The game is awesome and atmospheric--great GM'ing and characters, y'all. However, yes, it is just a wee bit accelerated. Too much botting, and players will start to feel distanced from the game. A round a day or half day sounds good to me. If there is availability for more, cool.

It moves faster than most PbP I've had experience with; normally that is not a bad thing, but I concierge a hotel in Omaha, NE, and June is our busiest month between the Olympic Swim Trials, the High School State Track Meet, and the College World Series, so my hours are nearly doubled and I have less access to a computer as I do more running around- I have a Kindle Fire for posting on the go, but it takes ages to type out a post on a touch pad (especially one with coding in it). I can keep caught up on reading just fine and can pretty easily keep at 1 post per 12 hours or so, but my responses will likely need to make libral use of Flex Time for the next 2 weeks until all dies down in July.

Good feedback thus far, and I'm hoping we can hear from everyone, since this will affect everyone.
Corneleous, yeah I figured that was how you were rounding it, and I didn't find info either way in the PRD, so rounding up sounds reasonable to me.
Actually, the rules in general terms state to round down unless specified; the conjurer specifies min of 1 round extra, so we're right but for the wrong reason.

Yowzah. Thirty posts in 6 hours.
I'm actually on my uni break for the next several weeks so I SHOULD be able to keep pace. However, I suspect my time zone is getting in the way of things somewhat, what with me coming from the land down under (i.e. GMT+10)
The majority of posts seem to happen while I'm asleep (which I've been doing remarkably less of, lately). Where else is everyone located? That should give us an idea of when everyone can post.

Ringtail |

Might have missed this, but how are we handling leveling; were we eschewing experience points and just leveling when appropriate or awarding experience points at the end of chapters? For a standard group of 4-5, it probably wouldn't matter and would come out the same either way, but our group is a bit larger than most.

Twigs |

Haha, great finish!
It seems you folks are relatively close. I don't think my location should be a problem. It hasn't been in the past. I've gamed with Americans and Australian's alike, and even an ESL Teacher in China, and I've always been able to keep pace (save for when I was in the GMs chair. Lordy was that a headache.)

Enko Laberan |

GMT - 8 out here in the land of surfers and movie stars.
Speaking of which, that was effin' cinematic. And here I was just criticizing movie characters for making dumb decisions! :D

Twigs |

ESL Teacher in China; I had one of those in my PbP RotRL AP that unfortunately seemed to fall apart recently. Can't be too many if those in these boards, probably the same guy. Great role-player.
martinaj? Great roleplayer. I've had the pleasure of playing with him twice. (Or rather, GMing for him once, and very briefly. Poor bloke doesn't seem to be having much luck with his Runelords games. :P)
Did we establish whether we looted the armour from the hellknights or not? It really depends on what GM Mug accounted for time-wise, so it's his call. (I doubt any of us want to traipse around in Hellknight Garb anyway)

Ringtail |

Martinj- that's him! I had an excellent time running for him. Last I heard he was planning on excusing himself from PbP games in favor of a tabletop, but that was a long time ago.
Jaiyana would have no interest in the armor unless it was easily altered (untrained Craft check) to not appear as Helllnight armor.

Enko Laberan |

The carpenter progresses into a fighter slowly but surely. :)
Hey, I know what's going on in these sewers. Someone is setting up a game of Plants vs. Zombies, right?

Pity, that. It's great getting all these connections on the boards, though. Makes me want to put a "dream team" together once I actually have the time on my hands. :P
As for the armour, given that it'd have taken 5 minutes to don properly I figure I would've left it. I wouldn't be wearing it now either way, but let's hope I don't regret that decision in the future but let's set that in stone now.

Bahaha, gold.

I wanted to give a heads up that I will be out much of the weekend...headed to the beach and Fathers' Day stuff. Bot me as needed...I will...go with the flow...

Brayden Green |

Happy FREE RPG day everyone!
I'll be out most of the day, as I'm running some Paizo stuff a good portion of the day.

Honestly; it isn't great. It is a solid computer - the best PC I've ever had, but it is new, and with the lifespan of computers, that doesn't mean much. We overpaid and bought it knowing this as a favor to a good friend. Our friend works for a rent-to-own store and was down on sales and needed a commission. He gave us less of a mark-up than what would be normal for the company, but still quite a bit higher than if my roommate, fiance, and I just bought it straight. We have the convenience of having 4 months to pay it off though, so that's good. Still, since most of the computer work I do is posting on forums, purchasing things on Amazon, and working on my google.docs, it it is way better than what I need, but my fiance wants to get into internet gaming.
Unlikely to cause a nerdgasm, I'm afraid:
Pretty standard 500 GB HD and 4GB memory.
But for someone like me who is constantly using $250 notebooks and tablets for price and portability, it is a welcome upgrade.

Enko Laberan |

Fun stuff. I have PC gearhead and gamer friends as well--some build heavy duting gaming computers, and others...I think they just build them to make them run fast. :D I'm one of those kombucha-sipping music maker types who work on Macs, although I was VMWare Fusion'ing it a bit there for day job purposes.

Jaiyana Nejem |

@ Tavi: It seems that if fighting in tight spaces becomes a common occurrence we would benefit from taking the Swap Places feat at some point. Jaiyana is more of a skirmisher anyway; her AC and hp won't quite stay on par with a fighter so when we are fighting stronger foes she will want to be in and out a bit more often (I'll be taking the Vital Strike chain). If you'd be game for that a few levels down the road we could each keep moving in to flank with either Enko or Lucon every turn while being out of danger every other enemy initiative. That would extend the usefulness of that Life Link power that has been active as well. Just a thought.

Enko Laberan |

Lucon and I should get out front. Maybe he could pick up
Improved Overrun? :) My build eventually benefits from being surrounded by enemies and fighting defensively. Happy to flank as well, and at 4th level I can redirect opponents who attack my flank buddy.
Swap Places is not a bad idea. Tavi can acrobatically get somewhere, but an armored ranger has more difficulty. Can't a ranger do that trick with an animal companion? I believe they can...

A new computer is always a good day. I just got my tablet (non-mac) back from being repaired at the company (it had a bad camera), so I'm happy to be more portable again!

Enko Laberan |

Tablets rule for many things--I'm doing ok sans laptop at the moment. It was good to have one when I was traveling and uploading video and doing some editing in FCP (7!) whilst traveling.
So, I can see why monks are a mysterious and highly esoteric order, because it's taking me forever to pore through threads and rules in order to determine their bonuses and capabilities. That Flurry of Blows debacle scares me. Speaking of, a few questions for Mug:
I wanted to make sure my plans fit with your conception of FoB, Weapon Finesse, etc. Here's what I have noted:
Weapon Finesse applies to Combat Maneuvers (!).
Tripmaster McNasty
Will you allow this? That means I get a +6 on trip (+2 from Improved Trip), and +4 on disarm and sunder. Dang! I would probably just trip.
Also, it appears I can trip, then attack, as a part of Flurry of Blows.
I steer far away from the FoB threads, but let's just assume I won't use trip twice. I'd rather trip once, then attack. If I succeed, I then get +4 on the attack. (I'll preview the rolls to see if I get it or not and add it/not add it accordingly.)
Let me know if that's all good with you. ...I usually play casters, but I am LOVING this monk (and the game in general). Much obliged!

GM Mug |

I just don't like typing on tablets, I enjoy/am used to the keyboard. Just there's always a small usb keyboard if it's all that important.

Enko Laberan |

I am not a fan of typing on tablets, especially if one has to use bbtext..for that, I bluetoothed up a wireless keyboard.
Excellent, thanks for being cool with everything--it is your game, after all. Beware mah trip now, goblins!

Twigs |

Yeah, Improved Overrun might be nice. I'm meaning to take one or two manuever feats (on the original character I'm building from I was a guardsman, so grapple was appropriate. Here I'm not so sure what I'll run with).
I definately want stunning fist at some point though. It's one of my favourite feats.
