Crux levels his webbing wand and discharges a bolt at the derro. Not ultra-quick the derro is just able to avoid the sticky strands that cover the table he was working on.

Marnos fares a bit better, his arrow scoring a direct hit against the dodging derro.

Kalvin draws his holy blade and moves to attack.

Stirge 1 leaves teh wicker cabinet, and not yet sated with blood moves to the nearest target which is Kalvin. The stirge cannot drive its bloodsucking beak through the knight's armor and he remains safe for now.

Derro Reflex DC 11: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Tina chucks an alchemist's fire into the room, smashing it right onto the second strige, which erupts in a screaming ball of flame, and then drops to the floor a smoking ruin.

Since that attack took out Stirge 2, Travigan is up.

Travigan moves past Tina and points the head of his heavy mallet at the derro, anger simmering in his eyes. "I'll give ye a choice, ya twisted slug. Ye can lay down and give up now or I can turn that lumpy head o' yours into a puddle for these stirges here to slurp up. Yer choice."

Travigan leaps to the fore and shouts at the derro, who stares fumbles around clearly nervous about the coming fight.

Derro, clearly surprised and scared by the onrush of foes casts Daze at Travigan and then high-tails it out the door of the chamber, and into the hallway that used to hold the necrophidius.

The derro is shaken for 2 rounds. Travigan needs a DC 13 Will save or be dazed for Round 2.

Kalvin swings again at the pesky stirge buzzing about his head, wiping the insectile blood-sucker from the combat.

Crux and Marnos are up for the good guys as the derro makes a break for it.

Marnos, can you see the map? I don't see you can move and get a LOS on the derro. If you can find a spot, i'll take your shot, but I'm not seeing it.

Exsanguination Chamber - Round 2 - continued

Crux is able to blast the fleeing derro with a magic missile, but the magical bolt of force fizzles on contact with the derro, having no effect.

Marnos, who can't a clear line of sight, double moves into the strange chamber, trying to line up his next shot.

SR check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

With the stirges out of the fight, Tina and Travigan can now act in pursuit of the fleeing derro.

Travigan starts to put up chase, but as Marnos and Tina both take off he shakes his head and comes to a stop after a few feet. "Slippery little mudsuckin' bugger." He then smashes his hammer into the body of the nearest downed stirge, ensuring it's well and truly dead.

Tina pursues the derro, skirting the table, and starting up the stairs on his heels.

Travigan, knowing he's not the most fleet of foot, turns and pulverizes the stirges, making jelly from their inert bodies.

The derro turns the corner, heading north through the hallway of bones, then he stops and readies an action.

Trying not to allow the derro to escape, Kalvin, after finishing the stirges, rushes forward as fast as his heavily armored form will take him, ending up just at the top of the stairs into the next room.

The entire rest of the party is up against the derro, who has a readied action prepared.

Unaware that the derro has stopped, Travigan sees little sense in putting up chase as slow as he is. Instead, he stomps over to the remaining stirge and, with a loud crash of his hammer, ensures it won't be bothering anyone else again either.

Exsanguination Chamber - Round 3 - concluded

Travigan continues stomping stirges, and when asked, says he can't catch the derro at any rate.

Satisfied that the blacksmith isn't coming, Marnos jumps into the queue chasing the derro, stopping behind Tina as they crowd up the stairs.

The derro, seeing no one coming around the corner this round, turns opening a secret door in the north wall.

Kalvin rounds the corner, and sees the rapidly disappearing derro through teh secret panel, which starts to slide closed, before the paladin rams his shield into the gap, holding it open.

All the party may now act, the secret door is open, with Kalvin standing a bit in the way, but not completely.

Grumbling loudly to himself, "Cut him off? Fer cryin' out loud, I'm an old man; not some spry young lad fit fer dashin' through blighted tunnels! Cut 'im off. Pfah!" Travigan begins to make his way back toward the chamber they'd encountered the bone snakes within, hurrying as best he might through the complex.

Taking out the scroll is a move action, and reading it is a standard action, so you won't be able to start the faster movement until next turn.


Exsanguination Chamber - Round 4 - continued

Crux scrounges for the right scroll, and then casts a spell that quickens his foot speed. He will move much faster in the next round.

Tina follows the brave paladin in hot pursuit of the fleeing derro. She also calls out to Travigan to try to cut the creature off in the ossuary.

Following Tina's directions, Travigan moves north into the ossuary, where skeletons attacked the group once before.

Pending an action from Marnos and then we can move to next round.

Marnos is able to screech around the corner, and get one snap shot off with his bow, however, with the narrow window and the movement of his allies, the shot misses.

The Derro continues to flee at his top speed.

Kalvin continues his pursuit, but his heavy armor means he gets no closer to the fleeing derro.

Rest of the party is up against the runaway enemy. Crux is hurried by 30' per move action due to the Expeditious Retreat cast on himself last round.

Is Travigan in the chamber we fought the necrophidiuses in? I thought it was called the Skull Corridor or some such, not the Ossuary? If he's not yet where we fought those critters, he'll continue to hustle toward that room. If he is there (and I'm just not recognizing the map at all), he'll ready a daze for when the derro appears.

So here's the deal. The necrophidius, the bone snakes, where in the chamber every one else is in (the long skinny hallway). When Tina called to you, I assumed she meant the room where the rest of the bones were, since she was already in the snake room herself. If I am wrong, then we can move Travigan's positioning. Problem is, the derro isn't headed for either of those places...

Tina rushes after Kalvin and the derro, but she is passed up by the magically enhanced Crux, who gets within reach of the derro in a double move, only to see the fellow go up the stairs, over the hallway, and back down the other side.

Travigan readies a daze in case the derro appears in the ossuary room where he waits.

Still waiting for a Round 5 action from Marnos, but I am guessing he is double moving to keep up the chase since no LOS is available even before the derro moves.

Seeing his one shot miss wide, Marnos rushes ahead following the others in hot pursuit of the derro. Even with his quick strides, he cannot get to a place where he has clear line of sight to take another shot.

The stairs obviously lead over the regular hall and I am adding a square for the passage in the middle.

Keeping on the heels of the derro, Kalvin follows, but can't get close enough for a melee attack just yet.

Rest of the group is up, Crux will be able to get near him again so perhaps some form of standard action (web bolt?) is in order?

Crux fires another web bolt from his wand, but the magical humanoid runs right through the spell area, unaffected.

Tina also gives chase at top speed, trying to redirect Travigan at the same time.

I show 3 charges left on the Web Bolt wand.
