I want to pull out and load my crossbow first if there is time before Leora's action. I can't think of what else to do. I didn't actually "see" the wall in the back we could break down just rolled high enough for the check. From the map it looks like it might go to a different room. Open the doors and try to push the dogs out from that side? I have no objection to Leora's action.

As Jessibel stands at the ready just outside the livery doors, myriad thoughts and ideas dance gracefully inside her head.

Gotta be brave, Jessi! Just hold the mutts at bay...protect Kiri, Lydia, Mrs. Eradon, and Lucius long enough for them to kill the beasties....

We really could use a leader...someone to make a plan and then give the order to execute that plan....

That Leora's smart as a whip! Maybe I should suggest her as leader instead of Lydia...assuming she doesn't get eaten....

What are some good, popular dog names? Let's see...there's Rover, Rex, King, Spot...um...Lassie...and Harcule.... No--not Harcule....

I REALLY hope Kiri doesn't order me to try to sneak inside. I told her I didn't like the thought of being chased by a pack of feral dogs....

Now what rhymes with those dog names I picked? Over, Neck (sort of), Sting, hmm...SHOT! I can work Lucius into that stanza.... Um...yeah, glad I discarded Harcule....

Wait! BAR STOOL!!

Break through a wall??!! Mightn't that bring down the whole place? Well, at least that would rid us of the dog problem....

Leora steps into the Livery, blinking as she tries to adjust her eyes. She tosses the meat, and one of the two large dogs sniffs, and slowly walks over to it, stiff-legged, hackles raised and growling as if to say, "Don't you come in here, this is my territory!" The dog lowers his muzzle to the jerky, biting it, never moving his suspicious gaze from Leora.

They haven't attacked yet, but they're clearly threatened by your presence.

Changing her tone from the sing-song voice she'd used earlier to something stern, she advances towards the dogs slowly. "Back off, mutt. I'm coming in here to look around. Lydia, need an attack roll, against AC 5 if you're just aiming at the square, not trying to hit the dog, or against touch AC if you're aiming at the dog itself.

The dog yelps as a jolt sizzling of electricity hits the ground at his feet. He looks rather nervous and slightly cowed by this sudden, unexpected noise and the smell of ozone rising from the burn mark. He does not advance, but makes clear from his growling and body language that anyone approaching may be in for a bite.I'm going to assume this was aimed at the red dog, since there's better line of sight to it from Lydia, and I will further assume this has the effect of a demoralize.

Seeing a spark - probably from Lydia - and a crossbow bolt - probably from Davina - shoot past, Leora scrambles to her feet. The armor makes it awkward, giving the dog a chance to bite at her again. She hadn't really want to hurt the dogs until one had nearly chewed her leg off. Still, she decides to back away towards the door and the safety of her allies.

As Leora tries to stand up, the dog takes advantage and lunges forward, biting her neck and leaving her bleeding profusely, in mortal danger of death. However, Jessibel's healing closes the wound and brings Leora out of danger, though still wounded. 8 damage from the AoO, healed for 5, leaving her at 2/10 HP.

It should be clarified that, unless someone gets a light going, the inside of the livery is dim light for anyone without low-light vision or darkvision. Therefore, anyone without those will need to roll a miss chance against concealment (20%).

Dom moves up to the gate, followed by Kiri. They can see glimpses of their friends fighting the dogs on the other side through the slats in the walls of the stalls, but can't get through yet. The gate appears to be locked, and despite its age, the bars and lock of the gate have mostly escaped rusting away -- perhaps they are made of some kind of rust-resistant alloy. There is a small opening in the gate, but none of you are thin enough to wriggle through it. With a better view of the inside of the building, Kiri and Domitius can see the remains of an old wagon, and a few old doors, mostly fallen to splinters, in the northeast corner.

"Ah, crap. Working on it, Jess!" Over his shoulder to Kiri, Dom says, "Check those rooms behind us, see if there's a way into the main livery. Be careful!"

"Hey! HEY!" Domitius yells and whoops as much as possible, throwing humself against the gate as forcefuly and noisily as possible, both to test the gate (sure, the lock might have held, but maybe the wall didn't hold up so well) and in hopes of making enough racket to draw off a dog or two.

I'll throw a Str check in right off the bat, if there's anything else I need, say so.

Davina grabs one of the crossbow bolts, and casts Daylight on it. She gently tosses it a few feet into the room as not to break the bolt apart.

She then reloads her crossbow.

Leora feels dazed after the last few moments. This time, when she opens her eyes, she's on the ground next to Jessibel and surrounded by snarling dogs. Her leg still hurts from the dog's bite, so she shouts a quick "Thanks! " to Jessi before murmuring a prayer to Cayden for healing.

concentration check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
clw on Leora: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Leora is currently at 7/12 hp . Traveling and posting from my phone so hard to edit my signature right now.

Kiri ignored Dom's request for her to check the doors, she heard the fighting and wasn't going to leave her companions deal with the dogs alone. She looked at the gate, the stupid thing was a pain and in the way. She decided to try and do something about that. She sent a blast of air slamming into teh gate in the hopes that, while the gate was in good shape, maybe it's anchor points weren't.

Air Blast w/ PB on red: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 1 = 211d6 + 1 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 3 + 1 = 11

Nice! Maxed damage.

The gate is locked closed, and goes floor-to-celing. Dom feels that the metal bars are firmly anchored and would be difficult for a single person to break through.

If that was less than a full-round action, I'll go poke my head into that side room, on the off-chance there's a way into the main room from there.

Ability checks are usually standard actions, I think. In any case, you can do so.

After pushing on the gate, Dom goes and pulls open the door to peek inside. There doesn't appear to be a way to get to the main floor from this room, which appears to be a cluttered tool storage room, full of the remains of decayed farrier's tools. He notices teeth make in the wood and leather bits, suggesting rats may be present, and a trap - door that's been propped open leading down.

With the issues at hand Kiri decided that maybe checking the hall was wise, who knew, maybe someone left the key around here somewhere. She began to examine the floors and walls for anything of interest.

Perception (dim light): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
...
Finding nothing of interest she said, "Dom, we need to go back to the front, I can't find anyway through here except that locked gate." With that she began to make her way back outside to head to the front of the building once more.

DC 11 Knowledge ( nature ) or Handle Animal:
Generally, dogs see laying down as submission behavior and are unlikely to attack prone characters without an external factor, such as orders from a trainer or handler to do so, or something like rabies that changes behavior.

Attacking from prone or attempting to stand up (as previously seen) is likely to provoke renewed aggression.
