I doubt the AP is nearly as deadly as DM is making it, but he's great at adjusting difficulty in PF.

Additionally, it's less deadly than it feels deadly, which is far far more important.

Loving the game so far, although I didn't envisage Mrakala gazing at the mirror in the other room. However, I now wish I had written something up about him looking into it and tracing wrinkles on his face when you had him roll the will save! It would have tied it together better as a follow-up.

As a random: Has anyone here GMed an Apocalypse World game or a similar Powered by the Apocalypse game?

I'm running Blades in the Dark atm (which is very loosely based on AW) and its...so different. The game strongly discourages having set events or end-goals like one of my typical PF games would have and instead has you simply asking a billion questions.

It takes some getting used to. I started out strong and felt that I was petering a bit from lack of inspiration, but the GM section of the book is amazing at pointing out ways to create player opportunity. It very much tries to teach an improvisation style of DMing which is not how I've run D&D (any edition) or Spellbound Kingdom games before. I feel that it'll improve my GMing long-term though, which is kind of cool.

It's also fun asking players what they think should happen when I'm not sure. The collaborative aspect of it is unique to me, coming from a strong traditional D&D background.

If two mirrors were facing each other, would that make the thing happening praise itself? Or maybe four mirrors? Do that thing that Who did with the Weeping Angels.

Or that could spawn an near-infinite number of malevolent whatever-they-ares.

Or maybe there's only one of them looking through all the mirrors.

I would recommend against trying to oppose two mirrors.

Kyleen is trying to reflect on your various ideas. Of course, she is less then enthusiastic about the idea that involves her getting killed.

Expensive, but these are relevant to our present situation.

I have a set of metal dice definitely table scratchers and too expensive.

Curious Judge Kyleen, are you going Spiritualist or keeping Bard?

Spiritualist is an interesting class I have never read. The big negative is that Kyleen has 10 wisdom, thus she can only cast cantrips. I can easily take Wisdom at level 4/8/12, etc. If she got a Headband of Wisdom, then she would be able to cast most of the spells.

Bard is obviously, bard. A cool class, but one I have played before.

I still need to build the phantom. Also, because the phantom is tied to the asylum, I do not know whether the doctor will ditch me/us if/when we leave the place.

I thought Spiritualist was Cha class, besides Mesmerist what are the Occult Classes with Charisma the Primerequesit?

Only the Mesmerist I think. Was looking at that as I have a boon from PFS for a Dhampir. Was researching interesting classes, and only the Mesmerist seemed to fit the bill. Still have not figured that class out though.

I would say if there is wood we can have a makeshift stretcher, pile all three bodies on it and have two of us drag the bodies, while the rest keep watch.

Is anyone else having trouble with the "new posts" showing up? Suddenly yesterday, it stopped for all my campaigns.

DMDM, one thing that has fixed similar problems in the past is for the GM to manually change the player to inactive, and the switch the player back to active. Mind you, this was several years ago that I last had this issue.

I'm having it too. Was startled to see no new posts, then checked to be sure...

We had this issue a few years ago, and it went away by itself after a few days. Don't think I can switch myself to inactive?

Yes, it seems to be pretty widespread affecting just about everyone.
