Round 3 complete___________________

Kelden shouted "Its casting something Alorah!"
He implanted his shield into the ghoul beside him, ignoring it as he concentrated holding aloft his holy symbol. Once more a beam of terribly bright light lanced out of it towards Ghoul Cleric blue chanting and casting something in the corner.
The ghoul shrieked as the scroll he was casting from went up in flames.

Carilain shouted "It's a summoning! Don't let him complete it!"
Carilain steps up to put the near ghoul between himself and Kelden, then takes a vertical, two-handed slash at the filthy undead.
Grimstar seemed to take viscious pleasure as it split the ghoul like a log.

Alorah, heeding her companions' warning, silently thanks her magical force armor as it deflects the blow of the summoned glaive. As the summoned archon moves to support Arthas, firing a pair of rays at the demon (missing one but hitting the other), she moves to where Carilan provides her cover as she shoots at the spell caster again. "On it!"
Her shot hits the ghoul cleric again, injuring him critically.
.
Arthas is using his divine bond to grant his sword Demon Bane.
”Thanks for waddling yourself over here so I can make you my b!!~#!”
Arthas comes out swinging with his bastard sword using his Sudden Strike ability as a swift action to lead his full attack!
His sudden strike smite landed squarely, the silver fire flashing as it tore into the demon. It seemed to you that the black fire roiling over his body protected him somewhat.
He missed with one then struck home again with another, doing terrific damage. Again It seemed to you that the black fire roiling over his body protected him somewhat from your silver fire.
.
Kyra continues to dodge around the feeble attempts of the ghoul to strike her as she spins and slices her relic blade into the ghoul once more!
She cut the ghoul down in a welter of blood, moved two squares to her left, then Fleet Charged the demon.
She crashed into the demon like a buzzsaw, critically wounding its left leg.
The demon screamed and turned to Kyra.
.

Ghoul cleric green cast a cure spell on Nulkineth, healing him for 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (1, 7) + 3 = 11.
.
Ghoul cleric blue waived at the Spiritual weapon, which then attacked Kelden from behind.

Regular attack’s

@DM. It looks like I should have done more damage last round i biffed the math I think.

Spoiler:
If the target of smite evil is an outsider with the evil subtype, an evil-aligned dragon, or an undead creature, the bonus to damage on the first successful attack increases to 2 points of damage per level the paladin possesses. Regardless of the target, smite evil attacks automatically bypass any DR the creature might possess.

In addition, while smite evil is in effect, the paladin gains a deflection bonus equal to her Charisma modifier (if any) to her AC against attacks made by the target of the smite. If the paladin targets a creature that is not evil, the smite is wasted with no effect.

The smite evil effect remains until the target of the smite is dead or the next time the paladin rests and regains her uses of this ability. At 4th level, and at every three levels thereafter, the paladin may smite evil one additional time per day, as indicated on Table: Paladin, to a maximum of seven times per day at 19th level.

Fearing that large Demon is going to escape with Radience, Arthas drives forward trusting his faith to carry him through to the sword!
”Lord, wrap me in your wings!”
Lunging forward, Arthas reached out and touched the field surrounding Radiance. The field that stopped his hand was… filthy. It felt like a greasy nausea inducing… wrongness that made his skin crawl, and made him want to flee. But his sheer force of will made him press forward!
And… the field bent before him. As he pressed harder and harder, his hand pressed through it! The field pressed against his body now, but with some kind of aid unknowable, step by step, Arthas pressed forward…
Until with a snap, he was through! And there before him, suspended in the middle of the repulsion field, was the legendary sword Radiance. It seemed to gleam at your approach…
As you touch its hilt, it flashed, and a blinding pulse filled the ancient chapel!
The field of repulsion and the field of darkness were ripped away. Ghoul Cleric Blue was blown into dust and Ghoul Cleric Green burned like a torch, but survived. The only think that saved Nulkineth’s sight was that he was turned away at that moment.

Arthas:
Cue Arthas’ transformation scene.

.
Kyra lunged forward and cut down the last Ghoul Cleric, which also took down the spiritual weapon threatening Alorah as well.
.
Roaring in rage and frustration, Nulkineth flew up in a surge of wings over Carilain, Kelden and Alorah, to land at the entranceway, preparing to disappear into the howling winds outside.
Arthas and Alorah have an AoO.

.
This battle is over.

Taking a moment to breathe, you see that Nulkineths body does not evaporate. You realize that he was a half human/half Nabassu.
.
When you go through the bodies, you find on Nulkineth:
-His weapon, a Battle Aspergillium +1 A light mace with a hollow head and tiny holes throughout, filled currently with unholy water.
-Unholy water bottles x3.
-Breastplate +1
-Shield, heavy steel
-Holy symbol of Kabiri
-Vial of powdered silver (250 crowns worth).
-Ornate black iron Key

The two Ghoul Clerics each had:
-Studded Leather Armor +1
-Flail
-Holy symbol of Kabiri
-92 crowns money

The ghouls had no material wealth, and look to be civilians of long standing, almost skeletonized, sprinkled with a couple fresh crusader types.

Arthas:
You feels a strong empathic compulsion from Radiance to spend a bit of time cleaning the chapel. The filth on the walls and art, the gouges defacing the holy symbols, the Desecration curse on the chapel itself; it desires that those should be dealt with.

"While I tend to your wounds my fellows I dont suppose we could clean this place up a little. It seems we spend so much time cleaning up the filth of fallen temples and holy sites but it doesnt feel right leaving it be."

He said pulling out a magical wand to aid him in healing his friend.

My wand has... six charges left. Use em up guys and let me know what healing you need I still have plenty of level 1 spells availible :)

Arthas takes a knee and bows his head in prayer.

”We did it Chaplain. . . I do not know why I was chosen. I pray that I can honor all my brothers, the Captain and your example and memory. Ragathiel, help me prove myself worthy.”

He stands up.

”Yes! We must cleanse this place and perhaps then we can find out what this key goes to.”

He pokes the dead crossbreed with his toe.

”Heaven would accept you even in this form, but you chose eternal pain, slavery and damnation for but a bit of fleeting earthly power. Enjoy your punishment in Hell miscreant.”

Arthas begins stripping the carcass and will dump his enemies bodies outside of the church and cast out all foul refuse.

Kyra lets out a heavy sigh of relief as the demon falls to their blades. She waves any any further healing, allowing any others a chance to close their remaining wounds. "You already saved me on the battlefield, brother." She smiles and puts her hand upon his shoulder, letting it linger there for a few moments as she looks in his eyes. She grabs him into a tight hug and holds him close for a few moments, whispering into his ear. "Sometimes it seems like a dream... you being here I mean. After that minotaur, I thought you were gone forever." She kisses him on the cheek and steps back, blushing as she turns away.

She cleans the gore from Dancing Phoenix as she wanders over to assist Alorah in utilizing her own magic to clean the disgusting filth from this holy place.

When you take some time to sweep through the rest of the complex you find:

The Dining Hall:

Three stone tables stand in this room, and their wooden benches lie broken and half-rotten around them.
Leather straps with restraints stretch across their surface, buckled tightly in place.
Nearby, a knotted rope descends through a tiny hole in the ceiling.

Know:Engineering DC12 or Int DC15:

Before the fall of Drezen, the priests took meals here, and the rope was used to ring the temple bell and summon acolytes to dinner.
Now, it is purely an interrogation chamber, strapping prisoners to the
stone tables so they can torture information out of them.

The Kitchen:

The ripe stench of decay chokes the air of this room, emanating from the bodies of two deceased soldiers hanging from the rafters.
Various cabinets and tables stand around a fireplace in the south wall, and doors lead east, west, and north.

Know:Engineering DC12 or Int DC15:

This room once served as a kitchen for the priests.
The ashes in the fireplace are decades old, little more than fine soot.
Nulkineth and his ghoulish minions use it to hang the corpses they cull from battlefields. His current larder contains two tiefling soldiers who perished during earlier battles at Keeper’s Canyon.

Nulkineth’s Quarters:

The broken frames of several beds lie scattered about this large room. Two of the more serviceable ones have been pushed together to make a larger sleeping pallet. A table and several chairs also occupy the center of the room.
Nulkineth keeps several trophies and treasures in a strongbox:
*383 cp, 710 sp, 3,827 crowns,
*a beryl worth 500 gp,
*three opals worth 100 gp each,
*a gold holy symbol of Sarenrae worth 200 gp,
*a knight’s pennon (UE) (battle),
*a +1 chain shirt,
*a +1 returning dagger.

Know:Engineering DC12 or Int DC15:

This room once housed the temple’s acolytes. Now, Nulkineth uses it as his bedroom.

The Meditation Hall:

The stained-glass windows lining the ceiling of this quiet chamber have all been shattered, leaving colorful broken glass scattered across the stone floor.

Know:Engineering DC12 or Int DC15:

The priests often used this hall for quiet contemplation.
A permanent silence effect blankets the room to aid such meditation. Nulkineth uses this room to house more unruly prisoners, or those he suspects are spellcasters.

The High Priest’s Quarters:

This mostly barren room has two sets of shackles anchored within a nook along the eastern wall.

Know:Engineering DC12 or Int DC15:

This room once served as the living quarters for the chapel’s high priest. More secure than the rest of the shrine, Nulkineth has turned it into a prison for captives.

"What an interesting puzzle; I am not very good with puzzles though. Perhaps one of you may have better luck? In the meantime, perhaps we could dispose of the demon filth and provide proper burials to the Crusaders here."

Her eyes light up when she spots the golden holy symbol and the golden wetness begins to gather in the corners. "Look, Kelden! Even here The Dawnflower is present; nothing can keep her from shining through. Please, take this and keep it with you. You are her chosen after all." She grins.

In the kitchen the ripe stench of decay chokes the air of this room, emanating from the bodies of two deceased soldiers hanging from the rafters.

Stepping down into the depths of the stone foundations, you come to a door to what was once a wine cellar, now repurposed to holding racks upon racks of potion bottles! The walls are lined with lead sheeting; probably to prevent the magical aura of the potions from shining
through.
Taking the time to check it all out, you find that, in all, there are more than nine hundred of what you determine to be cure light wounds potions, glowing softly in old fashioned six ounce glass bottles.
If you choose to, there are enough stored in here to outfit your whole army, granting them the healing potions resource (Ultimate Campaign 241).
There are enough potions here to allow the army 3 uses of the resource before it is depleted.

He followed the others down and could only blink in awe at the sight.

"Its a good thing that ...that thing upstairs never discovered this place. The army could certainly use it. We should get word to them to send soldiers up here, both to guard them while we gather them and to help with the transportation. "

He began nodding at Caralain's words.
