Speaking of, I only see +9 vs Grapple (+2 Maneuver Training, +7 Favored Class). Where's the other +1 from? Remember the Belt of Superior Maneuvers is activated, not continuous. Also, just noticed your armor is listed as Spiked. Don't forget to roll damage for that.

Z uses her rod to empower her next spell, hearing of the creatures resistance to fire.
"If it still can burn at all, I can kill it."
Empowered Fireball DC22: 10d6 + 10 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 3, 3, 1, 1, 1, 5, 5) + 10 = 43 x1.5 = 64 Damage

The Mound flails its burning vegetation about, clearly distressed!
Jones.
Edit: One small mistake. Forgot the spores.
When Amanorn hits the creature, it releases a cloud of yellow spores!
Sledge, make me a DC 18 Fort save.
Zin's fire seems to cook off the spores however, temporarily rendering the creature unable to use them.
After Jones:
Ablaze and in pain, but with nowhere to go, it attacks Sledge, falling back on its tried and true grappling tactic!
1d20 + 22 ⇒ (7) + 22 = 29
But fails to find purchase on the musclebound mountain man!
Then Darius and Sledge.
Darius Ral'algul
You forgot the plant's save, not that it would matter
" I suppose it is time to settle the garbage as well "
Darius moves up to whip the mass of plant matter bladed-whip cutting vines and tentacles.
Weedwhaker: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23
Weedwhaker Damage: 1d3 + 13 + 4d6 ⇒ (3) + 13 + (3, 1, 6, 6) = 32

If it yet lives, on my turn I will put two arrows in it, and say something snarky and vaguely dirty that I'm too lazy to think up right now.
ArcaneStrikeAndDeadlyAim: 1d20 + 17 - 3 ⇒ (17) + 17 - 3 = 31
damage: 1d8 + 4 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 6 + 2 = 20
SecondHitSameStuff: 1d20 + 17 - 3 ⇒ (11) + 17 - 3 = 25
damage: 1d8 + 4 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 6 + 2 = 16
"Is this even hurting it?"
EDIT - even I need to take a break once in a while. This is just getting ridiculous.
Jones Shei'lac
"Allow me to try something..."
As Jones approaches the Mound, he shifts his grip on his rapier, holding it at an unusual angle. Instead of striking the Mound with the tip of the weapon, he slashes it with the narrow edge of the blade.
Weapon Versatility, free action to deal slashing damage.
Studied Slashing Rapier: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (11) + 20 = 31

You asked for it.
"You know, I've shot into a lot of strange things in my life, but strictly speaking about archery here, this thing is probably the weirdest. Still, you put the shaft where the shaft has to go, no matter how gross it looks...even if it's being whipped by a hairy man while another man wrestles it around."
Samuel Sledge
@Rynjin: I have armbands of the brawler.
Fort: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35
Sledge will pin it... using belt
1d20 + 24 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 24 + 1 = 30
spikes: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
and injure it...
spikes + unarmed: 1d6 + 5 + 1d8 + 24 ⇒ (5) + 5 + (5) + 24 = 39
EDIT: I'm assuming it's still caught in my grapple, right?

@Rynjin: I have armbands of the brawler.
That's CMB, not CMD.
Plant Ref save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Jones slashes it, as does Darius, and Sledge finishes off the poor thing with a brutal takedown.
Poor guy. Neutral, minded his own business, and you come in and murderhobo all over him.
Now to reap the rewards.
In the murk is a magic helmet, surprisingly shiny among all this sludge. Also, a familiar amulet: That of the gagged skull.

This i a Helm of Underwater Action. It contains lenses that allows someone to see 5 times farther than water or light conditions would allow a normal human to see, and can be activated to grant a 30 ft. Swim speed and a bubble of air that allows the wearer to breath underwater. This effect lasts until deactivated.
The command word is "Glub glub burble".
Samuel Sledge
"Let's keep moving."
Darius Ral'algul
My murderhobo senses were right!
Darius looks to Amanorn, a sneer upon his face. " The lash of Grimoire cares not for what it is that tastes its wrath, save that they need be punished. "
Letting that hand in the air he nods to Sledge. " This makes the trip easy, however why all of this underwater gear? It points toward the sea which even with these items we are ill prepared for. Hrmph Not that we wont end the evil there. "
Darius takes the other path they did not chose.

Remember Undiomede's journal said the Neighbors were under the bay.
You wander down the hallway. At the end, you can see a faint violet glow, and hear a woman singing a lullaby.
In here, the oppressive sense you've felt in the background comes to the forefront, asaulting your mind even harder.
Everyone make me Will saves, DC 22. Except Amanorn. For some reason, you feel none of this. You DO feel, however, the slug wriggling happily under your skin.

Everyone but Amanorn feels an inexplicable sense of lethargy, but it quickly passes.
Moving on, the cavern ends in a large, high-ceilinged cavern. It is mostly dry, and is lit by a faint illumination from some quite pretty violet fungi dotting the area.
A wide pool of clear water stands just inside the entrance. A pair of ledges run along the chamber’s north and south walls, accessed by wooden ladders. At the far end of the chamber, the floor drops into a pit, the top of a ladder just visible at its edge. Scattered across the floor of the room are a number of bedrolls and assorted personal possessions, including, strangely, a number of dressmaker’s dummies, some of them child-sized. The low, haunting melody of a woman singing carries through the chamber, seemingly coming from the pit.
A branched path to the east glows with an altogether different color, one quite strange to the humanoid eye. It seems to shift slightly, almost a rainbow in a single color. Iridescent but somehow unchanging.
Another path branches to the north.
Darius Ral'algul
Darius narrows his eyes and looks towards the pit warily, he nudges Jones to Stealthily check it out.
The last time they heard a lyrical voice it came from a Spiderworm Queen.. thing.
Jones Shei'lac
Jones creeps forward.
Take 10, 29.
Rynjin
Mis-described colors, see edit.
In the pit is a young woman, cradling what appears to be a baby. She glows with an eerie radiance not dissimilar to that coming from the adjoining room, and her skin is bleached white. She is thin and emaciated, clearly malnourished, but does not seek food or water, though some is relatively near between the water pools and cauldron up above. She merely sits and holds the baby, cooing and babbling at it incoherently.
Samuel Sledge
Let's kill 'em both tbh.
Darius Ral'algul
Well that's eerie. Jones has to come back to report that. Likely this is one of the recent wives, though her being all... white is weird. I assume he means like white-white.. not Chelaxian. Also she glows.
Darius Ral'algul
As I said, quite weird, is there any know ledges we can get from the sudden effect that came upon us or the eerie lights? perhaps for Jones on what the woman actually is.. or her condition of Whiteness?
Jones Shei'lac
Jones comes back and reports what he saw in the pit.
"I don't know what to make of it."
Amanorn Preyedan
I have at least one rank in every knowledge. I Aid Another on whatever people need. I can't possibly fail the DC; at least +11 in any of them. I know some people have trouble with the idea of Aiding on a knowledge, but sometimes people spitballing can help you when you've got something on the tip of your tongue. If that doesn't suit your interests, I can roll a knowledge myself.
"Seems familiar, oh, I think it's in the back of my mind, but I just can't quite place it..."
Amanorn Preyedan
MostKnowledges: 1d20 + 11 - 5 ⇒ (3) + 11 - 5 = 9+1 more if it's Arcana, Dungeoneering, or Planes
So looks like I only aid another if it's Arcana, Dungeoneering, or Planes. My rolls are amazing!
Amanorn Preyedan
"You know Jones, tip of my tongue...the thing with...okay, remember, I made that joke about how I would be her baby. Nobody laughed. The professor told me to leave. That thing!" This is how I aid Jones. I'm a helper!
Jones Shei'lac
Kn. Dungeoneering + aid: 1d20 + 14 + 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 14 + (5) + 2 = 38
Jones cocks his head "Amanorn, what the hell are you talking about?"
Rynjin
This appears to be the effect of an incredibly rare creature known as a Colour out of Space.
It is exactly what it sounds like: A living color. From space. Scholars classify it as a type of Ooze, but only because that's the closest classification they can liken it to. The color you are viewing now is, essentially, what the creature IS, though viewed from some ways out. It exudes an aura of lassitude that makes people weak willed and lethargic, unwilling to flee as it feeds on them, which is likely what you felt as you entered.
I'll give you a freebie, assuming you Dungeoneer the woman as well.
People who are strong and survive repeated feedings from this creature can become Colour Blighted, immune to further feeding, but usually left insane from the previous sapping of their psyche. They glow with the same eerie radiance as the Colour.
As you realize this, a wave of psychic energy assaults you again, akin to when you saw the Spawning Canker. Your brain is weakened by struggling to wrap your brain around such an odd creature, and the constant menta assault focuses for a moment.
Make me DC 15 Will saves, except Amanorn.
Darius Ral'algul
T-Thats horrifying and terrible... this poor woman. We should kill the creature then first... if it is around. As likely the woman will attack us and thats no good
Darius Ral'algul
Darius grunts slightly.
Will Save: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30
" I would assume being an ooze it has no eyes... "
Did the ladies head just explode or something?
Amanorn Preyedan
"The girl is not the ooze. She is tainted by it. And anyway, I meant, you know, being color warped, I wondered if it might have unusual effects...similarly to how fire will slow a fire golem."
Jones Shei'lac
Will: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
"Hm."
Rynjin
Did the ladies head just explode or something?
No. Okay, so, this AP has optional sanity loss rules. I like sanity loss, but the way they did things was dumb. Basically, every time you see or realize something horrifying, you make a Will save or lose Sanity. Which is...weird three books into a horror AP. Like, in this case just realizing the Colour is a living creature is enough to cause sanity loss because reasons, instead of just being an interesting cool thing like you see all the time.
I have changed it ever so slightly. Basically, Shub-Niggurath is CONSTANTLY assaulting your sanity directly. Normally you can handle it, but when faced with something extremely startling, terrifying, or just plain confusing, that shows a chink in your mental armor, and then you make the save vs sanity loss.
The Spawning Canker didn't really need any extra since it's basically a baby Shub anyway.
I don't think I did a good job of describing this without outright stating it, so here it is stated.
Darius Ral'algul
I see you are making up for smashing Shub. I wonder how we pissed an eldritch abomination off.
" 'It' generally signifies a thing not a person. Regardless it seems the creature is .. close. Let's use that wand and get healed up, we don't know how bad this fight might be and it is preventing this woman from being able to leave no doubt. "
Jones Shei'lac
"Agreed."
Jones uses the wand to heal Darius, himself, and Sledge in that order.
Darius x8: 8d8 + 8 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 6, 8, 3, 7, 6) + 8 = 51
Jones x7: 7d8 + 7 ⇒ (8, 4, 3, 5, 6, 1, 2) + 7 = 36
Sledge x3: 3d8 + 3 ⇒ (8, 8, 6) + 3 = 25
18 charges spent over 18 rounds, or 1 minute and 48 seconds.
Samuel Sledge
"Thanks, Jones. Do we just kill it, then?"
"And would not seeing it help?"
Samuel Sledge
Forgot the Will Save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Darius Ral'algul
Ahh that post didnt go through. I was basically saying that I didnt need that many charges because I didnt take that 22 damage so that can go somewhere else.
Jones Shei'lac
Ok, I'll transfer Darius's last 3 charges to Sledge and me.
Sledge x2: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (3, 1) + 2 = 6
Me: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
So Darius is at 72 HP, and Sledge and I each heal an extra 6.
