The Razor Coast has drawn men to madness and slaughter since the world was young. Tulita natives, born from the same fire as this jagged coast, claim the Razor existed long before the world’s other lands. It is a crucible of flame cooled by the ocean’s caress and its mountains, reefs, and lightless depths teem with as many terrors as lustrous spoils. The Razor bucks the trappings of civilization in much the same manner the storm-tossed sea spurns the men who dare mount her. This is no place for the weak-willed. Untested souls are food for its storms, its fickle gods, its ancient spirits, and the evil predations of unfathomable creatures. "Its a pleasure," Chell says automatically. She is a little distracted by the gruesome display. Was a visual reminder like this really necessary? Highly unsanitary unless some wizard used Gentle Repose...a lot. Its a wonder anyone was able to eat here. Eventually she turns back to Astrianna. "It handles well enough but without a lot of additions, modification, and more people it will never hold up in a fight. Best just save your money for one of the other ones. We also picked up some lost souls." She then turns to the table at large. "Fair warning. There is an evil outsider posing as a cat, or probably some other small animal, that is passing along some disease. Causes strange boils that resist positive energy. I told the harbormaster to give out a warning."

Astrianna nods her head at the mention of saving up for another ship. "I'm telling you, Baron of the Tides is the best ship for sale. Only people with a faster ship are these fine sailors." She gestures to the crew of Quell's Whore.

The half-elf quirks a brow at the news of their pick-ups and the presence of an evil outsider. "An outsider? As in a non-denizen of the material plane? You didn't kill it? What did it look like?" She is extremely curious about this "outsider".

Astrianna cups her chin and thinks for a moment what kind of creature it could have been. "Wow. A cat, invisible, flew off, and tried to make an exchange for freedom...? Spreading diseases? You guys did run off and have an adventure without us!" She teases, in a rather good mood given the events of the day.

From the description it sounded like a familiar or perhaps a devil like an imp, or demon like a Quasit. From your recollection they had poison, not disease, but who knows what could emerges from the 9-Hells or the Abyss.

Astrianna wracks her brain, but something troubles her. "The description sounds like an Imp or a Quasit... which is classed as a devil and a demon, respectively. Maybe someone's familiar? What I find strange is you said it was causing a disease? Imps and Quasits use venom for defense and aren't known to spread diseases, but... Much, much stranger and deadlier things have been summoned from the bowels of Hell."

The half-elf decides to abstain from the Belok vs Varion fight for personal reasons. She would rather just watch the fight and see what happens.

She does put down 500 gold on Jin, however. Jonah hadn't steered her wrong in the past and the bard would make sure the the crowd was on Jin's side... not that he needed much help.

The crowd is boisterous approaching riotous with all the pushing and shoving. The floors shake from the boot stomping as the first of the two main events is about to occur.

In comes a Varion Drakemoor, who is a lithe wiry elf, whose smaller
frame does not fit among his hulking compatriots. He wearing tan breeches and white linen top, a outfit that speak confidence that he intends to have no blood on his body. He plays up the crowd dancing and showing off a furious contamination of air punches. He take the time to play to the his supporters and blowing kisses and winks to several women in the crow.

When Belok makes it to the ring he has a completely didn't demeanor. He is wearing leather legging and white rob. He takes off the robe which reveal layers of sculpted muscle, but it looks like he has been in a recent contest with some sort of cat as his back is raked several times. He looks around the crowd but doesn't acknowledge anyone. He simply knees down on one leg as says a prayer. After a few moments he stands and meets Varion in the middle to the ring to touch fists.

She feels her encouragement and endorsement of the fighting was sufficient to convince anyone.

The half-elf blows Varion a kiss as he shows off in the ring. I have the suspicion Varion is about to get pummeled. I hope Belok doesn't smash his pretty face.

The energy in the crowd is growing, there is even some jostling amongst the onlookers as they try to get a better view. Even for those who frequent the Skull it looks even more crowded....a deathtrap if a fire broke out. :-)

Bri respond to Korg in giant still. "I put 100 on Belok, but couldn't make up my mind for the other fight. I agree with you that if they work as a team, then Jin could be in trouble. But I have no idea if the two even know each other, let along know how to work as a team. If they let their egos get in the way about which of them gets to deliver the knock out blow, then they will be in trouble."

Everyone knows before the fight begins the simply rules" The rules are simple: one on one, no weapons or armor of any sort and no spellcasting. Praying (divine spellcasting) is fine as long as it has no discernable effect on the opponent. The feral crowd usually beats to death anyone caught breaking the rules. The other fighters, who do not appreciate dirty tricks, pile on.

The disqualified person and the bets on that person are lost. the non-disqualified person wins along with those betting on him. Of course, pandemonium could break out in the crowd.

Chell's interest grows as the fight progresses. Belok was good unarmed. Too good to not have extensive training. Whoever this Varion was, he was unlikely to win. He must have known that because Chell caught a strange move from the elf. He mouthed some words and made a gesture with one hand close to his body so no one would see it. Well she saw it and she decided to move close enough to perceive what spell he might have placed on himself or Belok.

Move within 60 and Detect Magic on both. Does Divine Power count against the rules? If I can use divine buffs I might be able to give these boys a run for their money.

DP does not count against the rules. Everything you've heard of at the table and chatting with the group would indicate neither Belok or Jin would cheat. The best fighters tend to be monks or ex-monk/clerics. it was a necro spell that Varion used.

You'd probably do ok with some of the lower fights maybe even Varion, but it does become a hit point thing. Eventually, you need to take the punches.

So Belok is at least a 7th level cleric and a first level monk or more. That dude is a beast.

Bruner, Belok, Fairbanks, Jin hit with wallops. I ddidn't even apply all the suggested bonuses to belok for this fight.

If you want to try yoru hand there is 2 fight qualifier requirement against against some ham and eggers, which is no biggie before you can start to fight the named contestants. Have at it....it can be fun.
