Found a Q&A on the ask JJ thread that helped me to understand Moonlight Bridge a little better.
A bridge going up isn't a bridge... it's a wall.And the power isn't called "moonlight wall."
Sorry if that sounds snarky... but it's important to keep in mind the flavor and intention of a power when you start looking for "creative" methods of using it in ways it wasn't intended to be used.
Moonlight Bridge is a power that lets you cross over things that are perilous or hard to move through. "Any direction" means that you can attach any two points within range. The use of words like "path" further enforces the fact that it has to be mostly horizontal that you can easily walk on.
I also realised that it only counts as a wall of force when attacked, so can't easily be used for battlefield control. That said, it works very nicely here for the purpose your wanting to use it!
Essentially, it goes from solid surface to solid surface, spanning from your feet until the point you build it to.
And heres another post that helped me to get my head round it-
It is a bridge that spans. It must connect from the oracle's feet to the opposite side of what ever it is that the bridge is being erected to facilitate crossing. It is not a wall. It is not a cloverleaf highway. It does not discriminate about those crossing until such time as the Oracle erecting it crosses over it, ending that bridge. There is no limit other than actions and the Oracle's Charisma bonus as to how many bridges may be so erected at one time.
Each individual bridge must complete a span (solid surface to solid surface). This might be something as straightforward as crossing a series of stone columns sticking out of a (very deep and large) pit that you want to get to the other side of. Granted, that's a pretty big bridge in its own right (unless you're very low level).
Moonlight Bridge is a VERY handy way to bypass pit traps, moats, annoying series of balance/acrobatics checks embodied in the form of various chambers/rooms filled with nasty stuff in the bottom (just bridge on over and walk!) and to provide yourselves a way out (as long as the Oracle can bring up the rear at speed with the rest of the party leading the way) of pit-laden hell holes. Not to provide cheese-sourced walls of force and other face-palm inducing moments.
It seems clear that the intent is not to have some muttonhead trying to cross the Grand Canyon by multiple successive uses of this ability.
Which, by the way, is not even possible except at the narrowest points of the aforementioned Canyon. Maybe. At the widest point the Grand Canyon is about 18 miles across. A 20th level Heavens Oracle - IF there were conveniently placed columns of solid stone every 200 feet - would require a Charisma bonus of 27 to cover a full mile in this fashion, and does so in a straight line.
Thought it was worth posting how I came to clarity about it, as on my initial reading I honestly thought it was early access wall of force...

Yeah, I did consider the possibility of the 'bridge' being used as a 10' wide, 70' high wall of force by starting at Fenna's feet and heading straight up. But the idea of using it as a 10' high, 70' long wall by somehow twisting it by 90 degrees is just absurd.

BAM! 70 damage crit on great cleave. Level 5 Barbarian with two negative levels for the win. I suppose Kundai is grateful negative level's don't apply penalties to damage (although he is certainly feeling the lack of HP...)
Shame his AC is now 11 while also being prone though, for effective AC7...
I was also highly amused and pleased to see Ricter make his soft fall check, despite a -5 armor check penalty. That reminds me, didn't roll Kundal's falling damage- 1d6 ⇒ 3.

That's a lot of boulders to put together for a simple trap...40' x 45'wide x 25' tall...
Truthfully, the dimensions weren't of particular note to me when I was drawing the map; i've been stupidly busy of late and it took me long enough as it is. It shouldn't be nearly so wide but I stand by the height :).

I'll be out of contact until the very end of July, due to a trip to Kiev followed by days spent packing up the flat i'm living in here in Ukraine followed by a 3 day bus journey back. Its easier to just declare my absence now rather than try and keep up with things during this busy time. Roll on August!
Consider this game on hiatus until 1st of August, although I would like to know if Casimir's going to try and get Kip inside the estate somehow.
Oh and Ricter? Thats another called demon slain with that roll. Fenna, you have lots of time to plan your action at least.

Roger that, Alex. I'll work things out with Kip.
Be advised that my MSN account has been locked for security reasons, and since I no longer have access to the e-mail used to create it, it may take a while to get it unlocked and I may be forced to create a new one in the end. So PM, e-mail, facebook or google chat is the way to go if anyone wants to get hold of me.

Home tomorrow... Game on! :)

Don't be offended if the add takes me a while. In fact, by the time I have internet access sufficient to make MSN work (my grandma is with BT and its awful- 0.24mbps downspeed...) I'll have to dig around for your e-mail. Add me- alexkilcoyne@hotmail.com
Done.

Hey Jacob, you still with us?
Sorry for slowness on my part. A trip to my mother in weymouth has proven to be far busier than I anticipated.
Sorry for the delay - had a busy weekend preparing for our son's birthdayparty. Post is up in main thread.

I am back... no more trips planned for the foreseeable future... work will be busy for the next few weeks but should not impact my posting in any major way.
By the by, what happened to Tanner's cameo trip to Varnland? Is that still in the works?

By the way, something I found out yesterday that might save you as much OOC tags as I always end up using. Also, a neat way to get green text.
You can give your DICE tags a name, like making named spoilers. For example, lets imagine the Tarrasque tried to bite Malthir the paladin.
Tarrasque Bite (Hit): 1d20 + 37 ⇒ (4) + 37 = 41
4d8 + 15 ⇒ (1, 1, 7, 8) + 15 = 32
| Joana |
I've heard some DMs complain about the way using the dice tags in that way make the text look when replied/quoted. Let's see.
[dice=Knowledge (paizo forum)]1d20+34
vs.
He then heals any wounds he has with his powers Lay on Hands 3d6+2
Meh, can't see that it makes that much difference. I guess they don't like the dice tag showing up when quoted.

I am as well!
Hope he keeps his head! ;)
| Malthir Al Dagon |
Alex, do you have a problem with a letter scribed by Malthir's hand for Casimir to deliver to the council for the end of the meeting if things went well?
It is more of a fluff letter and will not reference anything stated in the thread...I am not sure why I didn't think of it earlier, it would have been something that Malthir would have done but am fine if you are not comfortable with the retcon...

Very nicely done Jacob!

"My lords. Why exactly did you append the regent's name and authority to the charter when you knew it was a complete and utter fabrication."
... runs....
That would be... MAD... but... minus the mutually part. :P
Kardas seems woefully disadvantaged in the whole armies rampaging hither and yon on our doorstep thing. :)

I believe that Alex is pretty busy with work...not sure what Cas' excuse is :]
Lazy, uninspired, indifferent...take your pick. :-)

Just kidding, as always RL conspires to keep me from my PbP fun. Update coming.
