Pinned: A pinned creature is tightly bound and can take few actions. A pinned creature cannot move and is denied its Dexterity bonus. A pinned character also takes an additional –4 penalty to his Armor Class. A pinned creature is limited in the actions that it can take. A pinned creature can always attempt to free itself, usually through a combat maneuver check or Escape Artist check. A pinned creature can take verbal and mental actions, but cannot cast any spells that require a somatic or material component. A pinned character who attempts to cast a spell or use a spell-like ability must make a concentration check (DC 10 + grappler's CMB + spell level) or lose the spell. Pinned is a more severe version of grappled, and their effects do not stack.

"If you could tie this creature while I hold it, I don't believe it would be able to bother us further. He pants. "There is rope in my bag should you need it!"

Zephra retrieves the rope from Creeden's pack and ties up the creature.

"Well, I might miss that rope later, but better than fighting the beast. Let's push on in!"

Zephra considers. "We could put the creature out of its misery. I don't know if it is here because our host put it here or because our enemies did, but I suspect our enemies. But it isn't undead, so its existence does not offend my goddess." She smiles sweetly and cleans off her daggers.

"I don't see why not. Something sinister is definitely going on here. The Beast may be in trouble." Creeden scratches his head.

Ortensia manages to open the door, as it looks on closer inspection as if someone had damaged the lock somewhat. A huge portrait hangs above an enormous, lit fireplace in this large entry chamber. A set of steep stairs rises to the right. Tied up in one corner is an unfamiliar figure.

You see a half-elf lying on his side struggling a little though he seems calm. His robes are nicely made but plain and in dark as to not be seen. His face equally nondescript. He is dirty and roughed up from a scuffle. When from behind him you see a spectral Jerboa that is undoing his bounds.
He stands as the bonds are released.
"My plan to get in did not go as smoothly as I had hoped. Though I have some skills as an investigator, stealth is not one of them. May I ask your names and purpose?"
Eleric proceeds to gather his equipment. Open his spell book and cast mage armor.
"It's not much but it helps."

"Invitation you say? By whose invite and for what purpose? Maybe I can be of help. I encountered some trolls that seemed to be guarding the place so rather than lose a fight I got captured and they brought me in. Tada! It worked. There have been strange happenings here so I decided to explore."
He picks the rodent up on his finger and puts him in his bag.
"Hid now we will have work later."

"We were invited by a friend of ours to visit his...birthplace, I'd suppose you would say. We didn't expect to find those trolls, either. What kind of strange things have you heard about this place?"

"Rumours of arcane experiments, movement of strange creatures, things that go bump in the night. It is hard to separate fact from fiction. But, it is clear these are not the normal denizens of this keep."
With that Elric cast floating disk and hops on it.

Zephra makes a ritual prayer to Pharasma as they cross the threshold, and looks at Eleric with wide-eyed innocence. "Have you ever heard of the Whispering Way?" she asks.

Eleric cast detect magic and looks around the room. He then flys up to the portrait and inspects it.

If he finds noting he pokes the eyes of the portrait to make sure there are not eyes looking at them.

Sorry, my notifications for all of my Paizo games seem to have stopped!
Zephra looks to the others with a worried expression. "We, uh, have reason to think that this castle has been occupied by some of the followers of The Whispering Way. One of the goblins we killed carried their symbol." She makes a face as she says "The Whispering Way," as if it makes her angry to think of them.
