I generally just assume that we're delaying as needed amongst ourselves.

For example, here, at the start of the fight, I delayed after the group, to wait for a flanker. Just now, you delayed after me so I could flank before you stepped back.

Also, well done! Level 4 achieved, mythic tier 1 accessed. Shiny. I decided to go mythic on account that I can't make you too much more awesome than you already are anyway, and it'll be fun.

But first! You guys have now beaten part 1 of Broken Towers, so let's have a chat.

I'm having fun, and I hope you all are as well. But I know my style of GMing is not for all folks, and that I've occasionally made a mess of the rules. I'm afraid that's just how I am, although I will be making a spreadsheet with all your special powers, defenses and immunities to help make it so I don't forget too much next time. Aibek's player will be so proud.

What I'm rambling my way towards is the choice for any you fine and lovely people to drop out now, with a minimum of fuss to the plot and no hard feelings on my part. In fact, if you aren't enjoying the game I'd appreciate you telling me so, so we can either resolve it or write you out now.

This won't be the last time I ask this, I suspect. When it comes to my story telling abilities, writing and such I have a very low opinion of myself (it always comes as a shock when I get accepted into games, for example) and so I tend to write in escape points in a story for players to bail.

Also of note; the next section will have less combat, as I get a feeling for Mythic and your new power levels. It'll be much more social based with occasional combats rather than a dungeon crawl.

If you do stay, I'd still like some honest feedback on things. I know I made mistakes, and will work to improve the ones I know about, so don't fear hurting my feelings. I'm a redhead.

For those of you who are sticking around; take a couple of days to chat IC while you work on updating your sheets, exploring your new powers and talking about what happened. I'll probably throw and NPC or two in to interact with, and then it'll be time to go see Zhen again.

I am fine with staying, my guy does not know about most of his abilities. So only the passive ones really need to be noted. My gripe is Nigrum is built for combat and he has the social skills of a barbarian tyrant, mostly because he is a more refined and lovable version of one. So he may prove useless in this next phase of the story.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Nigrum - Yeah, I noticed you weren't posting when the fighting didn't happen. I'd play it exactly how it would be for Nigrum - you're out of your element, confused and trying to adapt. The key thing will be learning to adapt by picking up social skills and traits. Even my dungeon crawls involve social interaction, so the social interaction sections will kick your ass.

Mihara - Take the half your dice +1 or, if you feel brave, roll. I'll trust you guys not to use the Preview trick.

Overlord: Looking over my spell selection for leveling, I am reminded of a question. For spells such as Spiritual Weapon that were around before oracles, is it okay to use casting stat(Cha) instead of Wisdom? It's cool if you're not comfortable with it. I just wanted to ask before I take a spell like that and we're in the middle of combat. Thanks!

Yay, Aibek touched the thing and caused the stuff - and got rest so no more focused twitchy mind.

Yay spreadsheets, I do love my spreadsheets, I have sheets for everything from finances to video game collection. Because I am a dork with delusion of being organized one day.

For your spreadsheet dear Overlord, as a Shadow assassin, Aibek now gains Evasion and a skill bonus of half their level to any acrobatics, bluff, climb, escape artist, or sleight of hand checks in dim or darker light conditions. So I will keep poking/asking you about the light conditions when I need to do the things.

I don't get any boosts from Shadow Creature this level (other than I may get a boost from missing that Shadow Creatures are technically outsiders and get stuff from that that I haven't applied yet to Aibek - I'll go over that with you Jon for greater clarity) or witchwolfiness until 5th level (I then get DR/magic, boost to resistance to cold and electric and bonuses from the next extra feature feat which I'm quite looking forward to Aibek getting).

I'm still deciding on a mythic path. Of the Paizo ones, Trickster is the most natural for Aibek but still up in the air for now as I know there are other non-Paizo ones to look at which I will go over with you later oh Overlord. I will update my stat line once I've gone over this stuffs with you.

I wrote a report about what happened until now filled with double entendres: do you think I'm going to pull off just now? ;)
(Also, my description of the Magma Elemental's encounter wasn't suggestive enough: I must train harder!)

I'm really liking the campaign: Redemption (from the little fluff we got) and the invisible imouto Kira were really cool. The encounters were good, too: again the Redemption one was was really well done, and you nailed the difficulty level perfectly.

The only thing that I would handle differently is the map design: to cite Painlord, doors and corridors are the bane of PbP. Particularly at the start, it took us a couple or more of IRL days to exit a room and enter the next. We got better at it later, tough: in the future, I would advise to work with more directly connected rooms.
But aside from that, all cool. :D

Build wise, I'll go Champion 100%. Mostly for this:

More seriously, Champion has a lot of cool things for grapplers, and the crush action of Uncanny Grappler will let me actually damage things aside from restraining them.
Just imagine when I get that and constrict. :D
I also noticed an error in my sheet: I've taken the FCB to add 1/4 ki point to my pool for the first three levels, but I couldn't have done that as I still didn't have a ki pool. I also bought the Demon Revisited add-on for Herolab, so later I'll fix that error, add mythic, and use the actual template instead of the hodgepodge of modifiers I had to slap on. :P

@Nigrum: You don't have to contribute with MAD DIPLOMACY SKILLZ to participate! :D
If you sit out of social encounters, you're missing more than half of the fun, considering that there's much more potential in them in PbP: being able to describe what you're doing, instead of mostly being able to talk, is a huge boon to more silent/introspective/BARBARIAN AM SMASH characters.
From a mechanical standpoint, I think you get a bonus to Sense Motive for being a Slayer, and Aid Another will be a huge help: it's just a DC 15 to contribute!

Selena has noticed herself that Nigrum has been acting dead serious since now (and he didn't respond to Selena's teasing): we actually have an IC motivation to start helping you on your social skills. Between Selena and the resident foxy merchant smooth talker, you'll become socially apt in no time...
...or maybe not so much: being the straight man/stiff guy could also be fun. :P

PS: You are the Harem protagonist: if you don't post when we aren't in combat, how are you supposed to walk in on us while we're changing? :P

Armor Master is most valuable if you have a heavy emphasis on Dexterity - otherwise, the few points of AC you'd gain (especially from -multiple- selections) are less likely to help you than some of the other powers (Ever Ready and Impossible Speed are fairly good choices overall, and Legendary Item, of course, is phenomenal).

Also, I believe Extra Path Ability requires Tier 3, so you probably couldn't take that anyway...

Aw your right, got it mixed up with extra mythic power which sits on top of it. Need to see what I will pick instead of that. The reason I am going for it is because I want him to wear heavy armor without crippling his dex, speed, skills, and such. We have no true tank, which is why it's early on my list, and he is going to be upfront anyways so may as well make him tougher. His dex is 18 now, it's going to increase as we level and via wish or manuals it could go up even higher. Having full plate with no drawbacks on top of that dex will make his AC high enough to take on the sort of monsters we will be fighting.

Lets say Nigrum had full plate now as is. His defenses would be AC 24, Touch 11, and FF 23. He would also suffer from lower move speed and -7 to all Str and Dex based skills, not to mention unable to sleep in his armor without suffering ill effects. Full plate with armor master would be AC 27, Touch 14, and FF 23 with no drawbacks of any kind. It's a difference and will grow as we level and other things come into play.

P.S. Any advice on a mythic feat, now that I have to look over them again. xD


Really depends on what you want to do. Dual Path is good for the creative types who want to mix powers from different paths, and Mythic Power Attack is, of course, just flat-out incredible. What I'm really waiting on is the full release of Mythic Mania, which is expanding coverage to as many feats as possible in an attempt to match different builds. XD Of course, feat selection is very limited (just the universal options and whatever you've already chosen), so it's best to ask which of your current feats you'd like to be better and go from there.

As a Trickster, Mihara has one important decision to make:

Which one path ability do I want to nab with Path Dabbling.

I'm currently leaning towards waiting for rank 3 and picking up the Champion's Fleet Warrior with it, but I may instead go for something more magical, to fit the Kitsune theme.

EDIT: The Archmage's "Many Forms" would be extremely fitting as well.

Well I am thinking weapon focus, looking at it. Doubling the attack bonus from the feats sounds good. More accuracy is always nice.

By the way, Azri: do you know if there is an announced release date for the Mythic Hero's handbook? I looked around the kickstarter page for Mythic Mania and the posts here on Paizo, but didn't find anything.

Making adjustment to the sheet now, I will post it later: feat wise, I think I'll grab Mythic Improved Unarmed Strike to have access to Titan Fist later. In the long run, Mythic Improved Grapple is another thing I'm aiming for, but its bonus is negligible at tier 1-3.

There's no official release date I'm aware of. They're currently on the testing and feedback phase, before things are finalized and go to print - we're on the Monster Manual right now, and last I heard they're planning to do the Spell Compendium next. We might have a draft of the Hero's Handbook in 3-4 weeks, and I can dig through it for specifics if there's anything you'd like to know about. ^^

Ayreth: Yes, use Charisma. I love spiritual weapon.

Azri: Sorry for not being clear. You remain one level lower than the others, so level 3/mythic 1. If you start lagging we'll either add in your full template abilities or add the level back.

Nigrum: You're allowed to keep anything from the Temple, bar the vault. I suppose you could plunder that too, but it'll upset the Temples of Sarenrae and in that part of the world that's a bad place to be. So yes, Ayreth has a bow! It's a masterwork composite bow with a +2 strength rating.

Also, yes, SR should go up with level.

I think the question about SR is about going off HD or CR? HD is based off our level, mythic has no effect or templates. CR on the other hand is increased based off templates, gear (wealth), mythic, and so on. Just want to be clear which we are basing it off.

First, I want to say that I really enjoy something like this where we get to customize something personal for our characters. Kudos and thanks, Overlord!

Second, I really like the way it's unfolding. In particular, Mihara, you really sucked me in with the tail stuff, and then how it might relate to your brother. Very cool!

@Azri: Agreed. Similarly, I like how well Mihara and Selena are synergizing, with the grappling and the sneak attacks.

I learned a great trick from a friend, yesterday:

Now that Mihara has Transfer Spells, if you or Ayreth has access to a powerful buff that is self-only, with your cooperation (or not, but that's not the kind of player I am), Mihara can swipe it, and we end up with a spellcaster-only buff on a rogue.
