"Well, it's good to know that you're finally developing a sense of self-preservation, albeit slowly."
He looks out his window. "It seems Zin and Darius spent the night with Doctor Croon. I assume they're getting along, since I don't see a pillar of smoke where his house should be. Perhaps they've even convinced him to loan us his sub-aqueous vehicle."
Amanorn Preyedan
"Alright, let's grab the world's only half-dwarf and go find them."
He cups his hands around his mouth and yells to the other end of the hall, "Yo, Sledge, breakfast booze on me on the way to the doc's house!"
Jones Shei'lac
"Facial hair aside, I would argue he's half-giant based on his size."
Darius Ral'algul
Darius in the morning uses Create water to have fresh water to distill into coffee when he first hers tell of the professor or the resident Fire-Wielder awaking. He looks up periodically from what looks like a heavier Tome which the Hunter holds with one hand while minding the Brew with the other, a pair of small reading glasses affixed to his nose.
Samuel Sledge
"S'good. Better when you make it with whiskey, but it's okay with water."
Samuel Sledge
Does it smell like a Sasquatch or is he insulting us?
Darius Ral'algul
Darius chuckled and looked to Sledge slowly before back to the prof. " The Hobo of the murder variety. The person is mostly harmless, the smell not so much. You will get used to it.. in tight spaces. "
He taps a cup lightly while getting prepared for a drink, " So, is it possible for you to explain this device you spoke of? "
Jones Shei'lac
"Yes, that's a rather important detail," Jones mumbles, as he teleports into the room along with Sledge.
Jones Shei'lac
"And I assume you will need to be the pilot?"
Amanorn Preyedan
Sundakan
Jones: "I don't NEED to be. You can take it yourself, it will be a good test to see if the controls are comprehensible to more than just myself."
"Having side conversations is rude."
"My subaqueous vehicle would hardly be worth anything if it 'sprung a leak'. But if you don't trust it, feel free to swim yourself. I'm assuming you have a way to deal with the crushing pressure of the deep waters?"
Jones Shei'lac
"I see no reason to doubt your handiwork, Doctor, and I would be more than happy to help test your vehicle's usability!"
Jones chuckles. "And Amanorn, you should try to find a language that isn't widely shared among wizards and scholars."
Darius Ral'algul
" Well then just in case we should prep for the worse. Doctor, once again I thank you for housing our resident... eccentric and myself last night. I cannot express my gratitude for the vessel either. " Darius takes a sip of the coffee his eyes the same strong stare, nary a presence of Fatigue.
" I assume its location hidden? Or Perhaps you will reveal such to us? "
Samuel Sledge
"Well, shall we, then?"
Jones Shei'lac
"There is a hidden tunnel in Undiomede House that leads into the lake. It's a fairly long walk, but we'll treat your vessel with care."
Darius Ral'algul
" We have an alternative way through. It likely being under the Tern Rocks, Professor. That should give plenty of breathing room. "
Amanorn Preyedan
Amanorn grumbles to himself. "I'm not sitting in anyone's lap, and none of you are sitting in mine. Bloody tight spaces...." He seems really annoyed, but follows along anyway. "I hate tight spaces." The very fact he made no double entendre about that shows he's serious.
Jones Shei'lac
"We've already established that there are enough seats for everyone."
"Hm...would you care to be the pilot? Perhaps you will feel less claustrophobic in front of the viewport."
Sundakan
Since nobody seems interested in this line of conversation any more, moving on.
You arrive at the Quay, and Croon securely anchors his wagon to the ground.
Using a small crane built into it, he lifts the submersible onto the Isinglass, and you finally get a prper look at the fish-like vehicle.
He starts sailing the boat to Tern Rocks. During the 5 mile trip, you catch a glimpse of matted hair off in the distance, and even more tentacles, but they swiftly disappear again.
He maneuvers around the south side of the rocks, where a corpse lays, chained t them. The bottom half of his body is missing.
"Well, here we are! I've long suspected an aquatic race dwells under these rocks, and directly below here is where I've determined is the most likely spot."
"Any questions?"

"Was the dead body too big of a give away?"

Was there enough for a Knowledge check on the hair/Tentacles?
" Well you'll be glad to know they were Skum. and likely there are not going to be much more of them, so perhaps we can bring back a cadaver or two for your morbid curiosity. "
Darius seemed to be.. cold as far as his tone.
" Expect a warm welcome, so bring the enemy some gifts. "
He starts casting spells on himself.
Sundakan
Was there enough for a Knowledge check on the hair/Tentacles?
It looked like part of the same thing as you saw before (the single tentacle in the lake), but with more parts.
" Well you'll be glad to know they were Skum. and likely there are not going to be much more of them, so perhaps we can bring back a cadaver or two for your morbid curiosity. "
Darius seemed to be.. cold as far as his tone.
"That would be excellent, thank you!"
He is entirely oblivious to Darius' tone.
Samuel Sledge
Sledge will get in the fish.
Jones Shei'lac
Jones has his usual cocktail before getting in the fish.
Mutagen, Heroism, Barkskin, Shield.
Sundakan
You get in the fish.
"Have a safe trip!"
Inside: Though the submersible looks like a fish, this is only an outer shell surrounding an iron, bell-shaped passenger chamber. A thick, double-layer, canvas air hose sealed with a mixture of whale oil
and alchemical reagents runs from a crank-operated air pump on the trawler into the top of the device. Passengers enter and exit the submersible through a 3-foot-diameter opening in the center of the floor mouth.
As long as the craft remains vertical, the air pressure prevents water from entering and flooding the interior of the bell. Without pumping, the interior holds enough air for four people for 30 minutes, or for two people for 60 minutes. If the air pump is being operated, then sufficient air is provided constantly through the inner hose, and stale air exits back up to the ship through the outer layer of the hose.Inside, a lantern containing a continual flame hangs from the ceiling to provide illumination, though it must be shuttered if passengers inside want to look out through the windows into the water.
A bench runs around the perimeter of the open hatch for seating. Three Medium-sized creatures can sit comfortably inside the submersible, or six can squeeze inside, but with six inside, all occupants are considered to be squeezing (–4 penalty on attack rolls, –4 penalty to AC). These penalties can be removed by simply exiting the vessel into open water.
"I'll stay here aboard the ship and pump air for you, and lower it." Croon says.
"It should take about ten minutes to reach the bottom of the lake. I won't be able to pump while turning the crank, but there should be plenty of air."
"Ring this little bell here once when you exit, twice when you need me to resume pumping, and thrice when you want me to winch it back up to the surface. That will take about an hour."
"I'm fairly certain the tunnels uder here must be at least partially air filled. I encourage you to exit the submersible and QUICKLY swim into them, as the underwater pressure will be quite severe."
"I have these little tubes for you. Just snap them open and they'll give you one breath of air, in case of emergencies."
"Now, good luck!"
Any final prep before descent?
Jones Shei'lac
Can I drink a Water Breathing potion and divide its duration among other people? It seems like it should be possible imo, since certain alchemist extracts are Communal spells.
Jones Shei'lac
Cool.
Jones uses Alchemical Allocation with one of the Water Breathing potions, then puts a hand on each of his companion's shoulders.
It probably has the minimum CL of 5, so we each get 2 hours.
Zin'Retatarianna Mor
"Wait. We still have to swim?"

Zin'Retatarianna Mor
"I thought maybe there would be a cave opening or something we could come up into."
"I can't swim."
Might need to buy a stockpile of Air Bubble for this part.

Doesn't it say it covers either your head or an object? In the text it mentioning using it to keep things air tight such as a pistol. I would assume it would then be one cast per arm.
"That sounds awful."
