Just after the man drops to the ground and likely begins to pick himself up, a beautiful young lass in a deep purple dress comes out the front doors with Jellena and Delman trailing her. She speaks to the crowd. Any others of your party still inside the house likely follow as well.
She speaks to the crowd gathered and your group, "I am back, I know many of you are scared of me but there is no need. It was the rumors and lies that the mayor and his guards spoke to you. I will do my best to guide and protect you. To show you using actions more than words, watch."
She whistles and all the dogs behind the mayor's house begin to howl. Then there are other howls in the fog. The witch casts some kind of spell and four of the closest torches go out. Many torches on the fringes of the village go out as well. With great confidence she says, "Do not be afraid, the fog is my friend and it will be yours as well." The last few torches fall to the ground revealing wolves or at least pretty big canines grabbing the torches and making them fall. With the torches gone the fog begins to seep into the main road. Lights begin to fly over head zooming around, some stop to reveal very small glowing humanoids... some would call them sprites, pixies, or faeries.
Calmly she continues trying to reassure them, "You don't have to join the fog or the fey but they will protect us as I am your leader. What do you say?"

The crowd looks to Joe and their other saviors... looking to them for answers.
Einar "The Quickblade"
"Oh shi-"Feeling the air rush past him, Einar takes a moment to enjoy the adrenaline before the claws of his companions sink into his clothes. Well, at least the lady didn't lead to me immediately die by forming an Einar shaped splat on the ground.
"Thanks for keeping me from dying." Any further words are cut off as the trio impacts the ground. Tuck, and guard your head!
Using his hand as support, Einar lifts himself from the ground. "Where did..." his voice drops off as he notices the blades resting on the ground. Grabbing the weapons and giving them a testing twirl, Einar places both the blades in his right hand, and moves into the crowd. When in Rome I suppose.
As the woman speaks, Einar tries to assume what the context is, before the fog rolls in. Palming his blade into his other hand, Einar speaks up. "You do realize you are telling us to trust the fey, the legendary tricksters?"
Well, here goes nothing! I'm happy to be here, and I hope I haven't already derailed the plot train.
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis
Joe detects evil starting with the lady in purple, the crowd, then the newcomer.
GM Wolf
"No, I am asking you to trust me. I know many of you call me a witch or fey. I am a witch and I commune with the fey to gain my powers, I will come out and tell you the truth now. The mayor is dead and his lies and cruelty stopped because of our saviors. I thank you all for doing your part in putting an end to him and his ways. You asked for a leader and I offer up myself to serve you. To lead you. To give you a new way to live a better one. No one will oppress you, I will do everything I can to make us equal and a community that helps each other."
She seems to be able to move most of the gathered crowd to her side. Though with the newest person's suggestion it falters some.

She steps up... beside the woman in purple, in a confident voice she says, "You ask for direction... from us and I hear the words that she says and I believe her. I would suggest that you let her take the role of leadership. Then at the end of the month or 20 days, whichever comes first, if she does not prove to you what she says or is incompetent find another one that may be more worthy. Though give her a chance, it sounds like you know her at least."

Frank takes a leap knowing how Joe has been rolling and operating.
"Look, Joe here is a paladin. The Mayor was an evil man, that staff an evil object. The beautiful lady here not evil. So she uses magic. They mayor did as well. There are many witches and wizards in the world. That doesn't make them evil just different. She will protect and lead you, and as long as you respect the land her and the fey will make great allies."

"Hey you. Did you fall from the sky? You should come talk with us."
He motions the man over.

Artemis nods with the group's statements, before looking around at what the rolling fog brought in. With Frank motioning the newcomer over, he turns his attention towards him, eying him with a mixture of suspicion and curiosity.

With your groups direction the crowd seems to fully agree. With that settled they thank each of you again and head back to their homes or to the tavern.
The lady in purple graciously takes the thanks that a few folks come up with. Once most of the crowd disperses she turns to your group, "thank you for supporting me. I know it can be a stretch especially when change comes but I hope I can make the most out of it for the community. You may go into the mayor's house and collect a few things for your first reward, come again in several weeks and I should have a ritual of blessing when you return. I do need to find a few things first and a bit of time to prepare. I am lady Narisce and what were your names again?"
With the introductions done she offers, "The fog will take you across the river whenever you choose, just step foot onto the ferry and it will take you over when you are ready. If you need a place to stay you could stay here or come with me to my abode across the river. It might be a little snug but I could find you all places to lay your heads."
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis
The paladin's stomach gurgles loudly. With a slight grimace of embarrassment and general hunger, Joe asks, "Lady Narisce, I would like to take you up on your offer for lodging, but do you..have something to eat? I haven't eaten all day! And apparently resurrections can take a lot out of a person!"

Looking to Jellena, The big man asks, "Did you grab all of Bradlaw's personal loot? I'd like a share if possible."
Jellena Darkling

As the mayor gurgles his last breath a crimson glow surrounds his body and a spirit emerges of a cackling demon, then it dissipates.
Looking upon the body of the mayor you find quite a few nice things:
5 potions, a ring of keys, a dagger, a cloak, and the black staff with the red crystal on the top.Ash thanks them as well hugging her brother close to her, she also asks, "Is there any chance that we can go with you, we have nothing here and our parents are dead and the farm was put to the torch. We have no where to go."
Jellena takes this time to pilfur through the mayor's body first and then the five guards. Once she has taken off everything, laying most of the equipment in neat piles just in the mayor's house, she drags the bodies in as well. Then she pulls from her own robe a simple shawl that covers a body, repeating with each of the bodies, even the mayors. Then she points out all the items before arming Ash.
2 longswords,
3 halberds,
3 clubs,
1 mace,
3 daggers,
a bunch of fake/pitiful replication of holy symbols,
a pipe with 3 servings of tobacco,
a set of dice,
2 sets of playing cards,
2 canteens,
2 wineskins,
1 waterskin,
8 torches,
2 pairs of flint and steel,
5 rations
3 wide brimmed hats,
2 rain coats,
3 cp each (split by Jellena) and 1 sp each.
"I did grab all of his stuff and once I figure out what they are I will share them with the group. Joe can I get my money bag, purse back please. Oh and I have a ring for you, it will let you communicate with me and I will know how hurt you are and if you catch any diseases or other ailments. I will make one for everyone, I just need time and money." She says as she puts on a wide brimmed hat, a separate one from the list above.
She smiles at the lady and your group and politely asks, "Lady Narisce, would it be alright to search for anything that I deem necessary to help my adventuring?" Taking a 10, so 18 on diplomacy.
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis
Joe would like to claim the set of dice, 1 deck of playing cards, 1 canteen, 2 torches, a flint & steel, and if they fit: 1 wide-brimed hat and 1 rain coat. But the paladin is not greedy. If others claim them, Joe'll relent. It all goes to the party so it doesn't matter to much.
"I did grab all of his stuff and once I figure out what they are I will share them with the group. Joe can I get my money bag, purse back please. Oh and I have a ring for you, it will let you communicate with me and I will know how hurt you are and if you catch any diseases or other ailments. I will make one for everyone, I just need time and money."
Joe takes the ring with a bit of wonder and suspicion. He places the ring on his finger at which it instantly resizes to fit his finger. "Wow! Cool! Thanks Jellena! Do we communicate telepathically, or is it much simpler than that?"
If Joe can have a quick moment, the paladin asks Jellena away from the group to ask a question."Uh, Jellena", whispers Joe, "You weren't really gonna sleep with those people for money, were you? Not that I'm here to judge. I don't share the reason to stigmatize sex workers as other westerners do. I mean, there are parts of Earth that legalized prostitution for the health and safety of all involved."
Einar "The Quickblade"
Giving the group a raised eyebrow, Einar shrugs and moves towards the group, "I don't suppose you know what exactly is going on here?"
Gazing over the loot, the young man asks, "I don't suppose you'd give a poor misplaced youth some coinage for survival?"
GM Wolf
Lady Narisce looks to answer Joe first and responds with, "I am sure we can find something in the mayor's house... or I should say in my house... I will likely make it into a bunk house for those who were put under the oppressing hand of Bradlaw. Come, come we will talk and see if his chef was making anything." Then responding to Jellena nonchalantly, "take what you need, it will take forever to get items back to where they belong. It would be wonderful if you would help me clean the place, but I understand you likely want to be on your way as soon as possible."
Then getting to the kitchen she opens the door and finds an array of food prepared and on the center table and quite a few items half made on the stoves, one pan is just starting to bubble over and another is about to start a fire... If you have any ranks in cook and metaknowledge of a cook then you could easily take over from what was left behind and finish the meal.
Ash is still trailing the group with her brother in tow. She offers, "Well I could help you sort through all the items and even clean the house if my brother and I could have a room and food? Unless..." She once again looks at Jellena and others, likely reminding you of what she asked before.
Lady Narisce quickly responds, "Yes that would be great! I would even pay you for your help, I am sure there is coin and other items we could agree upon... unless you have other duties."
Jellena Darkling

I also forgot the 5 sets of leather armor. They need a bit of mending and cleaning... but it is armor!
She says rather sarcastically first, "No coins for you lad, but you stick with us and we will take care of you! Ha! As your attire tells your story is much like ours. Did you die on Earth and now in this world of Might and Magic? Let my friends pick from the items first and anything that is left over is yours. Lady Narisce, do you need the weapons for guards?"
Edit:She tells Joe how the rings work rather logically, "these simple golden rings allow for short-range communication between the wearers. As long as the wearers are within 1 mile of one another, they can communicate by whispering, causing the other ring to whisper the words to the recipient. Words spoken into or recited by a communique ring can be heard by nearby creatures if the wearer speaks too loudly. A communique ring transmits sound only while worn, and a wearer can remove the ring if she needs to be silent. Only magical silence or distance will block this communication, and wearers can speak through walls and other obstructions normally. The rings pick up only sound directly spoken into them by the wearer with the intent to transmit, not ambient sounds or the voices of other creatures."
She quiets down to respond to the more sensitive conversation, "No, I was not going to sleep with any of them. I saw a loop hole and was waiting for you to pay the halfling and come up... pay with the coins in my purse! Also the price I put down, I didn't think any of them would be able to pay. Even the legalized prostituion is well... I lived it and really don't want to go back."
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis
I also forgot the 5 sets of leather armor. They need a bit of mending and cleaning... but it is armor!
Mending I can do!
Edit: After listening to Jellena's story, Joe quietly nods and places his hand on Jellena's shoulder for support, then both paladin and priest return to the group.Joe jumps in the kitchen and does his best to salvage a meal from what's left.
"Ash! Our group can't offer you and your brother much other than protection and company, but if you truly wish to start anew, it's alright by me if you join us!" The paladin barks from the active kitchen.

Frank eyes the loot.
"I will take a dagger and a waterskin. Whatever we don't need we can sell when we get to a city."
Once inside Frank jumps in to help Joe with the meal.
"I grill a lot for parties on the fourth of July, New Years. My wife and I entertained a lot, she did most of the cooking but I'm not bad at cooking what I like anyways."
Wis Check cooking: 1d20 ⇒ 20 Seems this meal is going to be good :)
Frank smiles as Joe makes the offer to the kids.
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis
Joe and Frank split the kitchen between themselves, often bumping into each other trying to get ingredients, pans, or untensils.
"As an auditor, I had to also get breakfast ready for the guests in the morning. At peak summer times, that was nearly 250 people!"
Thus I feel justified to use my Profession (innkeeper) skill for this check.
Profession (innkeeper): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
The paladin's stomach audibly rumbles again. "We're gonna eat like Kings!"
GM Wolf
Yes, using Innkeeper for cooking works well, it easily doubles as profession cook too!
They cook up a great meal, likely better than what most in the village have ever eaten. You get to choose what you make... have fun and describe the dishes for us!"
Lady Narisce easily sees the conflict between choosing her or the saviors of the village and she offers up a solution, 'You may want to make other choices but listen to this solution, Ash and her brother stay with me so I can get the boy healed. Ash will help me organize and clean the house earning her some coin and any gear she might need for the future. Then when you return she can leave with you or decide at that point."
Ash looks to your group, once again another relying on you to make a decision for them.
Lady Narisce oohs and ahhs at the smells coming from the kitchen as she begins to clean and organize, "Boyos that food smells delicious! I had better go work on clearing an area on this table so we can all eat together... come come, Delman, Ash, Artemis come help me move these bigs items over to the den across the way and we can put... no that crate is full too... Aaahh take it to the other room!" The last sentence she says in exasperation at the amount of stuff.
Jellena Darkling

Jellena continues to do the last rites for the guards and mayor, double checking she looks for any wedding rings or other signs of marriage. She then leaves the bodies in the den still covered. She says, "I am going to ask around to see if anyone is related to the guards in town... and then get those bodies in the ground, or give them to the dogs if no one claims them. If the food is done before I come back do start without me, I should be back before you are all done if nothing else."
She then heads out... Taking a 10 on diplomacy gives me an 18 to gather information.
Delman Fredrel Vortani III

He seems to be at a loss about cooking and leaves the kitchen to Frank and Joe, glad that others have the skills he is missing. He begins moving the lighter items over to the den at the Lady's prompts. Humming to himself as he works, his familiar jumps out and beings to hunt mice that she saw.
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis
On Joe's side of the kitchen, the paladin was able to create a hearty goulash, freshly-cut beans, and finish cooking a roast beef that was in the oven. Sweaty, bloody, and starving, Joe serves all he can to others, leaving a medium plate of everything for himself. After wolfing down the dinner in about 5 minutes, the paladin begins cutting and buttering slices of bread to 'fill in the gaps'.
Listening to Lady Narisce proposal to Ash and her brother, Joe nods to the former waitress, giving a consent to whatever she decides for her small family.
Artemis Eule
Sorry for the latish post, just got home.
Artemis takes a look at the assorted loot, taking a rain coat, wide brimmed hat, playing cards and a canteen, "I'll take this..." Wanting to relax after dinner, Artemis proceeds to help Delman carry the stuff over to the other room bit by bit, before heading over and wolfing down about a medium plate in roughly the same time as Joe.
GM Wolf
Jellena you scour through the village rather quickly gathering that there is family of the dead still in the village. The first two is a wife and son who both spit on you. Then you find a father of one of the guards who comes with you to see his son to the grave, crying, he was hoping his son would be one of the ones taken by the fog. You find a younger sister to one of them though she has been taken in by another family and is still a child.
Jellena Darkling
|
Einar since you are not involved...
She smiles and lets you see a bit of her cleavage as she bends down a little, "Einar would you care to join me... I shouldn't be out alone." She flutters her eyelashes at you.
Waiting on response from the woman and child, other actions might be needed.
Jellena turns on her lightsaber, easily dodging and blocking the attacks from the child, "By the Mistress of Death, I mark you as dead and not deserving life!" With that she strikes out and lops off the woman's head and swings down slicing the youth in half
putting them both out of this existence. She pulls two more shrouds from her robe and collects their bodies before she goes and looks for the other surviving family members of the nearly deceased.
Helping the elderly man if he needs, she guides him to the mayor's house, taking him into the den to make sure that it is his son. The group is eating at this time. You see Jellena and an elderly man enter the den and then hear his cry of rage and sobbing. Once he gets a hold of himself Jellena lifts the shroud and the body is gone, come we will dig his grave then put the shroud within and he will be laid to rest. She grabs two shovels and leads the man back out the front door. Around the house and well past the dogs she gives the old man a shovel and begins digging herself. She makes sure the grave is five feet deep before putting the shroud down. Lifting it and revealing his son once more. She kisses his forehead and offer a black rose to the father. "I will fill it. You, go home or the tavern and grieve." She instructs once again with a 18 on diplomacy.
Once the man leaves she begins digging while still in the grave covering the fallen guard and making a new grave adjacent to the first. Then comes back into the house dirty and sweaty. She passes the dinner table and goes looking for the kitchen. She takes a few bites of what is left in the kitchen before going to the den. Picking up the shrouds and the corpses at the same time, she goes back to her new graveyard. Laying the guard with the younger sister in the other proper grave with a kiss and another black rose, she fills it. Then legs the dogs feast on the other bodies. She looks at the big black fluffy dog and nods to it thinking to herself, "You are going to be my pet."
She then looks for a bath... the only one that is not covered in lots of stuff is in Bradlaw's bedchambers. She cleans it out first and then stokes up the fire, warming up water, that she produces from her orisons. Once it is full she disrobes and soaks, as it cools she then begins to clean. Before getting out to find the soap she thinks to herself, 'I am sure there is soap up here somewhere.

Frank uses whats available and helps whip up a few things. He boils off the potatoes, drains them and starts mashing them up with butter and cream and a little cheese. He drains off the pan drippings from the roast and mixes it with a little flour and cream to make a gravy for the potatoes and roast. Finally he finely chops up a bunch of beef. He gets the pan searing hot with a bit of butter and lard he fry's up the chopped steak with peppers. Layers some cheese over a portion, before splitting a roll and shoveling it all in.
"I like my cheese steak with provolone and cheese whiz but this cheese will do. A bit of mayo would be nice but I'm not trying to emulsify egg whites and oil by hand."
I should probably have a rank in cooking as I do cook way more than I thought about and my wife and I do watch a lot of food network. Goodeats was a favorite. I like chopped now :) GM if your cool I will replace K. Local with profession cook as I don't have knowledge of your world as it's a homebrew :)
Einar "The Quickblade"
Trailing behind the party as they enter the house, Einar maintains his awkward silence as he watches the group go about their business. "So, these will be the only people who know of home.
Hearing his name, the young man turns to see Jellena displaying a bit of his cleavage. Raising an eyebrow at the provocative action, Einar gives a hesitant nod before letting himself be led outside. "Excuse me, what is your name?"
Einar watches as the woman leads the old man to the corpse of his son inside the house. Such dichotomy with her actions. I better keep a close eye on her. Feeling the growl of his stomach, because apparently dying is hungry work, he takes a plate from the older man with a quiet, "Thanks."
Taking a space against the wall, Einar quietly eats his food, watching the action around him.
Sorry, apparently Paizo ate my last post. I promise I'm not always so tardy XD."

Jellena claims the mayor’s bed chamber. There are other rooms to sleep in if you want. The Lady will leave and take the ferry to sleep in her own home. Ash and her brother sleep in the den. Where do the rest of you sleep?
Ash and her brother dig greedily into the food filling their stomachs just a bit too much. They thank Frank and Joe for the wonderful meal as does the Lady. Ash offers to clean the dishes. The Lady takes the brother into the den to begin his treatment.
Everyone can easily find a bed of some sort in the big house. The night passes with no other problems. The morning comes with a nice bright clear sky.

”Ohhh that meal was delicioso! Thank you! I will help clean the dishes too but there is no rush. I have to let it all rest and settle.” He happily says sitting back in his seat hitting a pile of stuff and it tumbles to the floor. He shrugs at it just resting and not caring.
He double checks that the doors of the house are secure after the Lady leaves. He finds some blankets and makes a nest under the table that we ate at. Before going to bed he helps with the dishes and all the pots and pans in the kitchen.
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis
Joe quietly shakes his head at Jellena's brazen claim to the best bed in the house, possible the village. After the meal, Joe and Excalibur rest in an overstuffed chair as Ash and her brother graciously do the dishes. Feeling good about not overeating, despite his relative hunger, the paladin lays the magic sword over his lap and dozes, before heading up to an unclaimed bedroom for sleep.
"Excalibur", Joe asked the legendary weapon, "Please do me a favor and wake me up as dawn brakes. I want us to start a regime of morning exercise and training. This near mid-40 year old body needs to get into proper fighting shape!"

Frank allows the others to clean up after the meal. He takes note of Einar and approaches him before going off to bed.
"So we all died and ended up here at the hand of a celestial being of sorts. We assume a god. From what we can tell this land is much like a video game RPG. None of us have been here long. Only a couple days now. If you have any questions feel free to ask, we may not have an answer but we can all find one together perhaps. Get some rest."
He looks to the others.
"Goodnight all." He wonders off to find a bed to sleep in.

Placing his dishes in the sink, Einar stares at the blades in his hands, running his thumb over the dragon head cross guard. I wonder if they're stuck like this, or if they only want to appear to me? Idly rolling the blades around his thumb, Einar realizes he needs a way to secure the blades to his person. Maybe there is sheathes I can repurpose for the time being.
Drawn out of his engineering stupor by Frank, the youth nods along to the man's word. "Definitely some fantasy universe rather than ours. I have a few questions, but they can wait until morning." Giving a small wave as he heads to bed, Einar takes care to push something of weight against the door, paranoia winning over good manners. The youth falls atop the bed and drifts to sleep slowly.
Rising as the light strikes his face, the youth grumbles as he wakes. Giving a glance to his clothes, and the blades still beside him, Einar sighs. "And here I was hoping to just have to deal with class." Unblocking his door, Einar makes his way downstairs in relative silence. Noticing the man asleep underneath the table, the young man pauses, unsure whether to wake him or allow him further rest.
I'm fine keeping it, I don't know if Einar would react fast enough to stop it, and it allows for an interesting roleplay.

Jolting at the sudden appearence of the bandolier, Einar chuckles quietly. "Makes about as much sense as anything else." Thanking the universe he bought a thinner belt, the youth wove the bandolier through his belt loops, the loose and empty scabbards bouncing against his thighs.
Staring at the dragons as they return his confused stare, he idly runs his hand through his hair. "Should have guessed you were hungry. So..." the newly reborn swordsman points to the more fishlike of the two, a dragon the color of seawater. "If you can understand me, what's your name?" Turning to the other dragon, a small emerald beast, the boy smiles. "Same for you. Since you're stuck with me the name is Einar."

Artemis yawns as he wakes up, heading towards the kitchen as he hears the sounds of cooking coming from it. "Say, what are we having for breakfast Frank, just eggs?" looking at Einar for a few and nodding, knowing he could satisfy his curiosity on the road if it came to that.
Yeah, just let us know because Artemis comes down in the middle of Frank's cooking, intruding on you before hand.
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis
Excalibur wakes Joe up at daybreak. Both paladin and magic sword creep quietly out of the manor to exercise and practice sword techniques about 200 feet away from the former mayor's domicile.
Joe is working toward the Quick draw feat, so he also practices his quick draw of Excalibur as well.

Sighing, Joe takes Excalibur and carefully uses the sword to skin the pillow at the seams, pull out it's innards and dump them in a nearby wastebasket. "Hopefully no one will mind..or notice", whispered the paladin to himself and his sword. "Unless we find anything better, it's a spit shine for you."
"You wouldn't dare! Find a proper metal polish or some kind of oil!" The sword exclaims!
Bazizz
Staring at the dragons as they return his confused stare, he idly runs his hand through his hair. "Should have guessed you were hungry. So..." the newly reborn swordsman points to the more fishlike of the two, a dragon the color of seawater. "If you can understand me, what's your name?" Turning to the other dragon, a small emerald beast, the boy smiles. "Same for you. Since you're stuck with me the name is Einar."
"Greetings Einar, I am Bazizz, psuedodragon at your service... though I would prefer if you serve us!" He indicates pointing at the food. When others enter the kitchen he quickly finds himself on Einar's shoulder or hiding.
