WOOT! 500 mark!

The group starts to walk quietly into the dark fungus-covered forest. Coca points out the remnants of the mass transit line. As they head further in another clue resolves itself. Off the embankment about a quarter mile in is a crumpled railcar. It seems quiet, and the rusting on it seems to argue that it has been here for quite some time.

Anyone who has knowledge of the Golden Times can try to ID it

The crumpled car seems to be covered in a tent of fungal growth. The party can see that the fungal infection is increasing all around as they go farther into the vale.

Actions?

I'm having a flashback to Stephen King's Dark Tower series.

E.V.A stares at the ruined railcar.

K(tech): 1d20+6=22

"This is an example of a late-model Maglev train, most likely AS controlled. The car's alloys are space-fabricated lattice crystal steel."

Coca is going to put his handkerchief over his mouth just in case it helps if this stuff blows spores.

He will approach the train down any visible paths, warily, with Agnew draw and ready. He takes the time to check the path carefully for traps.

Can't get IC.

The car is just off the faint embankment lines. There are ample paths to it, and just a few gelid-looking fungal growths on the ground. The car itself has sheets of the tree Spanish-Moss fungus shrouding it. Coca can spot in the thick leaf mold by the car several whitish items. They resolve into old bones.

Male Human Tough hero 3/ Thrasher 2

"Seems like we've found the heart of the infestation." Roach stops and ties a cloth over his mouth and nose to keep spores out of his lungs. "Did anyone bring a flamethrower? I think I forgot mine."

Keeping an eye out for "twitchy" and looking for tracks.

Survival (+2 tracking) +13, 1d20 13=16

Copies Roach's use of cloth. Blanches at his suggestion of using Fire as a weapon.

Chiro does spot some tracks in the thick leaf mold, but they stay by the embankment and go nowhere near the railcar. They rather lead further inot the vale. The bones by the railcar look rather old and pitted, as if they have been there a while. The railcar seems totally quiet and dead.

"Lets try by the embankment guys, there's some fresh tracks."

Moseys over toward Chiro.

The tracks by the embankment are fresh. They are similar to the ones the group followed by the river. They lead further into the fungal forest.

Spot rolls please from all

Roach and Coca:

Spoiler:
Further in as you look at the tracks you see some odd-looking fungus, colored a weird pinky/purple. Out of the corner of your eye, you see one of the fungus' long ropy roots twitch

"It's moving."

<Coca points toward the animate strands.>

Coca will ready his hunting knife.

"Hurnf??"

looks about dimly

Male Human Tough hero 3/ Thrasher 2

"That purple watzit over there, biggun." Roach stows the AK and pulls out his meat cleaver and his big-bore revolver. "These seem more appropriate for this kind of opposition."

The purple bulbous plants begin to sway as you near, their roots detaching from the ground and waving about.

Having issues tonight. Please post initiative roll and course of action, will update as I can.

Male Human Tough hero 3/ Thrasher 2

I assume the puple onion-things are our twitchy tentacled opponents? For some reason I didn't think there were many of them...

Roach gingerly approaches one of the flailing plants, aiming his revolver.

Initiative base roll 13. I move forward to P7.

group initiative right? I am going after i-9 with a burst from my AK-47. Gotta see if the old gun can wound these things.

"Wish i had brought Creeper, he loves stomping other plants. Dominant herd thing I guess."

Just in case; AK-47 (ranged +6 to hit) 1d20 6=24 and damage 2d8 = 1d8=1+ 1d8=7 for a total of 8

Move forward to O11, throw grenade at Target in F11. If they move first, please adjust target to a Shroom near other Shrooms. Grenade = 4d6 dam, 20' rad. Grenade +5 to hit, range increment 40'.
to hit:1d20+5=10 dam:4d6=15

"Yee-Ha!"

Hey all ..long day, will update probably tomorrow evening, if things go OK. Sorry for the delay

Initiatives:
EVA 18
Chiro 17
Coca 16
Billy Ray 15
Roach 14
Fungus 7

Roach approaches warily, keeping his revolver at the ready. The creatures are moving slowly, ripping small feeder roots from the ground and using them to drag themselves along.

Chiro’s Ak-47 lets loose a burst of bullets, hitting one of the tentacle horrors in its center mass. Gouts of noisome neon goo erupt out of its farther side.

Billy Ray whoops and throws a grenade at the purple fungus creatures. He scores a direct hit, the explosion tossing the creatures about and causing them to emit a high-pitched screeching. The four on the left side: e7, e13, f11 and i9 are affected. The creature i9 that Chiro had wounded crumples and falls apart, a blue-purple liquid gushing from multiple holes in its slimy hide.

E.V.A. aims her crossbow and fires, striking one of the wounded fungi . The bolt sinks deep into the creature, and a stream of liquid spurts from the hole. The creature deflates slowly, stopping in its tracks.

The rest of the fungi shreik and begin to move forward to your position.

We'll wait for Nixon to make a speech, then we can roll the fungo. Roach if you want to add to the melee, feel free.

>>UPDATED MAP<<

Check my stuff and make sure its all OK. I am operating on low sleep ATM

I guess I could have fired at the end of the move. Attack roll 12+4=AC 16 against the closest fungoid thingoid. If that hits, it gets to soak up 12 points of damage. Huzzah for big handguns!

Roach's bullet ventillates one of the fungus creatures wounded by Billy Ray's grenade, causing more noxious liquid to pour from it front and back. It begins to howl and deflate like a pierced waterskin.

e7 dead

I will move to R-12 and shoot at I-18. AK-47 still rocks!

AK-47 ranged attack +6 1d20 6=12 Damage 2d8 2d8=11

Sorry bout that.

When the first rounds went off coca pulled out Nixon and manifested prescience.

This round he shoots the purple thing up around d13:

Nixon, damage: (1d20 8=24, 2d12=22)

"Boomshakalaka"

Easy there killer. We'll hold that for next round :)

Nixon's barrel barks and the last gelid monster that Billy Ray injured disappears in a haze of purple fungus bits and blue goo.

d13 dead

OK will update later today, have a few things to get done beforehand.

Nixon, damage: (1d20 8=24, 2d12=22)

"Boomshakalaka"

"Amen ta dat!"

>>UPDATED MAP<<

The remaining three purple fungus monsters begin to move forward. The party can hear an odd popping sound from their position. Suddenly, small oval pods begin to descend from above.

Billy Ray: 1d20+3=15, E.V.A. 1d20+3=20, Coca 1d20+3=8

The quivering jelly pods smack into E.V.A. and Billy Ray. One aimed towrds Coca hits a nearby mushroom, which begins to smoke.

E.V.A. 2d6+4=8, Billy Ray: 2d6+4=15

The purplish jelly pods spread out like dropped pudding on E.V.A. and Billy Ray. Billy Ray feels a burning sensation as his skin begins to smoke. It's not fire, but a acid burning feeling. It stings like all get out. E.V.A. twitches as the jelly burns through her clothing and torso.

You guys' turn

Male Human Tough hero 3/ Thrasher 2

This leaves the one at F11, and the three at the other side of the trail, right?

Emboldened by the group's intial success, Roach moves further forward, squeezing off another round.

Move to J7, firing at the 'shroom in F11. Attack roll 11+4=AC 15, damage 9.

Actually EVA took out f11 with a crossbow attack. I will put your attack on the other side on n16. If you need to know which are dead look on the map and check the red 'splat' marks.

Roach fires his gun into one of the howling fungus horrors. The bullet exits the creature, leaving a neon blue spatter painted on a nearby tree.

Male Human Tough hero 3/ Thrasher 2

Aha! I didn't even notice the red bloodstains. I'll be more observant in the future.

Oh no worries! Did you want to move to a different square in light of the changed situation?

E.V.A. fires her crossbow at the advancing fungi, ignoring her smoking midsection.

1d20+5=11, 1d10=1

The crossbow bolt whickers by one of the fungi, barely missing them.

"1010101 0010010 01010101 0101000101"

If the group didn't know any better they would swear E.V.A was cursing in binary.

Sure! Put me in L10 instead.

"Your arse is on fire Billy Ray! I got some water here after I do some pruning."

Move to P-11, Shoot at K-17 using my previous numbers? or roll again? Sorry, trigger happy bat brain :)

That works, we'll use your old numbers

Chiro's AK-47 barks its distinctive flat harsh sound and rips one of the fungus fiends across a tentacle. The fungus keens as a long purple rope flies off its trunk and lands twitching in a pool of gore.

>>UPDATED MAP<<

"Awarrh!!"

Billy-Ray roars in rage, not liking the touch of acid. Red fills his sight as he draws a second grenade, throwing it at the center Fungus.

to hit: 1d20+5=15
dam: 4d6=18
