I am a little confused. Did you roll initiative for the surprise round and then re-roll it for the regular round? I have never seen it done that way.

The initiative I rolled for the surprise round just included those that were aware (Holbrecht, yourself and the creature)

Anytime the full group is not aware I always re-roll initiative once the surprise round is over to get the round initiative for full combat.

I have always done that if their is a surprise round, I haven't changed the way I do things.

Some DM's actually do init every single round, some once per battle etc. I do once per battle but I keep surprise rounds separately unless everyone can act.

Not a problem, but I have never seen it done that way and did not initially understand why I had acted before the elemental initially and after later. Per RaW everyone rolls init at the start of combat, establishing it for the combat, but only those that were not surprised act in the surprise round.

And yes, rolling init every round is a hold over from first edition.

Yes, thank you. I wanted to put the roll in when I posted, but I was trying to wrap up my RL game and had to put my computer away. I was just trying to get the surprise post in so we could move forward in case I was unable to get back on when I got home (which I wasn't).

Don't know if it makes much difference, but bite natural attacks are treated as Blunt, Slashing, and Piercing simultaneously. So the bite should do full damage.

Doohhh, so in actuality the group destroyed it rather than it running away since it only had 2 hitpoints remaining.

I now feel much better about dealing it only 1 damage. ^^

Yes, disable device to disable the pressure plate. Neferteri's side has one the side of the room Kachu is on does not.

I am going to have to put this game on hold for a few weeks. As some of you know I run a Christmas business and this year it has hit full steam way earlier than I expected. We have had over a hundred orders per day over the last few days. While good for the business it is not so good for gaming. Or my free time.

I will pick the game back up as soon as Christmas is over. In early January. I hope to find each of you still around.
