Okay, leaving cantrips empty seems silly, but I'm gonna start leaving other slots empty; an unseen servant would've solved this as well. They last hours. Ugh. I don't often play wizards; usually I'm spontaneous casters or more often sneaks.

It would die from the pressure after the first minute (it can only take 6 damage before dissipating, and gets no save). You could tie some cloth really tightly around it?

Or prepare Mending in a 1st level spell slot if you have any of those free.

Nope. All I have is the bound item slot. I'm not blowing that on a cantrip. I didn't even want to waste it on a first. I'll risk looking for the aluded to back door. These people don't know Amanorn can do that.


So, onward then? I'm going to say you spent another round dithering, and then it will take you 3 rounds to cover the 100 feet, getting you there just under the time required before *squish*.

Darius raises a brow, " Now Zin, you are being awfully intimate with Amanorn as of late, I'd like it if you could keep your hands off of him unless you need cauterize his wounds. I'm sure you were frustrated in there without the wondrous bodily contact the REST of us clearly gave. " A smirk played upon his maw as Darius closed an eye.

"All joking aside, Queen Drama, if you're quite done? I've got a prime selection of spells remaining, Darius, and a keen frustration to unleash them on a target. Preferably a fiery one, as indicated previously, although for significantly different though tangentially related reasons."

He groans and takes off his boots, the removes and wrings out his socks.

"I hate wet socks. Barefoot for sure, unless our firebug has a slow heat spell I can dry these with? Or is practical, non-destructive applications of magic beyond you? Mph...wonder if prestidigitation will do it..."

His usual silly demeanor is a little off. Clearly, he didn't like being slapped. Go figure.

"Alright, folks. Focus. This is probably the most dangerous place any of us have ever been."

Sledge cracks his neck.


Once you get Zin out and have a chance to look around, you begin to notice some finer details of the chamber.

While made of black and slimy stone, the cave bears signs that it used to be a much nicer affair, covered in intricate carvings that are half-buried under the grime. Making out the details is hard, but they appear to mostly be tableaus of underwater life, waves and sea life of various kinds.

A fishy smell permeates the room, overpowering all other scents.

Amanorn looks at his now dry socks.

"Fair enough. So, now that we see this place has a motif, what do you think we're dealing with? Gillman? Merfolk? Undies? Ye Gods, I hope not Aboleth! The Skum don't seem the type to run things."

He pops his socks and boots back on and looks around. "You know, I could see restoring this place as a nice quiet spot to read, research, and take semi-willing women who have been paid enough to remove the word semi from their vocabulary. The smell is awful, though. A stinking cloud would be an improvement."
