The Razor Coast has drawn men to madness and slaughter since the world was young. Tulita natives, born from the same fire as this jagged coast, claim the Razor existed long before the world’s other lands. It is a crucible of flame cooled by the ocean’s caress and its mountains, reefs, and lightless depths teem with as many terrors as lustrous spoils. The Razor bucks the trappings of civilization in much the same manner the storm-tossed sea spurns the men who dare mount her. This is no place for the weak-willed. Untested souls are food for its storms, its fickle gods, its ancient spirits, and the evil predations of unfathomable creatures. No less dangerous are the men who make the coast their home and whose dark desires put most horrors to shame.

The half-elf takes out her coin pouch. "How much for the best map of Blacksink you have? Can I get a trade-in for the other map, perhaps...?" She tries to save at least a few coins on the deal.

You've got 4 sailors near the coast that need tending to before getting to the city. The capt, chell, torgue and you were going back out in the Vintage to tend to those boils. If you don't want to go that's fine the captain will bring Jenkie or someone else with them. Meanwhile chell went to get cure disease scrolls from Father Zalen.


Fathere Zalen listens to Chell's story nods a few times then rummages through some scrolls grabbing four for the Priestess. "Sounds like some sort of plague, and they put the men on the dory to avoid the spread of it amongst the crew. Do you need help?" He waves off the money offered.

You're right, it was consistent, I thought her reaction was stronger than that for some reason.

Astrianna was hoping to get more off than that, but she knows these maps and knowledge comes at a premium. Many adventurers die in the name of cartography every year.

The bard shells out the coin with a smile. "Oh trust me, I know how crazy it's been. This past week has been one of the busiest, and most exciting, of my life." Also incredibly profitable.

She slips the map into her haversack, and hopes it will help tomorrow. After hearing the excruciating details about the swamp, the last thing she wants is to get lost in it. Astrianna prepares to say her goodbyes to Jasmine, who has been incredibly helpful. "I'll definitely return soon, thank you for looking into the Jawbone for me. My group will hopefully uncover its location soon. Ah, I don't know if you're free tonight, but I plan on fiddling at the Skull tonight. I promise it will be a treat if you can make it."

Exiting the guild and making her way off of campus, Astrianna begins her trek out of the Silk district and to the Bawd district. She briefly considers getting her performer's outfit, but decides the Skull at night is a bit too rough and tumble to be looking pampered. She heads straight to the Broken Skull, hoping the others will be there.

"If you have Dispel Magic then I think you should come, otherwise I should be able to handle it. One of them has a cat that has a Transmutation aura the others aren't aware of. It might be a polymorph. And I would like to pay. We still have Dajobas to worry about and they are the only defense we have right now." Chell packs up everything she might need to stay safe while trying to figure out what the boils are. Just before leaving she turns to ask one more question. "This might sound weird but...what defenses do you have here? The more we look into the Kraken, the more at danger I will be and you by default. Its not unknown that you are helping us," she says both serious and worried.

"We can settle up later and by the way, I've been in danger the since the day I came into town. it's a family thing." He laughs loudly trying to break the tension. He then followers his acolyte. His last words, "Well, talk more later."


Belok wrestles with Bri thoroughly examining the spell. Once his curiousity is satiated he comes up for air, "Yep...visual only." With a roar he chuckles. "I do need to be getting ready for the fight, a little dinner, and prayer to that bastard whoremongering cursed toe dung that has taken me under his wing."

Aaaah so that's what it is. No wonder they got kicked off their ship. It's kind of funny it happened that way. Astri and Bri have priorities, of course! In all it makes it a lot more mysterious and gives Chell an opportunity to get some confidence back.

Chell knows the laugh was fake and mostly to break tension but she smiles anyway. He was right. This was a dangerous town. Just coming here probably shortened their expected life span by several years. But it was their duty try and help that. A cleric of Quell's mission is never done. Proof of point too that he was rushing off to help some poor men bitten by sharks, or worse, and she was off to help sailors with strange boils. They leave the chapterhouse together but soon head in different directions towards their own emergencies.

Chell gets back to Donovan at the Vintage as fast as possible. It was getting dark.

By the time Chell gets to the Vintage she notices the Capt, Sorrin, and Torgue pacing around ready to depart. The light has faded and the air is thick with the volcanic sulfur smell as the cloud cover blots out the moon. Not a pleasant evening to be out on the water.

Astrianna waves to Bri and falls into step with her on their way to the Skull. "Today has certainly been productive. I had the fortune of encountering Thalios Dondrel and I extracted a great deal of information from him in the most fun way possible. Ah, he's going to have some lovely bruises for trophies." She muses, fondly remembering their time together earlier. "He should be at the Skull tonight."

"I stopped by the Explorer's guild and learned a lot about the Blacksink Marsh. Let's just say we should be on our toes at all times. I purchased a map of the area as well, we don't want to get lost in there. I'll fill everyone in on specific dangers when we're all together later, let's enjoy ourselves for now." The bard hefts her fiddle with a grin. "I plan on solidifying my reputation as one of the best fiddlers in the city tonight. The whole building will be shaking from the stomping of boots and dancing."

When they reach the Skull she takes a quick stock of the room, particularly interested if there is anyone she knows or other musicians present.

Different events, different times of the day, different locations. No real need to get the party divided in thirds, nor three potential conflicts happening at this stage. This is basically a bunch of RP, gather info., and foreshadowing before you all move into another heavy situation tomorrow with the swamp.

If I remember the map, the chapterhouse isn't too far from the dock where either the Vintage or the Dragon's Tail are at. And it isn't quite night until she gets back. But if you want to make sure the wolves don't get the rabbit be my guest. The cleric has some nifty get out of jail free cards but I figure it will be another day or so before word gets around of Barret and her comments to Xander.

With Chell's incredible sailing and her insight that the men would not stay put as directed by the Captain, you intercept the pirates in the dory. The dory was making it's way closer to land, when you come up within 30 feet of the ship. The water is black and light is needed.

What is everyone doing on the ship? Capt Donovan is handling the ship so he is out of action for the time being.

Chell speaks to Donovan first. "I would like to bring them on one at a time. That would make them the most manageable and make them easier to subdue should they get...ideas."

"And where exactly were you headed?" she asks of the men in the dory. The food she gave them was obviously enough to give them the strength to make it this far but she figured they'd peeter out after an hour or so. Malnutrition was a hell of a drug. was not something that could be cured so quickly.

If they agree she picks one at random and asks them to come aboard, if it is alright with Donovan. "Please leave any weapons behind. I'm just here to help."

Chell re-applies the gloves and mask to be sure not to get infected herself as she examines the first one to come aboard. She has the others stand back but asks them to be watchful.

You all see two spears in the dory, used for spearing fish or defending against things in the water, they each have a knife and there are two daggers total in the dory.

Chell make 4 CL checks d20+your CL. One for each sailor. the DC is 13)

The first man is covered in oozy broken blisters, his skin is angrily inflamed, and he is weak kneed. Your heal check tells you he is highly contagious with a disease known as the shakes, its a type of plague. It is spread through contact.

Remove disease is a touch spell so your precautions of gloves is quite appropriate.

How close to the people coming aboard is everyone else? Chell do you provide any type of warning to your crew-mates.
