***Effect in Place - +1 to attacks and weapon damage***

The female cultist keeps moving, trying to avoid the smashing fists of Orovan. She cuts loose with another Magic Missile aimed at her wizard counterpart, Ruinor. The force bolt smashes into him for 6 damage, leaving him injured and reeling.

Magic Missile, evoker bonus: 1d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6

Silverback, Max, Orovan, and Ruinor (who I have at 1 hp) are now up against the pair of cultists.

Ambush - Round 3 - continued

Silverback leaps at the halfling slicer, but his attack is easily dodged. The dinosaur pet leaps into the fray with his master, and while the rogue dodges to off his attacks also, the third rakes across his front side, leaving a large wound.

Maximilian keeps his song active while he rushes across the room, cutting off the fleeing evoker. His thrusts at his target with his rapier, but the shielding spell keeps the caster safe.

Orovan also rushes across the floor, ending up next to the caster but is unable to attack.

Ruinor sends a jet of flame at the caster who nimbly dodges most of the blast, receiving only a singe instead of a full out burn.

The halfling cultist sidesteps and stabs at Willem with his rapier, trying to cut his way out of the corner he's trapped in. His first attack is off-center, mostly due to his own wounds.

Ambush - Round 4 - concluded

Silverback and his pet dinosaur hustle across the marble floor of the shrine to close in on the last cultist.

After avoiding her feeble stab with a dagger, Orovan rushes into the girl, throwing a heavy punch which downs the caster in a heap ending the fight.

End of Combat

After surviving the ambush the Pathfinders are able to leave the Shrine of the Failed just as the caretakers are returning to the Shrine after watching the failed attempt of Sir Reinhart to vault the chasm on horseback, which ended with a a fall into oblivion.

The group is able to bring the cache of information back to the Grand Lodge. Drendle Dreng is there to thank you personally, indicating his interest in your careers as Pathfinders. He assures you that you will have a future mission, and soon.

Several days later, as you are recuperating from the fight, you receive the following missive:"Pathfinder -- Your recent investigations and recovery of Eylysia's papers have already yielded results. Under my direction, a team of scholars has tracked down the long-retired Society ciphers the gnome used and translated many of her entries. Although many of these records present valuable leads, one is especially timely and exciting."

"Several months ago, the Pathfinder Society recovered an incomplete relic called the Sky Key. Its missing components disappeared millenia ago, carried by dwarven refugees to the far corners of Avistan and beyond, and the Society has struggled to follow these faint trails to piece the potent device back together. It appears Eylysia may have found one fo the pieces centuries ago! She writes of a visit to Tar Kuata in Osirion, where she is not only met with the Iroran devotees there, but also the curious order of Dwarven monks known as the Ouat. According to her journals, some of the resident dwarves' ancestors arrived long ago from the distant north, bearing a broken treasure of wire and steel. Based on additional context and several magical divinations, I have reason to believe Eylysia -- and you-- may have found one of the lost pieces of the Sky Key!"

"I have contacted Venture-Captain Norden Balentiir in Sothis to prepare for an expedtion. You have already demonstrated your resourefulness by uncovering this information; when I assemble a team to travel to Tar Kuate, I hope you will consider joining the expedition."

"Highest regards, Venture Captian Ambrus Valsin

ON that note, the adventure ends! Most of you should be able to level up to 2. I guess we can discuss next game choice in Discussion. I will be preparing Chronicle Sheets and trying to disseminate soon.
