Davina:
So that's 4 additional things. Well, with the basic roll you know the basics of what Devils have, so you already know they're immune to fire and poison and resistant to cold and acid. They have DR 5/good or silver, have high Fort saves and poor Will saves, but are immune to mind-affecting effects because they're mindless. They attack with two claws against anything that isn't from Hell.

The water will be treated as a bog. Each square will cost 3 squares of movement if you wade through it, or you could swim (it's about 3 feet deep). The water smells really bad though, and it might not be healthy to immerse yourself in it.

Davina studies the Lemures more closely and explains what she knows, "We aren't from hell so they will attack on sight. They are mindless so any spells or songs that affect the mind would be wasted. Watch out for the two claws. Fire and poison won't do anything to them, and cold and acid won't do much. If it isn't a good or silver weapon, then your hits won't do as much damage. Didn't we pick up a silver weapon not long ago?"

I don't know how to put this in character, sorry. Their Fortitude saves are high, but their will save is low.

Jessibel involuntarily grimaces as she hears Davina's words of wisdom and realizes she's likely to be useless in combat against these grotesque denizens of Hell. Still, she tries to put on a brave face as she strides, seemingly confidently, into the vast chamber.

As she passes behind Dom, the bard playfully swats his backside lightly with the flat of her glowing blade and whispers, "Prepare to save my sorry butt, okay?" She then positions herself near the wall several feet to the half-orc's right and waits for the slimy tide of doom to emerge from the sludge (double move).

Terrain Questions for the GM:

1. Is the square directly up from Jessi on the map (with a little rubble in it) considered difficult terrain?
2. Are there any limitations/penalties if Jessi were to move into the partial square diagonally up and left of her current square?

Copper Gate | Skittershot | We Be 5uper Goblins!

The closest lemure is badly hurt, slashes in its supernaturally tough hide oozing infernal ichor. It claws one last time at Lucius... and, missing, collapses into a heap of bloody, oozing flesh.

The remaining creature sloshes through the foul soup and claws at Jessibel. It, too, misses entirely.

All PCs up.

GM dice:

Davina moves up next to Jessibel. "I'm really glad these things don't explode." She swings at the lemure with the silver dagger.

I really need to find a scroll of enlarge person so I can scribe it in my alchemical book. That would have really been helpful. I should write that down, AFTER this fight is over.

Attack with Bless and Inspire Courage: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 191d4 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) - 2 + 1 = 0

I moved my character.

Davina barely scratches the lemure, but where the silver dagger touches it, a line of welts and blisters raises like it was scored with acid.

Seeing that only one enemy remains, Leora is about to simply step up and slash at it. But after seeing how Domitius had just cut one in half, she reconsiders and takes the time to move around to its other side to give him room before swinging her rapier.

Summon monster I only lasts one round, so the summoned celestial dog vanishes before it gets another turn, right?

That is correct, Leora, and by the way, critical threats depend on the number on the die, before bonuses.

Leora's rapier strikes the lemure solidly, but the ordinary steel cannot quite penetrate the infernal flesh.

Flush with confidence after having just about bisected the last of these disgusting things, Domitius strides toward the remaining one, looking it over contemptuously. Emboldened by Jessibel's song, he tries to improv a bit himself, but he's not quite sure. Half-mumbling to himself, he says, "With blades, and wit, and spells of light, we'll push back this infernal blight...?"

Can't reach him from where I was, so I'll move, then use a second move action to apply Studied Target.

Kiri stepped closer to the frey and lined up on last blast of air. The winds swirled around her for a moment and then she directed them at the last lemure. She saw the burst slam into the water and throw up a spray of the nasty muck and let loose a nasty curse in her native tongue.

Definitely making up for all those superb rolls earlier on it seems.

Continuing Inspire Courage +1 as a free action.

"With spell and sword, bow and mace,
Let's whack this slimeball in the face!"
Jessibel sings before quickly announcing, "Made those lyrics up myself!"

Fixing the lemure with an imperious glare, the bard spits out some harsh words in a mocking, condescending tone.

Infernal:

"Battle me, pathetic wretch!"

Locking eyes with the devil, Jessi takes a couple steps backward (5-foot step) and lowers herself into a defensive crouch (total defense), all the while waving the creature forward with the hand of her buckler arm.

Lydia snaps her fingers, sending a spark towards the final lemure, being drained of magic other than this one trick. The spark of electricity flies wide, leaving a burn mark on a nearby tile.

Moving for Lucius to keep things going.

Lucius reloads his musket.

The remaining Lemure turns on the wielder of silver, and rips into her, badly wounding Davina with its claws. 7 damage to Davina.
