Mostly gone, something about keeping up with his blackberry.

Might I suggest in character introductions?

Good group of roleplayers here! I love the snippets of conversation that have been happening in the game. Good stuff.

Yes, me too - my enforced absence has actually helped the party to cohere very nicely. Better than anything I could have planned.

I think it's funny that the party seems to be collecting into two groups: The 'fighters' and the 'spellcasters.' Alwyn fits into the 'fighters' group and Elisile doesn't seem to know which group she belongs in yet, hehe.

True dat. Alwyn is a guy with a sword who just happens to also be able to cast spells. Once he gets his first levels of Ordained Champion, that'll become even clearer... :D

I love that PrC. It makes paladins obsolete.

Oh, and ithuriel, I can already tell that this relationship is going to be awesome.

So now that we're all committed to squashing goblins, I suppose we've reached an impasse until Aubrey gets back, yeah?

Okay. I'll be dungeonmaster. Fakey is attacked by a pitfiend. The rest of you are attacked by kobolds. No, not monks of the mockery. These are kobold peasants, with wooden pitchforks.

Yes! my save roll is 35, no problem! I'm gonna pretend I am a 4E "test sessionist" now. His attack on me enables my special once a day counter attack of Moon-over-my-hammy. I rip a large roasted pig out of a temporal distortion and ram it up the Pit Fiends arse. Pit Fiend automatically takes 3,812 damage, no save on the damage but it needs to save vs. trict..Tryc..ummm, the pork disease. DC 97.

Ooooh, unfortunately, pit fiends are immune to disease and this one (a special 3.75e pit fiend) has DR 4000/3.5e. Only attacks made with the 3.5 rules set can harm it.

The Exchange

As we are suddenly playing 4e, you are being attacked by 8,000 pit fiends, rather than just one. 'Cos that is just a lot more fun, according to WotC.

Whew! Good thing I have that other once a day action of Dismiss Fiends, which will Dismiss (no save) any Fiends that don't have ham up their buttocks that are within a 20 mile radius of me. 4E rocks!

Okay, but the one with ham up his butt smacks you with his greatsword. You take 1.24x10^3 damage.

4e promotes advanced mathematics as well as literacy since WotC really wanted to push the 'educational game' angle to lure parents into buying it for their kids.

Yeah - unfortunately I had to go to work while I was there, so I didn't really get out and about much, but the centre of Chicago seemed very nice, better than Manhattan. But I was glad to get home too - home is where the heart is.

Blasphemy! Ok ok. Chicago does have some nice use of green space in medians that ny could learn a thing or two from, but... really?

Yeah - not as claustrophibic with huge buildings built above narrow streets. And the natives were friendlier.

Grand Lodge

Yeah. I think it's like a local sport in ny to mess with tourists' heads or be mean to them. People like to tell each other to f- off a lot too, but it gets kind of fun and a little bit endearing after a while. : )

I scan a page from time to time called overheardinnewyork.com just for those little snips of conversation and lots of out of context goodness.

Dravite rocks! He won't be just charging into any ol' fight though, he can do tactics but these are just a few goblins. "Hit hard and fast and let the momentum of combat carry you through" is his motto for a few straggler goblins. Now a larger force might need some tactics.

I am realizing that with a party this large, some of the second liners might want to consider picking up long spears, or other reach weapons.

A Guisarme with the short haft feat would really rock...

And maybe some feats like improved disarm, improved trip, etc. if the pc can afford to spend the feats. It would be pretty cool for frontline to beat up the foes while 2nd line takes weapons from them, trips them, etc. all the while damaging the foes also. Nice.

Oh, and having spent a while looking over feats, I think I will be taking Shieldmate at level 3. As long as i have my shield, all allies adjacent to me get +1 AC...

Unfortunately, this means I won't be the guy with the two handed reach weapon...

Grand Lodge

I have a whip and intend to do some disarming with it. 15' reach. I'm not sure whether I'll put a feat into it though. Might just have to choose my disarm targets wisely so they get negative modifiers (small targets, wand users, etc) and buff to increase my chances.

Honestly, it would make the most sense if Alwyn was in the 'second row' with a reach weapon because he's also the healer. We don't want him up front getting beat on, but he needs to be close enough to the front-liners to heal them. If Lo'j can find a way to employ a shield and a reach weapon, that would be lovely. Maybe we should just seek to cast enlarge person on him all the time...

Alwyn would make a lot of sense. I don't think we will be in a place to keep anybody enlarged for a while

It will cost me a feat (two if i get improved shield mate) to give everyone around me the same AC as though they had a buckler (or shield) in addition to my other aura bonuses.

Another note, i can pick up the minor aura, art of war at level 3, which will give a +3 to disarm, trip, bull rush, and sunder... I was planning on motivate charisma to further enhance my rediculous diplomacy

---

I have to look and see what other passive buffing I can find (like the flanking feats from PHB2) If i find a lot, i may grab a level or 2 of fighter for bonus feats
