the team works together to bring the last skeleton down.. the only noise filling the cavern is the tinkling of falling bone shards and heavy breathing from the combatants!

Beyond the bottleneck, the cavern opens into another small cavern littered with bits of broken glass, rotting pieces of paper, and other unusable detritus. The body of a male dhampir lies facedown toward the back of the cavern.

"Everyone ok? What's that? Zarzuket moves up and looks at the body carefully.

PERCEPTION: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

"Sir perhaps wait till people are healthy"

Fool I hope it kills him...then I can leave

Aid Another (Perception): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Lorÿndahl follows Zarzuket into the chamber and looks over the corpse.

"Is he dead?"

Heal, untrained: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Theon kicks the piles of bones as he moves into the room. He approaches the corpse with his glaive pointed at the form in the event it moves. "Judging by the gods awful stench coming from this place, I would hope so. The most important question though, is what is it and those skeletons doing here?"

Vlazis examines the body and chamber, looking for any spell component pouches, unholy symbols, onyx residue or other signs that the dhampir was more than a victim of the undead.
Has anything happened here to cause these skeletons to rise spontaneously? That would be much harder to resolve.

As you move in to check the decomposing body, you find several interesting things. Firstly, Zarzuket finds a note crumpled into what is left of a pocket detailing plans to start an army of undead made from the "Fish People" who have been frequenting the caves. Then, as Theon begins to kick over some of the trash pile, he stumbles upon two very well made weapons, a longsword and a light crossbow. These are obviously very well made and cherished weapons.

It looks as though our unfortunate friend here was the architect of his own demise. A fool, to use power that's not safely harnessed.

Vlazis murmurs a prayer to Dispater for knowledge and scans the area for any sorcery. Detect Magic.

Both weapons detect as magical, +1

"Interesting there's a note here about an undead army and fish men. We'll definitely have to make mention of this in our report to the Society"

"A welcome end to this scoundrel," Egil says. "We will take his treasures and seek battle elsewhere. Shall we explore the other tunnel?" he asks.

Vlazis shrugs at Zarzuket, It seems incidental to our true purpose, but I suppose there is no reason to omit it.

I deem that as good a plan as any Egil. By the by, these weapons are enchanted, and should be claimed by those with the skill and need to wield them.

Theon sneers at the body of the would be necromancer before he examines the magical blade with interest. "It was fortuitous that his own creatures ended these fiends life." He hefts the sword, testing its edge. "I would be telling a falsehood if I were to say I was not keenly interested in that sword."

"Sword? Take it, Theon. You may need it if that large bull thing is still about."

'I know I can't use the sword..a warrior is better with it. Theon help yourself!" Zarzuket smiles.

"Sirs and madames should we move along?"

Sorry guys. I was actually in the middle of typing your post last night when I fell asleep at my laptop!!

The team divides their findings, and leaves the remains of the undead and their creator to the fates. You return to the cave with Uori, passing quickly into the opposite corner where you exit once again. This passage varies in width and height, and you encounter a number of twisting paths that often lead to either impassible cave ins and rock falls, areas that narrow to the point you cannot progress, or they lead you right back to the main tunnel. After about 20 minutes of hard hiking, the tunnels broaden to reveal a shallow river that bisects an immense tunnel stretching to the north and south. To the east a small passage exits the chamber at a steep incline, and to the north and south, the cavern fades away into darkness.

Approaching the stream, you see two lizard like creatures across cavern, armed with javelins and swords.

Vlazis dashes forward, crying out to the kobolds, Kneel before your betters!

Channel Negative Energy excluding Theon. Will DC 17 to avoid being dazed, either way the kobolds will take 1/2 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4 so 2 damage to both.

Right. 'Holy'...

Theon lets out a sigh as Vlazis rushes forward to engage the kobolds before words could be exchange. Oh well, kobolds were vermin anyway... He draws out his longbow as he moves forward into better position and fires an arrow at the closest Kobold (Red).

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8

Yea, well.. would you have rather I said "UN"holy? lol

Theon steps forward to release his arrow, but as he does, he trips an unseen wire running along the floor.

Dmg: 1d3 ⇒ 2
I will also need a DC 13 Fort save or take 1 con dmg/round for 4 rounds until a save is made.

The kobolds both stand in shock from the unholy shock of energy.

Theon grunts as the unseen trap trips and a bolt pierces his leg. He feels a burning sensation as the poison tries to work into his blood, but he yanks out the projectile before it has a chance...

"More weak foes!" Egil shouts. "But there is glory in battle against any that would challenge our dominance!"

Egil moves toward the kobolds and inspires some of his companions.

Inspired Rage for any takers, (+2 Str/Con; +1 Will)

Trip: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 2 = 9

Theon sets his bow to one side and makes his way across the stream (assuming Difficult Terrain and costing double movement to cross), drawing his glaive as he moves into position. Once across the stream, he attempts to knock the feet out from underneath the nearest enemy (Red).

Zarzuket moves and readies to fire his crossbow.

Egil calls out a rally cry as he moves forward, offering his companions to join in on his rage against the weaklings before them.

Theon crosses the stream, dropping his bow and bringing his glaive about. He tries to trip one of the creatures, but barely misses.

Zarzuket tries to move into a good firing position.

Skai double moves to get into the cavern to see what the fuss is all about.

Loryndahl moves forward towards the commotion, drawing a weapon as she turns to run north along the shore of the stream.

Vlazis channels more of his gods displeasure at the kobolds, hoping to keep them enspelled. The energy rolls over them, leaving them unable to move.

Zarzuket fires his crossbow.

Once again Theon attempts to strike down the nearby kobold, but once again his attack is poorly aimed in his haste...

Skai moves to the rock in the water, trying to get across.

Lorÿndahl steps forward and lashes out at the kobold in the blue tunic with her scorpion whip while Egil's fury fills her.

Raging Scorpion Whip: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 for slashing damage of : 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Egil roars and wades through the small stream toward the unlucky pair of kobolds, his axe behind him and ready to swing forward.

Vlazis, with a slight look of exasperation, continues You will not be permitted to resist!

No one is able to lay a finger upon the reptilian beasts, but Vlazis' constant domineering finally causes them to succumb. They both fall to the ground.

End of Combat

"My my is everyone OK?"

Egil looks on in dismay as the kobolds crumble to the ground.

"Where is the fun in that?!" he wonders. "Surely some swordplay would be more enjoyable for all. Perhaps next time."

The skald quickly searches the corpses and then continues exploring the tunnel.

Theon sighs in frustration at his inability to hit the kobolds, even as they stood dazed. He then remembers the bolt sticking out of his body and promptly removes it. "If perhaps one of you fine folks could use this wand upon my wound?"

Wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

"Sure, I give it a try!"

Skai plays with the wand for a bit, and then says "Aha!" as she activates it to heal Theon's wound.

Vlazis smiles warmly, Swordplay is certainly a glorious test of strength and right, but with creatures as cunning as kobolds, I thought it best to ensure they didn't have time for any trickery. I'm sure you will find your chance against truer foes.

No real gear from the kobolds, and Theon is taken care of. If there is anything you would like to do, it can be handled in a retcon!

The team exits the cavern through a tunnel behind where the kobolds were. Moving through a maze of tight passages loaded with steep ascents and short climbs, you begin to hear the sounds of a far off battle. At one point, you can clearly hear Janira half shouting, half reciting ;b'"As the legendary Gregaro Voth successfully battled the wild beasts in the deepest reaches of the Mwangi Expanse, so shall I defeat you, foul servant of Lamashtu!"[/b] Her voice is strong, but the weariness is hard to mistake. As you continue, you are able to catch snatches of the distant battle.. earthy roars and loud crashes mixed with inspirational tales of famous Pathfinders and their heroic deeds.

The tunnel before you opens up to reveal a very large mass of fungi and mushrooms covering the tunnel ahead.

"Janira still faces the beast! Rouse yourselves, Pathfinders! To battle!" Theon shouts and begins rushing towards the sound of fighting as quickly as the small confines will allow him.

Zarzuket follows Theon. "Come on Pip!

"Hold, friends! An Ulfen legend tells of a cave that devoured any that entered, and it was filled with fungi and mushrooms such as these! We would be best to take care!" he says.

As if to test his theory, the skald casts a stone at the area.
