 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 1 + 4 = 23

Results of Trample –
Everyone has failed to save, but they are all up, though Amen-set and Daeron are still in the spider's web. Clearly the damage was bad and they do not look health. If the spider makes a return on them, they may not survive another pass.

Guys – it’s now your turn; those who survived the Trample get their AoO as well as their attack this round.

EDIT: The spider's poison needs to have 2 saves consecutively before it is fully resisted. Jiro - your save allowed you to be free of the paralysis last round and run for it, but you need to make one more save this time to be free.

Before Amen-set, Chris and Daeron use their AoO they need to make their Fortitude Saves vs DC of 23 or they're paralyzed again and take another 1d6 strength damage. This condition persists for a total of 6 rounds or until a poisoned person saves 2 times in a row.

Fortitude Save for Amen-set
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Reflex Save for Daeron
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

d6 Strength Damage
1d6 ⇒ 1

EDIT: Chris makes it and already avoided the entanglement of the spell. Daeron and Amen-set failed - they're paralyzed again and have now taken a total of 7 Strength Damage Each.

Chris is now able to attack the spider with his flintlock as it passes...

Attack with Flintlock 1
1d20 + 15 - 3 ⇒ (9) + 15 - 3 = 21

If it hits -
1d8 + 6 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 13
1d6 ⇒ 6

For his Standard Action he uses his other pistol to fire -

Attack with Flintlock 2

If it hits -
1d8 + 6 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 11
1d6 ⇒ 4

Both shots hit a Touch Attack - the spider has now suffered 123 Damage.

Daavan: Your Cerebi lost HP, but it gets an AoO and can move. The rest of you can take your actions now...

Jiro: You're hidden in the trees, but I still need your next Fortitude Save. If you make it, you don't suffer any effects until next round...

No worries - post when you can later tonight; but that took 20 feet and your move speed with FLY is 60 feet; so you have another 40 feet to go - the spider is 35 feet in front of your present position.

If you want to fly down and pick up your sword as part of your Move Action and then move to attack, you'll be 5 feet off the ground on this round, but I'll also need a Fly Check to move in the weather.

Cool! When you get a chance to post later, we'll see what happens. Good luck!

Hey guys - this combat seems to be taking too long. It's been five days and we haven't finished 5 rounds, not to mention 3; that said, I'm going to Bot Dhaavan's Cerebi and see if we can move things forward.

With that in mind, please know that The Spider does have Max HP for those who are keeping score, so it shouldn't last long, but we'll see how much Dhaavan can do - but unless it can manage to see the web first, then dodge the web to avoid entanglement, and then avoid the poison on the ground which it will come in contact with automatically, and do at least 36 damage it probably won't be enough to kill it; but we'll see...

CEREBI’S BITE AoO
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

If it hits –
1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

The Cerebi then moves around to try to bite the spider from behind but is forced to run over the poisoned web –

Via Universal Rules it must make a Perception Check to see the web before advancing against a DC 20

Perception Check
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23

It sees the web but cannot do nothing as it's compelled to obey's Dhaavan's command to attack the spider, so it will try to avoid it as it runs through it -

Reflex Save to Avoid the Web
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

It succeeds at avoid being entangled and is able to move forward and bite the spider but it must first make a Fortitude Save to make sure it's not effected by the poison -

Fortitude Save
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

The Cerebi is not poisoned, so it bites the spider three times -

CEREBI’S BITE 1
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26

If it hits –
1d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

CEREBI’S BITE 2
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29

If it hits –
1d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

CEREBI’S BITE 3
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28

If it hits –
1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

EDIT: The Cerebi decides it will try to rend the spider as it hits three times -

Rend Attack
1d6 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Total Damage: 50 more damage, for a total of 210 Damage.

EDIT:

The Cerebi thrusts its heavy jaws into the spider, tearing at the fleshy body from the rear - its fiery teeth slashing through major arteries and clamping down on nerve clusters. As every mouth clamps down on a major area, the jaws squeeze down harder and rip and shred through the body until the creature's organs go spilling out behind it into the ground and emitting a foul stench as the light dies from its eyes and the corpse falls down before Dhaavan's eyes.

Dhaavan looks up at the others and smiles devilishly -

"And that's how you take care of things," he says with a wink at the lifeless eyes.

Then, realizing he can't see his friends behind the corpse, he calls out in a loud voice to try to make sure it can be heard over the rain and storm -

"Hello? Is everyone alright?"

Amen-set and Daeron and Jiro need to make 3 more saves against the Strength Penalty of the Poison against a 23

Each failure means they'll pick up a new loss of Strength Damage

Amen-set, Daeron have lost 7 in Strength Damage; Jiro you have lost 4 in Strength Damage.

Here are the rolls to save -

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

1d6 ⇒ 5

1d6 ⇒ 6

1d6 ⇒ 4

Well crap; Amen-set and Daeron have both lost their Strength to 0. When they do that; that means they're formally prone/unconscious until they regain their strength. They recover 1 point of Temporary ability loss per day. It is unlikely either of them will be able to proceed this night.

Jiro; I need your saves, too - if you make it, cool. If not, you'll need to heal with them.
