Apologies folks- I've been practicing my allergic-to-blood-pressure-medicine skills. The new prescription should help and I'll be back soon. Until then, Patrick please npc me. Billy-Ray is fairly simple- just smash things, look suprised when something hurts you, and miss-spell everything you say. Thanks.

Rd 2 initiatives:
18 E.V.A [shooting xbow]
17 Chiro [flying bat kick]
17 Fungus Bat swarm [sucking blood]
16 Coca Cola [Letting Agnew give a speech]
15 Billy Ray [swing and a miss]
14 Roach [cleaving the swarm]
On to Rd three! Post actions please.
The bats swirl around Billy Ray, Chiro and Roach like an animated cocoon of razor-sharp fungus scraps. Chiro is especially nauseated as the small forms remind him of young members of his family, almost as if he was surrounded by fungus-covered toddlers shreiking wildly and biting him.

Coca Cola |

Coca begins freaking out, pulling the trigger as quickly and sending lead spewing every which way, and certainly missing anything Chiropteran (except Chiro).
[double tap] Agnew, damage: (1d20 4=6, 3d6=15)
"Fnck I hate bats!"
"Well, you're ok, Chiro... you know what I mean, right!?"

Rd 3 initiatives:
18 E.V.A [restocking xbow & shrieking]
17 Chiro [flying bat kick]
17 Fungus Bat swarm [sucking blood]
16 Coca Cola [Letting Agnew spew some hatefull rhetoric]
15 Billy Ray [swinging at bats]
14 Roach [cleaving the swarm]
The bats continue their rampage. Billy Ray has a bit more luck with his Tendarizer this swing:
Several more bats are brought down by the blue-skinned warrior's swing. Chiro kicks a few more of the monstrosities out of the air as well. Roach cleaves a few more as well. Coca begins to spray lead at the swarm, but his shots go wide. E.V.A. resumes her shrieking, confusing the few bats left.
Everyone affected by bats take 2 damage. Also roll a Fort save (again ..yes I know) Then it is on to rd four!

Coca Cola |

"Yous c0cksnckers!"
[double tap] Agnew, damage: (1d20 4=18, 3d6=10)
Coca spits a few rounds into the fierce fluttering fungi.

Mutant Monkey |

The damage done finally clears the last few fungal bats out of the night air. The stink of cordite still lingers from Roach's grenade as the group tends to its wounds.
As they regain their equilibrium, they look over at the tunnel the bats emrged from. It looks impressively ancient, almost hand carved, as if it came from the hazy times before the Golden Age. A semicircle 20 feet wide and 20 feet high, it bores into the mountain's side like a bullet wound. The party can see that the footsteps they have been folowing lead straight into the darkened hole. Fungus strands crisscross the tunnel entrance like large mutant spiderwebs.
Post up intentions.

Mutant Monkey |

Chiro uses his echolocation to scan the beginning of the tunnel. The fungus strands interfere with his senses, so he goes just inside. He chirps and receives a picture of a straight tunnel 20 feet wide with no obstructions as far as his sonic chirp travels.

Mutant Monkey |

Thanks for your patience folks. FYI posting will most likely be spotty this upcoming week.
The party advances into the dark tunnel. Roach's flashlight sends out a beam of light as he cranks it, the whir whir sound echoing off the tunnel's walls.
The light illuminates a kaliedoscope of fungal growths that sprout from every surface of the tunnel, including the curved ceiling. Nauseating colors in purple and green war with blood red and ocherous yellow in the crooked piles of fungus.
The floor of the tunnel is carpeted in a moss-like substance, which sends up puffs of choking spores with every step.
DC8 Fort check or begin to cough uncontrollably
The footsteps of the Twitchy Man and his companions lead further in.
I will assume you are travelling further in if I get no posts to the contrary. If you have an action you wish to perform before heading further in, now is the time to post it.

Mutant Monkey |

Still need a Fort check from some of y'all
The group heads into the fungus-strewn tunnel. The sound of dripping water echoes softly as they head further in. The light from Roach's flashlight writhes with spores and dust.
The party advances slowly, travelling close to a mile into the dank tunnel. They come to a side passage, where the tracks they have been following seem to lead. A nauseating shlorp-schlorp sound comes to their ears as they gaze down the side passage. Roach swings his light over and a nightmare is revealed in the wavering light.
A translucent pile of jelly moves forward to their position. pseudopods of protoplasm wriggle spastically as it advances, making the hideous toothless-man-enjoying-soup sound. A darker mass is contained within the jellied blob. The thin light of Roach's flashlight picks out a yellowing human skull floating in the beast's center.
Roll initiative, will post up map later today if able.

24 E.V.A
23 Chiro
22 Coca Cola
21 Billy Ray
20 Roach
14 Jelly mutant
Coca hums the greande down the corridor. The explosive device hits the jelly beast and gets sucked into its protoplasmic interior.
Roll me some damage puhleeze. Give a +4 to the total for the circumstance (since it sucked the grenade inside itself)

Roach |

"Um... D'y'all think the skull in there actually serves any purpose? Only one way to find out, I guess..." Roach takes careful aim at the head floating in the mass of slime before pulling the trigger.
Firing the revolver at the slimeball. Attack roll 12+4=AC 16, damage 13.

I actually don't know the damage these babies do, so I'll use MSRD frag grenade rules.... that's why I didn't post it.
That's fine. They are frag grenades for damage.
Coca's frag grenade goes off with a muffled **WHUMP** inside the gelatinous horror and vaporizes part of the beast. gallons of ooze splatter out, hitting the group with a fine mist of liquid. Coca dives behind Billy Ray, missing the worst of the spatter. E.V.A.'s crackling shield of force keeps the spray off her as well.
Chiro and Roach open up, their bullets striking deep into the wounded jelly's interior. [/i]
Everyone except E.V.A.:

Mutant Monkey |

Coca feels his mind stutter as the piercing wail penetrates his brain.
Coca:
The gelatinous horror twitches as ribbons of thick clear liquid ooze from the rents the grenade and bullets have put into it. It advances, and the group sees the skull inside it much clearer. The skull trails a rat's nest of dark filaments into the depths of the gelatin body. More filaments sprout from the yellow skull's eye sockets, ending in half a dozen baby-blue-irised eyeballs that ring the skull like a grotesque crown.
I gotta figure out what BR's gonna do. Cro, any word on Niel? Is he OK?

The DMPC |

Coca flops bonelessly to the ground, twitching slightly in the fungus.
Billy Ray twitches a bit from the screaming, then his craggy blue face grimaces.
"'bout had enuf of screaming jelly cakes."
Billy Ray pulls the pin on a frag grenade and tosses it towards the approaching monstrosity
Will save: 1d20=19, Range ATK: 1d20+5=17, Frag grenade Dam: 4d6=14
Billy Ray's grenade hits the gelatinous skull beast and explodes, the dull boom loud in everyone's ears. More chunks of jelly come flying out of the tunnel and the mental screaming noise rises in pitch, then cuts out.
The blob halts, twitching and weeping from a dozen wounds. It slowly starts to disintegrate, the clear liquid that made up its body slowly oozing out into a puddle of noisome goo. The skull inside is revealed, its filaments feebly twitching and eyestalks vibrating as they wither.

Mutant Monkey |

The tunnel quiets down after the ooze horror liquefies. Coca regains mobility, brushing fungus and specks of noisome jelly off himself. Roach pokes the filamented skull which feebly twitches like an octopus stranded on the beach. The filaments finally go limp.
The side tunnel that the jelly skull monster came out of seems to be some sort of maintenance shaft. The group can see there had once been some sort of doors affixed to the beginning, but someone has ripped them off their hinges and cast them further down the main tunnel.
The tracks they have been following continue on into the side tunnel. There is a coating of the mossy fungus everywhere, and it seems to cover several large lumps on the floor. There is a barely-legible sign on the wall:
Ancient Anglish:
The main tunnel continues into the darkness.
